  • Why am I nervous about everything?

Hi! I get nervous over nearly anything. I like to act because it helps me pretend like nothing really exists and I can get lost in a world where I know how and when everything will happen, but I begin rehearsals for a show tomorrow and I am nervous to the point of nausea. I get nervous when going to new places and have to keep going to the bathroom so I can calm down by myself, and I find myself constantly dropping out of things because I am worried beforehand. I'm most comfortable when inside my room alone, but everything makes me nervous and I have to take several days to gather confidence before going into something unfamiliar if I end up doing it at all. Please help. What is wrong with me and what should I do?

  • Why do I feel sick every time I hang out with my boyfriend?

Hi! I've had a rather strange and upsetting problem. It seems that every time I hang out with my boyfriend I start feeling sick to my stomach. It's fine when we are alone together after school practicing for band or when we are with friends and are together but twice now I've gotten excessively nervous before we hang out and when I arrive have to go to the bathroom immediately because I just get so nervous that it affects the way I feel physically. It's only happened twice, but we've gone on official dates only 3 times. One of them was New Years, and that evening had no issues, but then again we were mostly with his family. I get stressed very easily and he has a rough home life and background so maybe that has something to do with it? I like him very much, and we were dating long before we were official, but now that we are I feel a lot of pressure. I've had another boyfriend in the past and I never felt like this. Another thing is that we've had a lot of physical contact so maybe subconsciously something is messed up there. Just a bit of information- I am a freshman in high school and he is a sophomore. We have the same best friends and he is a phenomenal, caring, intelligent guy. I don't know why I feel this way. Is it possible I have some form of anxiety? What should I do to calm down about this? Any help/input is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Someone who plays the cello please? :)?

Hey there! I was curious about the difficulty level of the cello; I am very seriously considering picking it up. I am a freshman in high school and have been doing band for 3 and a half years, but I play trumpet. I don't have experience with stringed instruments whatsoever. I don't want this to take away from practicing my horn too much, but I'm just drawn to the cello somehow. It's an incredibly soulful instrument. Any information on difficulty level, time worthiness, cost, etc would be much appreciated, and thank you in advance!

  • How do I safely go through with a juice cleanse?

On a recent trip to Florida, I found myself eating junk food frequently. Now that I am back, my body is filled with junk and I feel "blah" all the time. I figured I would reset my system correctly with a three-day juice cleanse. What should I do to safely undertake it? What should I do before, during, and what should my meals be after? What should I expect whilst putting the plan to action? Also, does anyone have any good recipes for a specific part of they day? Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

  • Help! Is my cut infected?

I cut my leg on a ladder a few days ago. About 30 minutes after it happened I got to clean it and put antibiotic cream on it. It started feeling a lot better so I just cleaned it occasionally for the next two days. Now it still feels okay an doesn't hurt very much at all but is pussing a little bit but it doesn't smell bad. It isn't swollen and there is very little redness around it and it's bruised a little. It's clean now, has antibiotic cream on it, and is covered in gauze. So is it infected? Thank you!

  • What do I do?? I shaved a chunk of my nail off!?

Today I was shaving and it obviously went terribly wrong and I ended up shaving off a chunk of my nail. I immediately cleaned it, applied Neosporin and a Band-aid. I realize now that this wasn't smart, but I continued to go swimming (my finger was wrapped in gauze). I have washed it 3 more times since and it's now got gauze and Neosporin on it. The skin under my finger was bleeding quite a bit but it wasn't too terrible an stopped after a few minutes. Luckily it wasn't a huge chunk. It hurts pretty badly but not when I'm not doing anything to it. My main concern is infection. I clean it often and change the gauze often. How can I prevent infection? Thank you...I am grateful for any advice! :)

  • Help! My guinea pig doesn't know how to get water!?

My guinea pig, Toasty, who I bought only two days ago does not know how to get water. She has been eating oranges but I haven't seen her drink yet... I assumed she was doing it when I wasn't with her, but a few minutes ago she was frantically digging and I didn't know what about. I cute her an orange wedge and now she's contentedly eating it...was she very hungry or does she not know how to get water? I checked the bottle and it worked, plus she has dry food...I'm very scared! Please tell me what I should do! Thank you!

  • How do I Bond With My Guinea Pig?

Hi! I got my three-month-old female guinea pig from a pet shop yesterday and was wondering if there was anything I could do so that we bond? I have taken her out of her cage twice so far and she has sat on my arm while I stroked her. I'm not sure if this was a good idea or not, but she seems to like it. She hides in her hut pretty much all day. I've been providing her with orange wedges for her daily dose of Vitamin C and have tried to let her eat out of my hand but she hides in her hut. I love her so much already and want to know if there is anything I could do so that we have a strong bond...thank you!

  • What are some good psychological science experiments?

I'm participating in a science fair and am very interested in psychology. I'd like to do something related to it...I've been thinking about doing a social experiment but I'm not sure what kind. Psychology has always intrigued me and doing something related to the topic would be ideal. This science experiment has to include a controlled variable, independent variable, and have multiple tests/trials. I have a little less than four months to complete it...any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you!

  • When getting a guinea pig is it best to get one or two of the same gender?

I was just wondering...I am very seriously considering getting a guinea pig and was curious if I should get just one (which will be easier to handle) or two so they could keep each other compnay? I would be able to have them out of their (or its) cage a good 30-45 minutes a day, but I also think that it might be easier to moniter with just one. I plan on getting a 4x2 foot cage...is that big enough for two or would one be good? Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it!
