  • Why does my land line phone ring briefly every night about 11 p.m.?

It's not a proper ring; it's more like it's starting to ring and then stops. There's no time to answer it. No one is on the line if I answer it anyway. It's been doing this for months. It happens only on an older style phone, and my newer cordless phones don't ring at the same time, though they're on the same number.

  • Where in the Bible does it describe satan/devil/lucifer as having horns and cloven hooves? Anywhere?

If it doesn't describe him like that, then where did that image of him come from? And when did it start being used? And why, if it isn't in your bible, is the Christian bad guy often portrayed with horns and cloven hooves?

    Have you ever wondered?

  • Why is it that many Pagans don't capitalise the word Pagan?

Many of those same Pagans, in the same sentence or paragraph, will capitalise Christian.

To me, as a Pagan, it looks disrespectful. I understand that Pagan is an umbrella term for a number of different earth-based spiritual paths, and not the name of a specific path, but "Christian" is also an umbrella term for a lot of very different spiritual paths, and everyone capitalises that.

As I see it, there is a difference between "pagan" and "Pagan." The lower case "pagan" meant ANYONE who wasn't Christian, Jewish or Muslim, whether or not they had a spiritual path. With a capital P, Pagan refers to those of us who follow earth-based spiritual paths, and that is the usage I'm talking about here.

Are people just being lazy, or is there some specific reason Pagans have chosen to not capitalise Pagan?
