  • Was America Founded on the Christian Religion?

I saw the movie Monumental and it really made it seem like we were a nation that was supposed to be founded under Christian values, and also that we live in God's world and not Darwin's fantasy evolution world. However, reading the Treaty of Tripoli that was ratified unanimously by the U.S. Senate, It seems like that's total bull.

  • What colleges can I get into?

I live in Texas and I am not in the top 10 percent, I want to do something in psychology and I'll probably have to go out of state.

    I have a 3.33 gpa and I'm 65 in my class of 441

I have gotten 4's on three AP tests and one 3

I got a 2020 on the SAT with a combined CR and Math of 1380

That's it, no extracurriculars, no clubs, no life, no community service.

I'm also super poor and mexican...

Where do I have a chance of getting into?

  • Spiritually speaking, Does this mean I failed the writing TAKS?

(posted this in education and got like no answers)

I'm in 11th grade and not a bad writer, but on the TAKS essay I decided to go out with a bang as I answered the prompt "about a time when someone impacted you" (or something broad like that) with multiple curse words (all in the context of the story) and a theme that involved me converting a troubled person to Atheism. I'm not aware of any vulgar language rules and I followed the prompt, but do you think I still have a chance of failing?

  • Atheists, please put some thought in your answer.?

Our version of death is something that is unavoidable and inescapable. If you were given the power to make the afterlife real, with the qualifications and restrictions set in place by Roman Catholic Christians, would you?

    Why or why not.

Forget reality or why you don't like God.

If you could would you make it real?

  • Christianity isn't all that bad.?

At least It wasn't meant to be. I've seen many people that have become much better because of it. A little manipulation to someone that needs it can go a long way. You can bash religion for all the stupid stuff that it brings out, like fighting, but people with fight anyway. If not about religion then about something else, that's probably just as stupid. The people you see becoming Christian might need the hope of an afterlife just to get through the day, and I'm positive that taking away their religion won't cause them to become any smarter. Stupid people will be easily manipulated into making stupid decisions, regardless of their faith. I'm just throwing this out there because it seems that the Christian faction of R&S is asleep.

Do you really think it will make a difference?

  • Something cannot be created out of nothing?

I posed another question regarding proof of God's existence and "Only" stated that this was one of the more prominent religious arguments out there. I've heard this before I believe the main argument is that there HAD to be a supreme being to create everything, and it was just always there. I propose that you cut out the middle man (in this case God) and say:

    "Everything was always here."

It makes just as much sense, but I want to hear more about this argument. Do you believe it holds merit? Especially if you disagree why am I wrong?

  • If the Universe is infinite then that proves God is real!?

I've heard this statement many times from Christians their argument never made any sense to me.

    The best I've heard was:

    "The Universe is infinite right?"

    Me = can't be proven

    ..... (then it ends there)

Has anyone else ever heard this argument or have any insight that would make it meaningful?
