  • How do I know what type of writer...?

I would like to become a writer, but can't decide what genre to work in. So far I attempt to write crime fiction, but it's tough... Is it the wrong genre if it's difficult to write through to the end? I have 80 pages of a novel started but can't finish.

  • Severe and sudden period pain, what can i do?

My periods have gotten much more regular since i had children. Yet, every so often, i wake up during my period in excruciating agony that buckles me over. I stand up, but begin to faint. I start to cry from the pain and then from the thought of spending the rest of the day like this... i have a 2 yr old and 3 yr old to look after while my husband is at school. Advil will help to a degree, but i am beginning to think a trip to the dr. is in order. my only concern is that she will try putting me on birth control. i am not anti-the pill, i just do not react well to it as i learned a few years ago.

so what can i do? there is a whole foods market near us, perhaps a trip over there is needed? any suggestions?

  • How do you get a job writing for Dreamworks or Pixar / Disney?

I think I could write great stories for the mass market / children's movies... How do you get into that?

  • How do I get paid to do research for a book I want to write?

I am unclear if grant writing is what I want. I am eager to write an educational reference book. However, I am a full time student as well as in charge of caring for my household of 2 children and husband. He is the only one working and tuition will be increasing when I transfer to a University next year. How do I get paid to do the research I need for this book?

  • What's the future of graphic novels in an e-book world?

  • Fabric painting with little kids.... any tips?

For my daughter's birthday there will be about 8 toddlers here finger painting t-shirts. It seems that the paint of choice is DecoArt SoSoft Fabric Paint (according to various websites). However, I can only find it in 1 ounce or 1.15 once bottles. Each is about $1.45.

    A) Where can I get larger bottles?

    B) Do you agree this is the best paint for little kids to finger paint on fabric with?

    C) Any tips for painting shirts with toddlers?

  • My daughter is turning 2 !!! How can we have a "crafts" related birthday?

For my daughter's birthday next month we will be getting her an easel and stamps. Probably markers too. Her brother is 3 years old. They both love to color. Their friends are ages1, 2, 3, and 4. What kinds of activities could we have for such little kids to do?

I thought I could get white t-shirts and everyone could color their own shirt to keep? I think even the 1 yr old girl could do that with supervision.

I'm tired of the bounce houses. Every birthday is a bounce house. Plus, mid august in California is pretty hot. An art theme could be done inside while the grown-ups watch. We could lay down a tarp and let them play, or even have the party in the evening outside.

What are some fun ideas to stick with an art theme???

    Thanks!!!

  • What to do in Las Vegas with my dad?

  • The electoral College ---> What was it supposed to be and what has it become?

I have to answer a similar question for my poli sci class at school... but i have become quite fascinated by the electoral college. I knew zero about it prior to this semester.

So I am curious, has what its become the reason people want it gone? I think it has just evolved, as most things do, rather than become something it shouldn't be.

    Thoughts?

  • What is the organization that gets books to poor or under privileged / high risk teens and children?

I operate a literary magazine at my junior college in the Bay Area in California. I am looking to hook up with an organization or foundation that works to get under privileged children, teens and young adults books to read. Or perhaps the same scenario for getting books to schools? Really, I want to encourage reading and writing.

    Where do I look???

    Thanks!!!

  • How do I tell my husband that I need to have a social life?

So recently I have become more active in school clubs. (Im in my last year at junior college)

I really miss the interaction with people in social settings.

    We have 2 kids... a 3yr old and a 21month old.

    I am 25.

I'm not saying i want to go clubbing every night... thats not me.

But i would like to go hang out a little with people my age and not talk kid stuff.

I wish my hubby would go out more and have a social life.

he is becoming a real hermit.

Frankly, his total disinterest in a social life is depressing to me and i feel like i will have to force him to start going to a marriage counselor with me. we'll see.

But is it okay for me to want to have a little fun as long as im not getting drunk, being immoral... you know.... i just want to socialize.

my friend likes a guy at school, but she isn't sure if she should let him know. he's a couple years younger than her and she has a kid. what should she do? im married and have 2 kids... i cant imagine getting into the "dating scene" again... she's been out of it for a few years now. but the guy is super nice and they seem to get along. he hasn't made any advances other than just being nice to her.

    Any advice???

  • Once you decide divorce is GOING to happen, what do you do?

My husband and I have tried, but I just don't see myself growing old with him anymore.

We have 2 kids. I am still finishing school. So I want to divorce after I graduate.

What, if anything, should I be doing now to ensure a calm and smooth divorce?

Please don't be bitter, just answer the question. I don't have time to explain the whole situation. I just want us to be friends as best we can. I don't want a bitter angry divorce and I don't want the kids to witness more upheaval than they have to.

  • What questions do I ask a potential daycare?

I have a 3 yr old son and 20 month old daughter.

I recently found out my friend from high school's mother runs a daycare out of her home.

We visited today and it seemed very nice.

She said we could work out a fee that i can afford since I am a friend of her daughter.

    My concerns are:

Has she or her husband (who helps with the daycare) ever been convicted of anything?

Do they use any sort of psychiatric medication? (I am anti psychiatric drugs)

I don't want there to be more children there than is reasonable.

There are show chickens in the back yard in their own area, is that a problem?

But I dont want to offend with any of those questions and dont know what else I should ask?

I'm a first timer in this department. Any help would be really great.

    Thank you

  • Should I buy the Acai Berry Extreme pills?

    http://www.amazon.com/Extreme-Antioxidant-Appetite...

Even if there is no weight loss, it is still good like taking a vitamin each day, right?

And should I lose weight in the process, then yay!

Do you have any experience with this pill?

    How did you feel?

I found it while looking up appetite suppressants, but have decided not to go that route.

I have just a few pounds to shed, but have stalled out at 184 when my goal weight is 150.

I guess I am just looking to see if it is worth spending the $30...

  • Have you used Alli? I just bought some but am getting cold feet.....?

I have 30 pounds to lose.

The weight is thanks to having 2 kids almost back-to-back.

I have been eating right, but I am also a student so exercise is not something I have a lot of time for.

I was losing weight regularly until recently.

I have come to a stall out at 184 for a few months now...

I want to use something like a "diet pill" or appetite suppressant to help just a bit.

After some research Alli sounds like the one, but there are some horrific bowel movement stories that scare me.

    Any helpful thoughts???

  • If I cant afford a steep booth price... Where can I sell my magazine?

The club I am in produces a beautiful magazine of art, poetry, and other writings.

We need a place to sell, but can't afford the booth prices at the art and wine festivals. Even if we split a booth with someone else.

Where can we sell our magazine for little or no cost?

I also created an Etsy account, so hopefully that will help.
