Brothers and sisters have I none... But that man's father is my father's son. Who is that man?
this riddle was recently posed to me, I was told the answer is: 'my son'
But before this I gave a different answer that I think is also correct.
So do you think: 'my reflection' ..... would also answer the riddle correctly?

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality8 years agoTo: Atheist in R&S ???????
When you quote the Bible in your questions
most of you will only use the King James Version...
The KJV was finished in 1611, and it's now 2013
Why do so many of you act like this archaic, 400 year old, translation is the only one there is?

18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoGay Marriage ..... Agree or Disagree?
I am relay tired of people trying to 'frame' arguments about gay marriage by calling there position something that sounds more appealing than: 'for' or 'against' gay marriage...
I get relay irritated when people say:
"I'm for _____________!" ('Marriage Equality' or 'Traditional Marriage')
lots of people like the concepts 'Equality' & 'Tradition'.....
describing your side as being 'for' one these things doesn't make your position more correct....
...well... I'll get down of this soapbox now.....
anyone else feel similarly?

2 AnswersLanguages8 years agoto: Christian Young Earth Creationists?
1) this is only for Young Earth Creationists that are Christians...
2) I'm christian too...but not a YEC...I believe in Evolutionary Creation / Theistic Evolution
so question for my YEC 'brothers and sisters in christ':
would you say you disagree with Evolution, big bang, etc. more on scientific grounds or theological ones?
do you think its bad science? or bad biblical interpretation?
just wondering......

1 AnswerHobbies & Crafts8 years agoif Jesus wasn't real....then Evolution isn't true.?
some people insist there is no proof Jesus was a real person...
but a historian that questions the fact that Jesus was a real person, is taken about as seriously as a biologist that denies Evolution....
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoto Atheist: do you have a "plan B" ?
It seems like a lot of your arguments agents Christianity are aimed at Young Earth Creationism.
And by disproving YEC you feel you disprove Christianity, as if YEC if the only belief about the origin of the universe a Christian can have.
so in, lets say 50 years.....the over whelming majority of Christians accept the "big bang" & evolution as the way God created things.....( a lot more than you might think already do)
what do you do? it would seem as though your favorite argument against Christianity ( that science has proven YEC false) has become irrelevant....
So just wondering: is there a "plan B"..... because "plan A" (attack YEC) is becoming less relevant every day?
29 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoHypothetical: Mitt Romney Wins the election?
Joseph Smith, the founder of the LDS Church said about the Bible:
"Ignorant translators, careless transcribers, or designing and corrupt priests have committed many errors"
According to the Book of Mormon, only fools believe the Bible is a sufficient spiritual guide. 2 Nephi 29:6 states, "Thou fool, that shall say: A Bible, we have got a Bible, and we need no more Bible."
LDS Apostle Orson Pratt said, "... who in his right mind could for one moment suppose the Bible in its present form to be a perfect guide? Who knows that even one verse of the Bible has escaped pollution, so as to convey the same sense now that it did in the original?"
And about the Book of Mormon Joseph Smith said:
“I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”
In Mormonism, Mitt Romney's Religion, The Book of Mormon is viewed as "superior" to the Bible.
So, hypothetical: would Mitt Romney be sworn in with a copy of the Bible or Book of Mormon?

11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAm I "white" or "White, Not Hispanic or Latino"?
I don't know which box to mark!
I'm of European ancestry, my whole family is. I don't know of anyone marrying someone that wasn't of European ancestry in my entire family's history (or, as far back as I can trace. around the mid 19th century). this could be accidental or racist, I don't know.
basically....
I'm definitely "white"
and definitely "Not Hispanic or Latino" and still white?
So which box do I mark on applications and stuff like that?
and could you explain why the separate classifications exist, and who they would apply too?
