  • How can I password protect documents on iPhone/iCloud?

I have a document that I want password protected (i.e. when you tap on the document you can't view it unless you enter a password). I want to the capability to edit the document either on my PC or on my iPhone and have it automatically update on all of my devices when I save the edits. I have iCloud set up and I like the idea of the App called "Pages" but I do not see that "Pages" allows you to password protect a document. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance. :)

  • What kind of contractor should I hire to erect a privacy stucco wall around my home?

Instead of a wooden fence I would like to have a solid stucco or concrete wall built around my property for privacy. Something similar to this: http://blu.stb.s-msn.com/i/2F/DC364C482D9090EA3D44...

It seems to me that it's a better long-term solution as wood will eventually rot and have to be replaced. It would also block out more noise from the street and I believe will look better aesthetically with my Spanish-Med style stucco home.

Anyway, I'm not sure who to contact to do it. A landscaper? A hardscaper? A mason? A general contractor? A construction company?

    Thanks :)

  • Gift ideas for Argentinos?

I will be visiting my in-laws in Argentina for Christmas and New Year's and I would like to buy them nice gifts. I am trying to figure out what items Argentinos would like from the U.S., that they cannot get or are very expensive in Argentina (I know that many imported items are taxed at very high rates). Obviously anything Apple, but what else?

  • Weird new kitty behavior. She eats all food placed in front of her...will not stop eating until food is gone?

I just adopted a 1 year old siamese cat 2 weeks ago. I have another cat and they are getting along okay. When we are not at the house I leave the new cat in our guest bedroom with her own food and water and her own litter box. Without fail, the cat eats ALL the food I put in her bowl, even if it's generally enough for two days. My existing cat eats normal: once in the morning, once at night and always has a supply of dry food during the day. I cannot leave a supply of dry food for the new cat because she eats it all! I now only give her enough food for one feeding.

I noticed her weird behavior with food the first night we brought her home. She will come to us, let us pet her, purr and start "making bread", and then run away to the food bowl, eat, and come back to us for more pets and purrs...and then run back to the food bowl again. I believe this poor cat probably had a limited supply of food her whole life and is afraid that if she doesn't eat everything placed in front of her all at once, she might not get anymore.

I have a couple cat behavior books but I can't find anything on this. How do I correct this behavior?

  • My friend has a small kitchen and wants a dishwasher. She only has a 17 inch space (width) to work with.?

All of the 'compact' dishwashers we can find are 18 inches wide, which is (obviously) a full inch too big. Do you know where (website, store, etc) we can find a compact dishwasher smaller than 18 inches? Places we've looked: Ikea, Sears, Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon. 10 pts to the best internet sleuth. :P

  • What is the best way to duplicate a USB Flash Drive?

I am in the process of indexing 3000 documents contained within a 14GB USB Flash Drive. I want to make a copy (or two) of the flash drive so that I can have more than one person 'indexing' different sections at the same time.

    Thanks for the suggestions

  • Can someone sue both the driver AND the owner of the parking lot?

Say there is an idiot who backs out of a parking space and gets hit by a an oncoming vehicle. (ie: he failed to pay attention in looking both ways). This same idiot wants to sue both the driver (for speeding in the parking lot--which could be a legitimate claim), as well as the store where the parking lot where the accident occurred is located. What circumstances, if any, would allow him to sue the store?

  • Root Canal or Extraction?

Last year I was referred to an endodontist by my dentist to get a root canal done on one of my molars. It turned out to be a quadruple root canal (4 root canals on the same tooth). I paid over $1500 cash for this treatment because my insurance didn't cover all of it.

It might sound stupid, but as dentistry is not within my extensive knowledge bank, I was not aware that I needed to come back to get a crown. The endodontist didn't even tell me! If she would have told me I guarantee I would have made an appointment with her THAT DAY to come back in 2 weeks or whenever I was supposed to come back. I thought the temporary filler WAS the crown. It didn't fall out until January. Now I have this gaping hole in my molar that is irritating as all heck, and the endodontist is telling me there's nothing she can do but charge me for another quadruple root canal procedure PLUS the crown.

    I'm saying EFF THAT.

Should I go to another dentist and get a crown put on without the root canal or should I just get the sucker extracted?

    Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Job Application: Is it ok to contact your current employer?

This application question is a double-edged sword. If I say "no" the new employer is going to think that I have something to hide.

If I say "yes" they're going to contact my current employer who is not aware that I'm on the lookout for a new job. I can't exactly tell my current boss that I'm on the lookout for my dream federal government job that pays more...

    What do you think?

  • Document Scanner Recommendation Please?

At my office we are in need of a heavy duty document scanner that can be auto-fed 50-100 pages at a time (in color). The faster the better. We are looking at a price range of $5K or less. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

-We are NOT looking for an all-in-one copy/scanner/printer...we have xerox machine doubling as a printer that works just fine. (I've already checked about adding a scanner to our machine and with our model it will cost upwards of $6k).

    Thanks for the suggestions!

  • Amoxicillin Dosage for Ear Infection?

I have an unlimited prescription for the antibiotic amoxicillin because I have to take it every time I go to the dentist as a precaution for my heart murmer.

The capsules are 500 mg and when I go to the dentist, I usually take 4.

I have a history of ear infections. I had tubes put in my ears when I was kid and have been plagued by them my whole life. My doctor always prescribes amoxicillin to treat the infection. So since I have this unlimited prescription for amoxicillin why am I going to waste a visit to the dr to get an additional rx for amoxicillin? (I'm not). Unfortunately I do not remember the mg prescribed for the ear infections...so that's why I'm asking YOU:

In your opinion, how many mg's of amoxicillin should I take to clear up an ear infection? I'm thinking I should take one 500mg capsule every 12 hours.

It would be most appreciated if an actual doctor or pharmacist could give me insight.

  • High protein low fat foods for a vegetarian. Suggestions please?

    Please give me your suggestions.

(I don't need your comment if you are smug smart@$$, thanks).

(I did not receive many responses in Health so I reposted here)

First of all, I'm a vegetarian. I do not eat fish of any kind and I do not like Tofu.

I do eat cheese and I'll eat eggs if they're baked in a recipe (this means I don't eat hard boiled eggs and the like).

I'm trying to cut back on pasta, bread and carbs in general, and up my intake of high protein low fat foods (not vitamin pills) that do not include meat, eggs, and tofu (without literally eating like a rabbit).

    Thanks!

  • Civil Procedure Question?

Let's assume an incident resulting in a personal injury happened in Nevada. The plaintiff (victim) resides in Florida, the defendant (attacker) resides in Texas. I know the plaintiff could file in a US District court by claiming diversity of citizenship...but my question is WHICH District court should the complaint be filed in? I am thinking the District Court in Nevada, since that is where the incident took place.

I have also further confused myself by thinking, about which statutes to base my causes of action. Should I go by the Federal statutes or the state statutes (Nevada) where the plaintiff will file the complaint?

I'm sure I'm making this more complicated than it is. Help me out please!

    Thanks.

  • Who is liable for the paint splatter on my car...?

Across the street from my high rise building, another series of high rises are being constructed (namely Trump Palace). Three buildings are to be completed. The first building is complete. When the first building was painted there were no issues.

Now, the second high rise building is in the stages of being painted. This time however my neighbors and I have white drops of paint splatter all over our cars! (there are more with each passing day) I've also learned that properly removing the drops without further scratching the paint involves buffing each one out. (Great news, especially since I just bought a new car 5 months ago). I've since bought a cover (that is also covered in the little speckles), but that does not take away the fact that the paint on my car is messed up.

Do you think that I have a negligence or strict liability claim against the developer or general contractor? I'm in Florida.

    smarta$$es need not apply. Thanks.

  • What would you do if you had the same job as a co-worker...?

but you found out that person makes significantly more than you?

Let's say the co-worker has been working there for 2 years, and you only 6 months. The co-worker has been slowly pushing more and more work on you.

Would you ask for a raise, get over it (because your pay checks aren't that bad anyway), or find a new job?

  • Ladies, do you know what's on your Handbag?

    Read this and be horrified:

It's something just about every woman carries with them. While we may know what's inside our handbags, do we have any idea what's on the outside?

Women carry handbags everywhere; from the office to public restrooms to the floor of the car. Most women won't be caught without their handbags, but did you ever stop to think about where your handbag goes during the day?

"We decided to find out if handbags harbor a lot of bacteria. We learned from Nelson Laboratories in Salt Lake, how to test them, then we set out to test the average woman's handbag.

Most women told us they didn't stop to think about what was on the bottom of their handbag. Most said at home they set their handbags on top of kitchen tables and counters where food is prepared.

It turns out handbags are so dirty, even the microbiologist who tested them was shocked..."
