  • I'm having a problem putting fuel in my 1999 Cavalier?

    I need to put fuel in my vehicle but I'm having a problem with the fuel going into the tank. I insert the hose into the filler tube and start to put gas in, but it backs up causing the supply to shut off. It does not matter how slow I put (fuel) it backs up and goes onto the ground.

    Could it be the vent tube is plugged? Or is there a screen/filter built into the filler tube? Thanks.
