I was recently diagnosed from blood work as having diabetes. My fasting A1C was 9.7+ and my fasting blood sugar was 127. My gyno doctor is the one that did the blood work and informed me of the results. She said that I need to see an endocrinologist to begin treatment.

I immediately started back on the Atkins like diet of very low carbs and nothing with "raw" sugar in it. I lost 10 pounds.

I have not yet gone to see the endocrinologist, but I am having a procedure for a bladder polyp and the urologist tested my blood sugar and it was 108. This was about two weeks after the first test of 127. My blood pressure had also come down from 147 over 85 to 132 over 72.I am going to the endocrinologist in March (first available appointment).

Today I had a cup of tea with equal and heavy cream and some cheese balls. I was working and that was all that was available. I came home around 8 pm and was preparing dinner, when I suddenly had all the symptoms of a low blood sugar attack. I got shaky, felt weak and started sweating. I have had low blood sugars many times (before getting a diabetes diagnosis) so I recognized the symptoms. I at 4 small sugar coated candies and the symptoms subsided.

My question is, why if I am diabetic, am not on any treatment, just following a very low carb diet, would I have a low blood sugar attack? Is it reactionary from the cheese balls? I'm very confused by this. Any input/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

My husband does camouflage work. A friend of his at work gave him a gun stock to camo.

My husband sanded the gun stock to get it ready for painting. He primed it with a good primer and it looked great. After he let the primer dry and went back to start painting he noticed that there was a one inch spot on the stock that had bled sap through the primer.

He resanded that area and put on some bondo to seal it. It was fine for a few days, and now the sap is coming through again.

Does anyone know why this is happening in just that one place and how to get it to stop so he can finish the stock for his friend. He has never had this happen before and he has done many gun stocks!!

Please help!!! All ideas of how to resolve this are welcome!!!

My husband was in the hospital for 31 days from October 13 to November 13th 2000, and I visited everyday. I usually stayed until about 11 pm.

I would always go home the same way, on a deserted highway, meaning there was grass and trees on both sides. One night I was driving home and I saw a car on the side of the road. On the slope going up to the tree line there was a person that appeared to be carrying another person up towards the tree line. They were actually carrying this person like you would dance with someone when you were a child. In other words with your feet on top of theirs as if they you standing on their feet.

I drove on by and never did anything about it, but it has bothered me for the past 11 years. I can remember the car, that they guy had dark hair and the other person was dressed completely in white.

I am now thinking about telling the police, but I'm not sure if they would even be interested and I no longer live in that state. What should I do? Will I get into trouble for not saying something sooner? Could it have been completely innocent? I just don't know what to do?

What would you do? And how would you do it.

I use Google Chrome.

The scroll button on my mouse just suddenly stopped working correctly. If I press it it sometimes shows a circle with 4 arrows in it. Sometimes it just shows four arrows. Sometime it will scroll up, but not down. Sometimes it shows a ball with an arrow top and scrolls all over the page. Now it will not scroll at all. I cleaned the ball and blew out the inside of the mouse with air, but nothing works. HELP!!!

My little toy poodle loves to go to sleep in my arms with me holding her like a baby. While she's sleeping she sometimes sucks like she's nursing. I would love to be able to hold her and give her a bottle, but I'm not sure what to put in the bottle and how to get her to suck on it. She will sometimes suck on my finger if I put it in her mouth while she's sucking in her sleep.

I know, I know, everyone going to think I'm crazy, but this is just something I really want to do. I live in South Carolina and there is a place that you can go to have your picture taken with a full grown tiger. They give these 500 pound tigers a bottle and they love it, so there must be a way to teach a 3 pound dog to take a bottle.

Any ideas?

My little poodle puppy sleeps with me at night. She likes to sleep either with her body across my neck or preferably, next to my head with the side of her face against the side of my face.

I have 3 other dogs and all of them slept with me when they were puppies, but I've never had one that wants to be in my face while she sleeps. If I move her down or away from my face she just moves back up to be close to my face again.

I don't mind it, I'm just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on why she wants to do this. I adore her and I'm hoping it's because she adores me too!!!

We are going to scatter my mother-in laws ashes on Sunday at a horse farm where her horse was buried. I wrote this and I just want to be sure that it will sound ok and not hokey.

My little toy poodle was born January 26, 2011, I took her home when she was 8 weeks old, on March 26. She weighed 1 lb 8 ozs when I took her home, and managed to get all the way up to 2 lbs 3 ozs.

I took her right from the breeder to the vet. She had a little sore spot on her belly, but they said she appeared to be healthy. They put her on Clavimax every 12 hours for the skin infection.

However, she constantly had loose stools, so I had her tested and treated for every parasite or reason for loose stools in puppies. The tests were negative. Someone suggested feeding her hard cheese to harden up her poop. She loved it and eventually it did work.

They she got an ear infection. Pretty bad, so she was getting ear drops every 12 hours.

They she got what appeared to be a head cold. Her lymph nodes were very slightly swollen. She was sneezing and coughing.The vet continued with the clavimax. It wasn't helping the skin or the cold, so they did an xray and discovered that she had pneumonia.

The vet then put her on clindomycin and cephalexan every 12 hours. She took this for two weeks. The ears cleared up from the drops and the skin infection improved greatly but did not completely go away. The hacking and coughing got worse. The vet re-xrayed her and said the pneumonia was 80% better and renewed both the prescriptions.

She took the medicine for a couple of more days, until Sunday, June 26. She had a good day, actually holding her little tail up and wagging it in spite of the hacking and coughing.

We went out for a few hours and when we returned that evening, she was lying in her crate, covered in drool, her gums were white and she was cold. Her eyes were wide open and she was having mild seizures. She was just one breath away from death.

We rushed her to the emergency vet at 9 pm and they immediately started her on a dextrose and ampicillin iv. They xrayed her and said that her heart appeared a little enlarged and that she had a very bad case of pneumonia. Her phosphorus was more than 2 times the limit, she was slightly anemic and her white count was at 26000 which is high. At 3 am she lifted her head and at 6 am tried to sit up. She was still having small seizures when we picked her up at 8 am. We took her to the regular vet and they continued the iv, but the seizures became much worse and she was totally unresponsive.

We had no choice but to put her to sleep on Monday afternoon.

Does anyone on here have any idea what might have been wrong with this little dog?

I'm heartbroken and I need to know what was wrong. We did everything we could think of to get her better, but nothing worked. The vet said an autopsy would probably only show the pneumonia and I could not bear the thought of her being cut open, so we had her cremated so that we can keep her with us always. She fought so hard to get better and survive and her little spirit was 100 times bigger than she was. Whatever it was it just overwhelmed her till she couldn't fight it anymore. I can't bear it.

My little 2.2 pound toy poodle has a head cold. She is having trouble breathing because her nose gets stuffed up. The vet checked and her lungs are clear. She also has a skin infection that causes pus filled blisters to form on her belly and other little spots on her tiny body. I have taken her to the vet and she is being treated with antibiotics (Clavimax) for both of them. She will eat canned food (she normally eats dry, but I'm giving her the canned food because her glands are swollen and I think the dry food is hard for her to swallow), but she is just so listless. She just wants to either be held, or stay in her bed. I am so worried about her. She is so wobbly on her feet. She is so tiny and fragile and I love her so much, but I am at my wits end. I also give her some nutrical to try an give her some energy.

I feel that she has nothing to fight with. She had lost 1/10 of a pound when I took her to the vet last Friday. I'm afraid she won't survive and the vet can't give her anything else but the clavimax because she's so little.

What can I do to make her feel better and decongest her tiny little sinuses? The vet said I can't give her any decongestants because the dosage would be impossible to figure out and she doesn't want to overdose her.

Please give me any ideas you may have. I will run them past the vet. I had to put one of my doggies to sleep in March and my husband bought me this darling little dog because I went to see her and fell in love with her. I don't want to lose her too.

Did my dog know he was dying?

I had to have my dear sweet doggie put to sleep on Thursday. He was 13 years old and never showed any signs of being sick. Then on Thursday, my husband put him out at 5 am and I let him back in. He was fine. Then at 10 am when I went to his crate he had pooped, which is very unusual for him, but he managed to get out of the crate. I looked at him and he was very unsteady on his feet and only made it about 20 feet to the kitchen and layed down. I gave him some water and told his to come on and go outside. He got up, when outside, down the stairs onto the patio and peed. Then he just stood there for a few seconds, dropped his head and layed down on concrete. He could not get back up so I carried him inside, but he could not stand up anymore.

I called the vet, by now I was hysterical, and they said to bring him in. So I took him in and they examined him and said that he was very tender at his belly, that his gums were very pale and they needed to xray him as quickly as possible to see if they could tell what was wrong.

The xray showed a HUGE tumor and they told me they needed to do surgery to see if it could be removed. They told me that if they didn't do the surgery, he was probably not going to make it. They took him in for surgery and the vet came out and told us that the tumor was filled with blood and had attached itself to his spine and other organs and that they could not remove it.

I had to make the terrible decision to let him go, so they put him to sleep while he was sedated for surgery. I had him cremated and he is with me here while I'm writing this.

The only thing that bothers me is if he knew he wasn't coming back home with us. It's eating me alive wondering if he knew he was dying. I feel like I took him to his death. I also wonder if it was insulting to him to have him cremated. I couldn't bear the thought of burying him and letting his body decay in the ground.

I'm so sad. I'm a Christian and I also want to believe that he is in heaven with my first husband that died back in 2000 and my two children that died when they were born.

I'm just so sad, I don't know what to do.

I am 61. My husband is 44. I want to start collecting social security next year when I turn 62. My husband will obviously have to keep working. Does anyone know how that will affect my benefit? Will it be reduced because he is working? Will his income count against me and push me over the income limit? I will be collecting on my own contributions.

If they choose to have an abortion after the first trimester, they will not be able to have it paid for by the system, and will not be eligible to receive monetary benefits.

Also, as part of the law, the mother of the child should be declared ineligible to collect welfare if she cannot provide the name and address of the father, so that he can be pursued for support payments. I am appalled at the way young girls today have sex with multiple partners, get pregnant and have no idea who the father is (I watch Maury because I'm fascinated by the lack of shame shown by the young men and women that admit to mulitple partners and illegitimate babies). They don't care because the tax payers are going to be FORCED to pick up the tab.

For those that have children born after the nine month date, they would receive benefits in the form of coupons for baby formula, diapers, food stamps, etc., until the child is five years old, but no monetary payments. They would also have to provide proof that they are actively attempting to/or receiving monetary support from the father of the child in order to collect the coupon benefits. After the child turns 5 and starts school, they would receive no more benefits unless they were actually employed, and then the benefits would still be in the form of food stamps only, until it could be shown that the support is no longer necessary.

Any welfare recipient that is addicted to drugs or alcohol, would not even be able to leave the hospital with the child. This is for the protection of the child, not punishment for the mother. If they cannot get themselves into treatment (of course this would have to be provided for by the taxpayers) and show that they are recovered and able to care for the child within one year, the child would then be placed for adoption. Sounds cruel to the parent? Sound crueler to me to put the child in jeopardy with an addicted or alcoholic parent. (My parents had 130 foster children over the course of 20 years many of whom were the product of such addictive, abusive behavior, so I'm not just talking thru my hat here).

Naturally, you will have a LOT of people that will immediately become pregnant to take advantage before the law affects them (get one more in so to speak), but after that, I believe the numbers would drop off dramatically.

This would provide plenty of jobs for social workers, recovery centers, coupon printers, and private investigators trying to find the absent fathers to make them support their children.

Please don't take this wrong, I'm probably the least prejudiced person you will ever meet. I'm also a victim of thinning hair. So, my question is: why does it seem like a lot of African-American parents pull their infant daughters hair into such tight braids, pigtails, etc., that leaves huge "parts" in their hair where no hair appears to be growing?

It looks very cute with all the braids, pigtals, bows, etc., but it seems to me that they are dooming their children to a life of thin hair. Constant stress on the hair can cause hair loss that does not grow back (http://www.haircycle.com/Blog/tight-pony-tails-hai... I would not want my parents to do that to me in infancy (I see babies 3-4 months old with their hair tightly pulled into 4 or 5 ponytails) so that when I'm older I have no choices in my hair styling because I have hardly any hair.

Again, I'm not prejudice and I'm sure there are other ethnic groups that do things to their childrens hair that could cause permanent damage, but I just notice it more with African-Americans. The babies look cute, but I think it's sad if it causes them to lose their hair before they even get a chance to choose how to wear it.

Duke University researchers found a link between how a key stock index performed and how many heart attacks were treated at their North Carolina hospital shortly after the recession began in December 2007 through July 2009, when signs of recovery emerged.

I was just curious. Don't blast me, I'm just thinking about it and decided to see what everyone else thought.

Last night I dreamed that a huge round black cloud was over my neighborhood. It was a cloud that you knew was going to form a tornado. In fact in my dream I knew that there was a tornado warning. The cloud itself was as dark as night and you could see the sky around it. I remember thinking that at last I was going to see what a tornado really looked like, and that I was probably going to die because it was going to swallow up my neighborhood. Then the dream got really weird.

Instead of one giant tornado, a bunch of small skinny twisters started to come down out of the cloud. When they hit the ground they turned into soldiers dressed in black and gray camouflage. They had guns, but it was like the guns were actually part of their bodies (sorta like if you were holding a gun and looking at your shadow on the ground so it would seem that the gun was part of your body). They hit the ground and started to run across a field toward where we were standing on the back porch of our house. As they advanced across the field, skeletons would rise up out of the ground, and they would know them to pieces. In spite of them continually coming down in the small tornados, they never seemed to increase in number or reach the other side of the field.

Then I woke up. I have no idea what would make me dream something like that and I just wondered if anyone had any ideas. I'm not crazy, I'm just a normal everyday person, no drugs, no drinking, just working and living my life.
