Is it possible to just make one cup of coffee with my 8-cup french press? How do I measure out the water and coffee grinds for just one cup? Thanks!
1 AnswerNon-Alcoholic Drinks7 years agoCan I mix different shades of red for my living room?
I just moved into my first apartment and want to make sure my colour schemes work. I have a bright red armchair, but all my other red accents are more of a maroon/darker red. Does it matter if they are different shades? Would it look weird?
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling8 years agoIf there is central heat and AC in building do you pay extra for it?
I submitted an application for an apartment in Toronto which does not include hydro, but it includes water. The building has heat and A/C which is controlled in each apartment unit by the tenant. Does this mean I would have to pay extra for the heat and A/C or is it included in the rental cost?
I'd like to know before I sign my lease.
1 AnswerRenting & Real Estate8 years agoIs it a serious problem if I have numbness on my big toe?
My right foot, big toe is numb along the left side only. The nail, I've noticed, is partly black. This happened after a pedicure I had in August this year. Is this a sign of something? I am going to see a doctor, but wanted to get a sense of whether it is a serious problem and whether anyone else had something similar happen to them?
1 AnswerOther - Diseases9 years agoIs it okay to call and thank someone for their service?
I rented a car when i was on vacation and i didn't get a chance to say thanks to the guy i rented from. He was extremely nice and gave me a great deal. It's been 4 days since i left that place. Would it be weird if I called to say thanks? Or would they appreciate that?
4 AnswersEtiquette9 years agoIs there enough stuff to do in LA to be busy for 2 weeks?
I have two weeks off and I am going to go to LA. Is 2 weeks too much time to be spending there or should I make a 3 day pit stop in Chicago (also somewhere i've wanted to visit).
In LA i'm planning on visiting beaches, disneyland, universal studios, museums, hollywood blvd, etc.
5 AnswersLos Angeles9 years agoIs it okay to let my kitten act as normal 4 days after spaying?
She was spayed on Monday. It's now almost Saturday so almost 5 days and she's acting completely normal and wanting to play. She's actually being very hyper and jumping on the couches and table and stuff. Is it okay to let her do that or should I lock her in a room? I've locked her in my room for the past 2 nights and she keeps wanting to get out even though I have a litterbox, food and water in here. Her incision looks like it's healing fine to me so should I be treating her as normal? I'm not playing with her until her 2 weeks are up though.
2 AnswersCats9 years agoWill my kitten forget me and my house if she leaves for 2 days?
She was just spayed today, but I won't be at home to take care of her because I have work. I'm leaving her with a friend for 2 days. Will my kitty still remember me and be familiar with my house when she returns? She has her favourite sleeping spots and knows my family members' rooms and schedules. I don't want her to forget.
8 AnswersCats9 years agoWill my kitten be stressed if I leave her at a friend's place for a day after spaying?
My kitty is being spayed tomorrow. I want to stay home to take care of her so badly the following day, but I have work and can't take a day off. I don't want to leave her alone so I'm giving her to a friend to take care of her for the night and the following day. Will she freak out when her grogginess wears out and finds herself in a strange place? My friend is amazing with cats and has lots of experience with them. She's very friendly and has 4 other cats (one of which is her mother and another is her brother..this same friend delivered my kitty when she was born and hand raised her till I adopted her). She hasn't been around other cats since she was 2.5 months (she's now 5 months). Will she be okay?
4 AnswersCats9 years agoWhat do I do if my kitten is in heat?
She's being spayed tomorrow, but what should I do in the meantime? She isn't howling just yet, but she's showing early signs of being in heat. Like she's rolling around on the ground, rubbing her head on everything, making meowing sounds (she's normally very quiet) and her tail is often to the side or sticking straight up. I feel like she's being tortured by being kept in the house. I feel bad. I only have to endure this for 16 more hours, but I want to do something to calm her down. Any advice?
2 AnswersCats9 years agoWill kitten be less affectionate after spaying?
My 5 month old female kitten loves to play more than anything. But when she wants to sleep and when i'm around, she like to cuddle up with me and sleep. I love it because she's so small and adorable, but I'm worried that when she's spayed she won't be like that anymore. What effects does spaying have on a kitten?
7 AnswersCats9 years agoHow long can probiotics be left out for my kitten?
My vet gave me some probiotic supplement in powder form. He said to add water to it and mix the paste with dry food. Since I free feed my kitty, would it be okay to leave this dry food/probiotic paste mix out in room temperature? I know I should ask my vet, but it didn't even occur to me until just now. My kitty eats more, it seems, at night when we're sleeping so I've left some out for her overnight, but I'm worried that it'll go bad or something. What do you guys think?
1 AnswerCats9 years agoAntibiotics not working for kitten diarrhea?
I have a 4.5 month old kitten and she's had wet stool for about 3 weeks now. I took a fecal sample to the vet and he told me that there are no parasites, so it must be a bacterial infection. He gave me antibiotic pills to give her twice daily and he also gave me Medi-Cal fibre cat food. She's been taking both for 4 days now. Sometimes her stool is normal, but sometimes it's still wet/liquidy. Isn't it supposed to be getting better now? I'm so worried about her. The vet keeps telling me not to worry and that she'll be fine, but she's a baby and i'm worried that her poop is not looking normal! When is it supposed to be completely better? Thanks in advance.
4 AnswersCats9 years agoHave I waited too long to get my cat dewormed?
I adopted my kitten last week. She's now almost 13 weeks old. I took her to the vet yesterday and she got a Feline Rhinotracheitis Calici Panleukoenia Vaccine (sorry don't know if there's a short form term for this shot) and a physical examination. Everything was fine. Then I took her home and my friend asked me whether she was dewormed. I did some research and found out that kittens are supposed to be dewormed often. I have no idea why my vet didn't tell me about this. I assume that it was because this vet is covering for the real doctor and accidentally neglected to tell me. Is this a serious problem? Should I take my kitten back asap for deworming? She's an indoor cat and seems perfectly healthy. Thanks in advance for responses!
4 AnswersCats10 years agoIs it possible for Cold FX to make my cold worse?
I started taking it about 3 days into my cold, but it's making my symptoms worse. I feel like i've progressed many stages into my cold since taking it. Is this what's supposed to happen before it gets better?
1 AnswerInfectious Diseases1 decade agoWas my hair supposed to be cut this way or did my hair dresser make a mistake?
My hair was long and after the hair cut, it's right at the top of my neck. I liked the cut when I left the salon, but when I got home, I noticed that the back side (longest layer) is not even. The left and right sides are slightly longer while the middle is shorter. Do you think he meant to cut it that way? I'm going back to him tomorrow to ask, but wanted to know what you guys thought.
2 AnswersHair1 decade agoIs it supposed to take this long for my Sony Vaio battery to charge for the first time?
I bought my laptop yesterday. As soon as I got home, I put the battery pack into the computer and plugged the AC adapter into the outlet. I believe it said that it was 42% percent charged at that point. I left it plugged in while my computer was shut down overnight. I also charged it for about 5 hours today and it's charging at this very moment. In total, it's been charging for a good 14 hours. Why is the orange light still lit up? The little icon says "99% available, plugged in, charging." There's no way it actually takes this long..please help!
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoHow do I thank a professor for a recommendation letter?
I have three professors to thank for writing me recommendation letters for grad school. I was accepted into all schools. Should I send them an email letting them know about the offers AND send them a thank you card? Or would a thank you card be enough? Normally, I would just send a thank you card, but the academic year is now over and I am not sure if they will be in their office to receive the card right away if I mail it.
Let me know what your suggestions are. Thanks in advance!

I had all four wisdom teeth extracted about 2 weeks ago, but the tooth beside the top right-hand side one is hurting me right now when I bite down. I have no idea why. Is this normal? It just started today.
