I have always loved taking care of animals. I have been working at an animal hospital for 19yrs but I want to do something more. I want to help the abandoned or abused animals. They deserve far much better then some of the owners who take them in.

How do I go about becoming an animal control offier??

Is there schooling or do I have to become a cop first but deals w/more that field??

I recently went to Wisconsin for vacation and I visited some areas were amish people were selling farm fruits and etc or homemade furniture. I noticed on different areas around the neighborhood there was women wearing different colors of clothes. I was just wondering what they mean??

Like some had green and others blue or some red...whats the meaning...or does it go by age??

I have alot of knee issues and I heard glucosamine is good to take. Although I dont know what brands are good.

I have sore ness in the inner part of my right knee. At times it does lock up on me where I have to walk without bending my knee. Plus the knee makes bone crunching noises when I bend my knee or walk up stairs.

I did plan to go to the doctor but people have been telling me there isnt much they can do cause it might be arthritis. I am in my early 30's.

So I wanted to give the glucosamine a try.......any suggestions??

I have been interested in Polydactyl's since I 1st saw them. I have always owned cats but never one of this type. My question I have is simple.....how do you like yours?? Any thing of reason you can say I should or shouldnt get one??

You see I always had 3 cats at a time. I had a 18yr old and 15yr old when I adopted a 6 month old that nobody seemed to want cause she was shy. Well last year my 18yr old had to be put to sleep cause she had a stroke and this year my 15yr old had fluid built up in her chest and had hard time breathing. So I put her to sleep. So now I just have 1 cat and I want to get her a friend. So I went to a shelter and I found this 4-7yr old (shelter unknown to real age) calico that is a polydactyl. She was very shy but well mannered. I do plan to go back and adopt her but I dont know much about these Polydactyl's so any info I thank you!!

I was in an on and off again relationship with this guy for a few years. The relationship died cause I fell out of love with him cause he would always put work before me. Well I guess to prove his love for me he purposed to me. But it was far too late I didnt love him anymore.

Well after being separated for a few months I heard he got married. It ends up he just wanted to be married to just anybody by the time he turned a certain age. His step mom told me this. She really wanted me part of the family, but even she knew her step son screwed it up.

I was happy for him and he had 4 step kids to the bride he married. So whatever I moved on. I found love and I have been in my relationship now for 8yrs.

However throughout my time with my knew relationship my EX has been stalking me. He waits outside my work. The girls I work with said they have seen him walking around circles around the work building. NEVER coming inside. He stands there and stares at me NEVER speaking a word. Many times he has been spotted around the area of where my boyfriend lives.

I got fed up Everytime I turned around there he was and he always gets caught when at times he tried to hide. He would call my work constantly lucky for me I didnt get fired.

So I applied for an order of protection. It didnt seem to do sh*t He still came around. And instead of being arrested they warned him. I felt like what the hell iss the use of the order of protection if your not protecting me.

By the way when standing in front of the judge to recieve the order of protection my EX's new wife stood by him and blamed it on me. Saying I wanted him back and I was jealous which is so not true I am very much in love with my boyfriend then I ever was with my EX.

So my question is What do I do to stop this crap if the order of protection doesnt do a damn thing for me????

I dont know where he is currently living or working so to confront him or his wife wont be possible.

I havent been to a doctor for my knee pain I have had for a number of years. It seems to be getting worse. I plan to go see a doctor but I first got health insurance and they wont help me till I have been part of their plan for a year (which wont be till November).

Issues with my knee:

1. Going upstairs my knee makes bone crushing nosies and cracking

2. My knee locks up at times where I cant bend my leg at all

3. If you hold the ball of your right knee my pain I feel everyday is to the left side and back side and on top of the ball of the knee.

4. Laying down my knee gets stiff and it hurts to stand up (for a few minutes)

5. Sitting and crossing my legs puts me in ALOT of pain on the left side of my right knee

6. Also while standing up I bend my knee and it feels like a big weight is attached to my leg so I cant raise it higher then a few inches without serious pain

As far as I can remember I have never suffered an injury to that knee. I am in my early 30's so I dont think it would be arthritis. But again I have had this knee problem for a number of years.

Any ideas of what you think could be causing all the pain of the bone crunching noises as I go up stairs???

I will see a doctor in November when my insurance will finally help me but till then has this happened to you or anyone you know.??

I am 6 ft 3 inches tall. I am suppose to weigh 200 lbs. I currently weigh 240 lbs. I have never had children I get my weight I assume though my mom side of the family. Cause my sister weighs 90 lbs and she gets that from my dads side of the family (lucky her). Anyway I want to start working out but I dont know how. I do have some concern cause I have a curved spine. So like doing sit ups is triple the pain running through my back as soon as I start.

My main area I want to lose weight from is my stomach of course and my inner thighs.

Just looking for ideas of how to start my 1st day of working out

I want to do this cause the weight I noticed is slowing me down and I am always tired. I am tired of be tired. Plus my knee has been bothering me for some time now and part of me is starting to think its cause of my weight. The odd thing is below my knees and my arms are normal sized. Its just my stomach and thighs with the weight issue.

We recently had our only bathroom gutted due to mold issues. Since then I when I go to bed every Sunday night I wake up Monday mourning with mosquito type bites on my body. I took Benadryl and throughout the week the reddness goes away and so do they but like every Monday mourning I got new ones. I get them on my neck chin arms hands fingers ankles and feet. NEVER my chest or back or legs. They are like one here one there NEVER in a cluster or two next to each other.

They are double time itchy then a mosquito bite and when I take a shower they feel like little fire balls.

They cant be bug bites for the reason of my boyfriend and 4 family members havent gotten any since this started 3wks ago.

I have gone to the doctor and he didnt know along with 2 other doctors he brought in the room to see if they knew. Nobody seems to know and its driving me crazy. Every damn Monday I wake up they are there. Not to mention I get more throughout the day. I dont understand why it only happens Sunday into Monday mourning when I am at sleep.

Does someone please know what it might be????

I have to go to work with this crap on my neck and chin. I cant take it anymore.

I havent eaten or drank anything different.

By the way their is NO mosquito's it is winter and its way too cold for them to be out.

This ISNT bug bites either cause my boyfriend never has gotten them and I washed everything you could think of in my bedroom.

One other thing my boyfriend isnt to blame here cause I am at home sleeping alone when I wake up to them.

I live in a house with 4 other people. This Wednesday will make a week that I started to get these mosquito looking bites. I am the ONLY person with this issue. We recently gutted our bathroom do to a mold issue and it happened around that same time, But why only me.

I woke up and found 20 looking mosquito bites on my left elbow. I thought maybe it was spider bites cause its winter weather by me now and no mosquitos. I just ignored it thinking it was spider bites. Then following days I got more while sleeping and at times just sitting or walking.

I have them on my arms, neck, hand, fingers, feet and ankles. They like I said look like bug bites and they pop up just whenever. My family and my boyfriend are fine.

I did go see the doctor and I had 3 doctors in front of me not knowing what caused it or what it is. They kept saying bug bites "maybe" but how can they just appear like magic.? They are light shade of red. Once they appear within hours they lose their redness and go away. But its going on a week and I am still getting more.

Any ideas?? Anyone ever have this before??

I am absolutely positive I dont want to have children. I have been on birth control for too many years. My gyno told me I have to really think about using other stuff to prevent getting pregnant but they are not for me or they themselves have their own side effects. I just got a new health insurance company and when I called today to imform about th surgery to get my tubes tied they told me they will NOT help me. Needless to say I got pissed being the last health insurance I had didnt pay for a damn thing so I dumped them and now I feel like I am going through a repeat only with a new company.

I mean my gyno said I am putting myself at a health risk and a higher chance at getting cancer. I no I dont want kids. I am trying to avoid this future health issue and these a**holes wont help is Bullsh*t.

So my question is if I do this on my own does anyone know how much it cost to get your tubes tied WITHOUT insurance????

I went in for my yearly pap test. I forgot to ask my gyno what health issues would being on birth control pills do to me.

I have been on birth control pills for over 20yrs. I am 36yrs old. I dont want kids and neither does my boyfriend. I really dont trust condoms being they can break and so forth.

My gyno told me the birth control pills can put me at a health risk. Cause I have been on them for so long. I know he said the pills play around with your hormones but what is other side effects if you might know of any.??

I was given a choice remain on the pill for another 15yrs or use condoms or get some guard thing inserted into my vagina that is kept in there for 10yrs to avoid me from getting pregnant. I dont exactly care to have something inserted into me and stay in there for 10yrs it sounds nasty and gross. He said there is no side effects to that guard thing. BUT then I dont have to take the pills anymore and I wont need to tell my boyfriend to wear a condom. Tempting but I dont no about it.

So does anyone know what other side effects it will do to my health by continuing to stay on the pill.??? Thanks much

I live in IL near Chicago. I am trying to get a better career for myself. I already work at an animal hospital for a number of years and now I want the next step up. I need a community college cause that is all I can afford. Any good colleges you can suggest?? If you know of Triton College thats where I am close to. They just dont do the courses.

I am helping a friend that has cats living in her backyard. She doesnt mind feeding these strays but she and I have been working together to get them fixed and stop them from breeding. We caught 1 female mom a month ago and her kittens were old enough to have homes found for them. I kept them for a month cause they all had snot in their eyes and sneezed more then normal. I took them to 3 vets. Recieved 2 different eye medications nothing worked. They are healthy besides this little problem their having. I had them tested for aids and leukemia and it was negative and they were dewormed twice and already recieved their 1st distemper shot. They all play and eat good but these goopy eyes and sneezing just wont go away. So called another vet #4 now and they suggested the Viralys.

So I was just wondering if anyone else out there have tried this medication?

Please explain how long it took before your cat was better.

My cat is 18yrs old and I got her as a stray so many years ago. She has always weighed between 4 and 7 lbs her entire life. Honestly due to her weight I never thought she would live this long. However just last month she dropped past her 4lbs and weighed in at 3 1/2 lbs. She ISNT suffering she just a small cat. She still eats, drinks and uses her litter box with no problems. Her only problem is as many times I have brought her into the vet to get her teeth cleaned it never seemed to matter she still lost teeth. Well now she has like 5 teeth.

My question is being her health is actually going good I would like her to stay that way, but its hard for her to eat dry food and cat moist food. So I have been feeding her baby food. However just recently she decided she doesnt want the baby food which kinda sucks cause it helped her gain some of her lost weight back.

I need ideas of what I can feed her???

Moist cat food any kinda she gags on it. Dry food she manages to eat but not much. The baby food was like soupy and that she got by on but she just doesnt want lately.

I work at a vet and we are more so an animal hospital then a shelter but when people find kittens or friendly stray cats we offer to help find homes for them. Well one of our clients brought in a very shy but very friendly 6 month old calico kitten. She was spayed and updated on all her shots done by my boss. Then all she needed was a home. Unfortunately my b*tch of a co worker kept telling people who were interested that the cat was skittish. She was shy big difference. So she was having trouble getting adopted. 2 months went by before I decided to take her. I only didnt want her right away cause my cats are 17 and 15yrs old. Who is going to play with her...so anyway I brought her home today and of course the 2 I have are hissing at her. Well I gave her a separate food and water bowl and she did have some from both but even after I showed her the litter box twice she still hasnt used it. My cats tend to pee over board so I dont have a normal cat box instead its a 35 gallon rubber maid container. I have there cat tree next to it for like a step stool to get in.

Well this cat is so shy and afriad from the other 2 cats that I dont know how to get her to understand thats how she gets in.? Or should I go by a normal cat box till she gets used to the drill.??

I did show her the box by placing her inside but she still hasnt used it and I brought her home 5 hrs ago. She did go to the bathroom before I packed her up to leave though.

Ive been sick to my stomach for almost 3 months. I can eat but very little and I have to force myself to eat. I dont throw up I just feel ill. Yeah I know go to the doctor well thats my problem I have no money or insurance. I know I am not pregnant either I took 3 tests and they all said NO. And I have been getting my periods like normal. My stomach hurts when I bend over to like tie my shoes or if I carry something.

Does anyone know what it could be??

Ok I live in Chicago IL and behind a jewel grocery store lives 30 plus stray cats/kittens in this ladys backyard. I have spoken with this lady and she said they are not her cats. The cats just picked her yard to live and have their kittens. She said all was going fine till the beginning of this year a few cats became over welling numbers then she expected to ever happen. She feeds them but thats all. Well one day a lady I know was driving past and she saw someone throw a hot dog bun to some kittens and so she stopped to take a look (she helped stray cats for a number of years) and the lady of the property came out and they had a talk. The lady showed my friend her garage where she let the cats use as shelter and the lady mentioned about having 30 plus cats plus at the current moment 3 females are pregnant. Another friend of mine took 5 kittens from that yard that are just in very poor shape. Eye infections and stuffy noses. Medicate them and give them a better life. But the issue here is the others are not forgotten. I want to help them and fix them to stop their breeding. I want a place a rescue that will take and help the kittens. The adults look better then the kittens. I drove by and talked to the lady to and she said after they get fixed we could return them if we wanted cause she doesnt mind feeding them. So I beg anyone out there that knows a rescue to help trap and fix and save the kittens in the area of Chicago IL. The town in which these cats are breeding doesnt have the money to help and they dont much seem to care. Anyone know of a rescue or you work at one PLEASE give me numbers and names of these rescues.

I know go to a doctor most of you would say but the foot pain came at a bad timing. I just gave up my health insurance due to the fact that no matter what I went to a doctor for they refused to pay. So why give them my monthly payment you know. So if you have any information as to what the pain might be I would like to hear what you have to say. The pain is on the bottom of my heal and runs along the bottom right hand side up to my pinky toe on my right foot. All the pain is on the bottom of the foot. Today I woke up unable to walk without a limp. I didnt sprain anything and I work 45hrs a week yes on my feet but I have been working that many hours for 16yrs and I have never had foot pain before.

I have tried over the counter pain reliever and it doesnt even faze me.

Any ideas of why the pain and if this may of ever happened to you.
