  • Feeding a Corn Snake.?

Today I got a Creamsicle Corn snake. I've looked at many local "breeders" but just didn't feel comfortable with the ones that I talked to. I also looked at petsmart but again didn't feel comfortable as they where older and not well handled, we finally decided on going to a local mom and pop shop that breeds their own. I was able to handle him, siblings and both parents. He is the sweetest thing in the WORLD :D Though I might be biased on that. The only thing is that they live feed their smaller snakes DX How do I switch him over to F/T or at least dead with out force feeding him once a week. He's eating pinkies btw. Should I wait until he goes up a food size? I've read up on Corn snakes before I got him but I can't find a good site to tell me how to switch them.

  • Toy ideas(( for rats ))?

I run a small rat rescue and on 15 of my own so I know most of the basics for home made toys but I was wondering if any of you have creative ideas that you've used or maybe just store bought things that your rats particularly favor/love. Please no suggesting common things, I know about hammocks, boxes etc. I know all the basics. I am simply looking for some more creative ideas for either in cage toys or free ranged time that might not be commonly thought of or rats find extra entertaining.

Also, I am not looking for you opinions on owning rats I don't care! I will not tolerate rude unneeded comments about feeding them poison or shoving them somewhere explicit, any and all of these comments will be reported and rated badly

I currently have my betta in a ten gallon tank and was wondering what other fish I can put in there. First of all don't tell me 'the betta will kill EVERYTHING!' because I KNOW that is bull#hit. I am mostly wondering what I can add that wont kill my Betta or fight with. I'm looking for placid fish. Again no b.s about bettas I once had a betta in a community 40 gal with neons, tiger barbs ect. A female betta is out of the question BTW. Any suggestions?

  • What do you think about this?

I've asked this before but I want to know what other people think. Is this asking too much?

I am currently fostering 3 3-4 week old puppies. They are German Shepherd X Border Collie. I have 2 females and 1 male. They WILL NOT be going to a new home until 8-11 weeks of age. They WILL be neutered or spayed and they WILL have all current shots, be de-wormed/worm prevention and possibly micro-chips. There is no re-homing fee but I will be asking many questions to potential adopters. The requirement for adopting one of my puppies is that you MUST buy a puppy training book preferably a couple of them.. These puppies could grow up to be somewhere between 45 and 80 pounds. Just because you apply to adopt one on these puppies DOES NOT mean that you will get him/her. I will be matching each puppy to its proper home based on their personality and their specific needs. There will also be home checks for any or most possible adopters. These puppies will have a lot of energy and be VERY smart so you MUST have a back yard and I will most likely NOT be adopting to people living in apartments as these are not suitable apartment dogs. They will need physical and mental simulation. All puppies will be working on basic obedience, sit, leave it, stay. All puppies will be socialized will other dogs and many other animals including cats, rats and guinea pigs. They will not be socialized with many little kids ((We have none in the house)) but as puppies they will learn quickly. They will be handled and bathed daily as to get comfortable with baths and the type of handling your vet may do as well as basic grooming, brushing and clipping nails. They will be used to all sorts of noises, TV. Cooking, music, things falling ect. All puppies will come with vet records.

They will not be ready for another 5-8 weeks ((No exceptions so don’t ask)) but if you really fall in love with one of my puppies I think it is worth the wait. Also we will be more than willing to let you come visit us and chat with us so you can see where the puppy has grown up and also see their personalities. If you have other dogs they will be required to meet and be comfortable with the puppy. People approved to adopt one of my puppies are required to sign an adoption for stating that if anything should happen that they will contact me if the need to re-home/give away/or give to the pound so that I may reclaim the dog and re-home him myself. All adopters will be required to keep me updated on my puppies for at least 6 months and preferably provide pictures or allow occasional visits.

What I am looking for in a home:

    -Medium to Large backyard

    -Preferably oother dogs

-If you have dogs they MUST be up to date with all shots.((recorded proof must be presented))

-Preferably no kids under the age of 4

-Perferably Person(s) who understand the needs of either breed or both combined

-Perferably Person(s) who have had or have these types of dogs before.

-Preferably a person(s) who has a large plot of land such as a ranch, farm or just a couple of acres

What will get you automatically rejected:

-Current dogs that are not up to date with shots

-Intent to train as a guard dog

If you think I am asking a lot then I'm sorry. These pups where found in a box and I'm going to make sure they NEVER end up in that situation, or worse, again.

  • Why would anyone....?

    Be afraid of my dog?

    http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k136/Heartlessmu...

His name is Wrath and he's a shelter dog. His ears came that way and everyone seems to be afraid of him even though he's the sweetest dog I know! But no body will give him a chance. Would you? I'm just wondering how you feel about pits.
