Gypsy: Wanderer, alien, 1 Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Priest: 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. I sin. Yet my sin is not counted against me. I am made holy! How can this be? Thanks be to Jesus Christ who has freed me from the sting of death! This freedom yields fruit. The fruit bares witness. The Holy Spirit also bares witness to the truth. I am not worthy of the mercy or the truth that God has given me. Yet I live in Christ and I have been chosen to bare witness to God's love. Why shouldn't the inhabitants of this planet reject such a one as me? But in being rejected I rejoice in being elected! MORE: http://gypsypriest.blogspot.com/ or click on my 360 up top.

  • been away a while and the format has changed; how can I see the entire question that I asked or answered?

When I click on a question that I asked a few years ago, only par of it is there. The same thing happens when I look at some of my old answers and want to see all of the question that was asked. the main part of the question may or may not be complete.

I want to know how to see everything.

There is a man and woman at the table.

There are a man and woman at the table.

My stance is that the verb 'be' should agree with the first noun 'man' as in the first example.

The ESL book I'm using, to teach my student, goes with the second example.

I've spent too much time scanning the web. Is there a site with a clear grammatical rule?

  • Christians, Quantum Physics and Spirituality?

My question is, is this..."conclusion", which I have cut and pasted here, based on real, scientific evidence?

    CONCLUSION

The recent findings of Quantum Physics (especially Dr Bohm's work) about the universe being made up of an "interconnected unbroken wholeness", examples of Non-Locality phenomena (Bells Theorem) and the 'Observer Effect' implying that consciousness underlies all reality, has striking parallels with the ancient Esoteric concept that all reality is the manifestation of an infinite Singularity (creative principle) which I personally choose to call Source, and most others call God. However, none of this is surprising to those who have experienced the 'Oneness' associated with some sort of deep spiritual experience or holotropic state.

    I got it here:

  • Atheists, you may not really want to see the evidence, right?

Maybe you're not reading slow enough. It's important that you get this, so read carefully and thoughtfully; no speed reading.

    Let's try again.

    You say you want evidence?

Adj. 1. evident - clearly revealed to the mind or the (senses) or judgment...

    apparent, manifest, plain, unmistakable, patent

obvious - easily perceived by the senses or grasped by the mind...

(all of which will happen to the true spiritual seeker)

    2. evident - capable of being seen or noticed...

    observable, discernible

noticeable - capable or worthy of being perceived...

    (these also)

God has and does reveal Himself clearly to the mind, senses, spirit, understanding and judgment of all who seek Him.

He is the evidence you clamor for.

You keep saying where is the evidence.

And I keep saying The only one who can give you the evidence that will convince you, is God.

True believers -believe-. They can testify to what they have experienced and learned from the Holy Spirit. They can tell you of their confidence that Christ has been borne in them. If they are pursuing a strong relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ, they may be close enough to Him that their life is a testimony but they can not prove anything. It is the Holy Spirit, who is in the world to convince and to convict, who gives the proof. And if you truly want to know Him, He will do it.

Go ask Him, only if you really want to know.

    Some want "empirical" evidence;

The word empirical denotes information gained by means of observation or experiments.

Empirical data is data produced by an experiment or observation.

Until science includes serious spiritual considerations in their observations, they will still be groping in the dark ages.

If you want "empirical" proof, do this experiment: Ask God to convict you of your sin if He thinks you have any. Then, observe what He does honestly.

Jesus said to the religious people of his time, "You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,

(yet you refuse to come to me to have life)."

He made it clear that study, on it's own, is not the door. You must go directly to Him.

You say you looked for God but I'm sure you did it academically.

God is Spirit and those who seek Him must seek Him in spirit and in truth.

    Try again!

This time from the heart (a broken repentant one).

  • If you can?t question yourself about your faith, how will you be prepared?

As the scriptures say, "Be prepared to give an account for what you believe"

But if one is to afraid to challenge themselves on the things they believe, maybe they are really afraid that what they believe may be wrong.

If your faith is in Christ Himself, you have nothing to worry about.

On the other hand, if what you believe is based on what others have told you or on what you have read, maybe you should review your faith.

Is your confidence in what you have learned about the Redeemer or is it in the Redeemer Himself?

There is a difference and Jesus is the one who pointed it out to the religious people of His time.

  • Why is it, that Christians seem to be the ones who don't catch the drift?

Christians, please explain, if you can, why you, who should be able to understand a hidden meaning, constantly jump down my throat and chew me out, for trying to bring the truth to light by throwing a curve ball.

For example my recently posted bit about the Big Bang.

    3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years ago
  • Astounding information for Christians regarding the Big Bang?

I am so ignorant of obvious facts that any half wit should know and believe. For example, I had no clue that at some vague period in time... oops, sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself. at some time before time existed... I mean gee, how can a person word this?

    How bout like this;

Once upon a nonexistent time, there was a Quantum Vacum and apparently, nothing else. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, the Quantum Vacuum had a hiccup, or lets say, it Fluctuated. This caused a Big Bang and out of that event came all that we understand to be reality including time and infinitesimally tiny pieces of matter, which don't even exist in our reality but can be observed in two places in our reality at once. Not only this, but at the same time an endless number of alternate realities were generated.

Does this seem unbelievable to you?

To those who reject God, it makes perfect sense.

    Enjoy!

  • Christians, what would you do if you secretly realized ...?

That every bit of doctrine you believed was off base or completely wrong except for the death and resurrection of Christ on your behalf?

How important is (what you have been told) compared to the truth of the salvation freely given by God through Jesus?

  • What do unbelievers know of the QVF and Christian views about it?

Yes, I did ask this question already but I think it is important in understanding the make-up of the universe.

Does the "Quantum Vacuum Fluctuation" (referred to here after as QVF) REALLY EXIST?

Christ in all His glory will vanquish the false god QVF!

Either that, or He will explain how He created the it.

    Are ya with me Christians?

If you're not sure what the QVF is, go to google and type it in or look up the "Big Bang" THEORY.

Apparently, some poor souls have been duped by the intelligentsia into believing that this QVF is an absolutely provable and understandably explainable reality. They believe that by the power of the QVF all things came into existence including time and faith.

The truth is, the unknown factor in all of sciences theory's and "proven" laws is the parallel universe called God's spiritual domain.

    Amen! and Amen!

  • Brilliant Christian mind or simple spiritual truth?

Just looking at some info about the expanding universe and Hubble's law and one article stated that it is believed by scientists that time and space are not part of the physical world as we understand it; They were created at the "Big Bang" (I think I ate at that restaurant once - It's in Portland Oregon isn't it?)

Anyway, this reminded me of another fact I read in a book called "Particles" (an enlightening read).

In that book, the writer -Michel something as I recall- says that some scientist believe that the very building blocks of matter are not even from the physical world as we know it.

Many scientists talk of parallel universes and a quantum pile of other -almost mystical- ideas.

In the first century AD, Paul (some crazy Jewish Zealot who claimed to get knocked off his donkey by a bright light and a voice, which turned out to be the voice of none other than the risen prophet from Galilee named Jesus who had been crucified and buried a short time before) wrote in a letter to some of his followers, that faith is actually a fabric; a building block of hope, an intangible reality. He claimed that, with this fabric, referred to as faith, we can understand that the physical universe was actually created by some kind of invisible substance.

My question is: If brilliant minds believe in parallel universes,(an infinite number of them) particles that can be omnipresent and big bangs that can create time, space and an infinite number of galaxies...

Awh forget it! Ya wouldn't understand my question anyway.

  • Christians, where is your evidence? How do you know for sure?

Has God revealed Himself to you?

    Do you have the assurance?

Is there a scripture reference, which lines up with your confidence?

Are you absolutely sure you will be in the presence of God

and not told to get out because He doesn't know you?

    How can you be sure?

Has the Holy Spirit given you the seal?

Are you convinced that Jesus died for you and

that His blood is all that is required for your purchase?

Have you been convinced by the Holy Spirit that Jesus rose from the dead?

Do you have the eternal life provided by God through Jesus Christ?

Who is sponsoring or hosting this "God's Stalk" Christian-Woodstock like thing?

Has anyone else heard of this thing planned for July 2012?

I will be there if it happens but what are the details?

Have any Christian bands signed up yet?

I heard it would be in "Holy Colorado", which is down in the far S.E. corner of the state.

The planners are running out of time. they better get with it!

  • Do the Scriptures teach us that Christ Himself is a witness?

    How strange

People who have never gone to God with the truth of their own weaknesses and asked Him for His proof, stand there and laugh at the millions who have and say there has never been any proof..

Christ Himself is the proof of His life death and Resurrection to any one who is willing to ask Him humbly.

He is the Divine Spirit who can touch a person and prove His presence, His divine authority and the truth of what is written of Him.

He Himself is the proof and the reward of those who seek Him.

    5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years ago
  • Are you a witness to the truth of Christ having risen from the grave?

If so, who gave you the info and how do you know for sure?

The reason Jesus gave the disciples for sending the Holy Spirit, was to give them power to be witnesses for him.

Don't seek the gift, seek the giver, is an expression Ive heard which I guess sounds ok. But

in this case, the gift is the same as the giver. So we may want to change that to...

Don't seek the sign that the gift has been given (tongues) seek the power and the reason it is given.

  • Would Jesus speak King James version English and consider it to be the holy language?

Why do so many insist on King James when the truth is that the letter Kills?

It is the Spirit Himself who gives life to the sacred writings regardless if it is in Korean print, Arabic, Spanish, English...

    Get over it people!

You seek the scriptures because you think that in them you will find eternal life but you refuse to go directly to Jesus!.

  • What did Jesus teach about Hell?

though He did cover the subject quite well, the thrust of His message was concluded when He gave His life, a perfect sacrifice, to reconcile man to God. The great gift and power He gives to any who truly ask for and want, is the gift of the Holy Spirit (Himself) Who proves to the hungry that, after giving Himself even in death, He also rose from the dead and was seen by witnesses.

God Himself is the proff which people need and seek.
