It is not my own WordPress blog - I only make postings to it. I know how to post in italics and in bold text, but I want to know the "before" and "after" characters that will enable me to display my text in colours, e.g., Red, please - thanks to anyone who can tell me.

My Mission FS-1 system plays sound from the 5 satellite speakers via the amplifier in the sub-woofer, but there is no bass coming from the sub-woofer itself.

Two questions: I have removed the 10 screws from the back panel but it will not open - is there a hidden fastener or is it glued or secured by some other means?

Also, any clues as to why only the bass is absent from the sound spectrum?

When I open Skype and click the green button to call a contact, we can see each other and they can hear me, but I cannot hear them. I have discovered that clicking the green button immediately causes the Tannoy Icon in my taskbar to get a red mark on it saying the sound has been muted. This is simultaneous with clicking the green button.

Have I inadvertently set something up to cause this?

And I have downloaded the latest version of Skype and re-installed it twice and I have e-mailed Skype support but without response.

Has anyone come across a source of spam called asiaonline.imsbiz.com which seems to support the generating of emails with random alpha numeric content in the sender's email address without revealing the sender's real identity? If so, is there a way of blocking such emails, especially when used to submit Forms with garbage content, or even of arriving at the sender's real identity? Thanks.

Whilst XP gives the option to Run or to Save a downloadable video file, Vista just seems to play it without the option. When connections are slow, this leads to stops and starts in viewing. Is there a Vista/Browser setting to offer the chance to Save instead of Run, please?

I used OJOSoft's Total Video Converter software to convert a .vob (Video Object File) file to .wmv format. I used the H.264 at 1150kbps option, and asked for a 4:3 aspect ratio. The resulting output file in .wmv format plays sound and vision on my XP Pro computer using Windows Media Player, but it plays in 2:1 aspect ratio, so all the frames are vertically elongated. Can anyone suggest why this should be and what steps to take to make the video frames display in the 4:3 aspect ratio please? Many thanks.

Would somebody please tell me which is the best format for the economic uploading of DVD files? At the moment, the DVD is contained in a .VOB file with a .IFO file to render it. What software will convert the two files into whatever is needed for quicker uploading please? The .VOB file is 495Mb in size.

It was running OK under Vista Home Premium until it got corrupted. I have tried to reinstall it, and the serial number accepts cleanly, but when it starts to install, nothing shows on the progress bar and after 5 minutes, it says it has encountered a fault and I must close it. Is there a registry key that needs amending perhaps? System Restore to a date prior to the corruption does not succeed (System Restore did not work). Any suggestions please? Thanks.

My Microsoft Office 2007 has got corrupted. If I reinstall it, from the CD (as it is telling me) do I lose all my existing Word and Excel file please? Thanks

I am trying to save a hyperlinked file from the Internet with Explorer and XP. I right click on the link, and get a set of options, but "Save Target as . . . " is grayed out. Switching off Norton does not help - what else could it be please?

I am refering to coding for a display panel of half a dozen randomly generated digits which the respondent has to enter in a box for verification. Robots are unable to get past this point and so are unable to get as far as the "Submit" stage. Thank you.

The Microsoft Outlook Express team says it will not handle web-based traffic from Hotmail after June 30th 2008 because it is disabling the DAV (Distributed Authoring and Versioning) protocol. They are offering Windows Live Mail in place of Outlook Express.

I have asked Incredimail to confirm that its IM client will still be able to handle Hotmail traffic, but in case the response is negative, do any answerers have experience of Windows Live Mail on this matter or any other feedback?

I have a list of e-mail addresses in a column in Excel. I want to add the contents of that list into an existing group mail of addresses in Outlook Express. Although the list is saved as an Excel file, it does not show up when I browse in order to import it. If I overcome that particular problem, I need to be sure it will import into the sub-group rather than the main address book. Can anyone advise me on these two challenges please?

Forums are suggesting the ATI graphics driver had something to do with the new iMac freezing and having to be rebooted.
