Read your American history and it's quite clear that all progress is initiated by the blue states, while the red states only try to impede said progress.

Damn, call it wishful thinking, but just imagine how much progress we could make.

One planet, in one solar system, in one galaxy, out of billions. One cell appeared. That one became many. The right animal found the right mate. The right sperm united with the right egg, every generation for 3 billion years.

If just one thing had happened differently, I would not be here. Someone else would be. And I brought something with me. I brought a brain with which to think, and hands with which to work. I have the ability to reshape the world.

I don't need a fantasy god to believe I have value. I know I have value. Real value.

It really doesn't surprise me, seeing as how all the anti-science fundies flock to the republican party. Birds of a feather...

It's because I'm not self-centered, and a little bit more in taxes really won't make any difference in the way I live. If someone else is in pain and I can help ease their suffering, then that's what I should do. It's the moral thing to do.

I don't see any reason why people can't continue with their current health plan if they choose to do so. If you don't want to have a government doctor, fine, then don't. But government doctors should at least be made available to those who would otherwise have no doctor at all.

There's a survivalist website I visit sometimes, not because I'm worried about zombies or Armageddon, but because they know their outdoor skills, and it's a source of information for me.

Many of them are fundies, and they have avatars that are pics of themselves posing with their guns. It just makes it that much harder for me to take them seriously when they start talking about Jesus.

I'm not a puppet. I'm a thinking man. Sometimes killing is necessary. Sometimes it's not. I'm not going to support unnecessary killing, especially not just because some hillbilly with a flag on his pickup truck tells me I should.

Real life isn't like a John Wayne movie.

When a republican wins an election, they expect everyone to shut up and fall into line. Anyone who disagrees with them is instantly unpatriotic. "Love it or leave" I believe is their favorite mantra.

When a republican loses an election, it's as if there never was an election. They still think everything should be done their way, regardless of the fact that the majority of voters have told them "no".

Believe it or not, I actually don't ask questions for the purpose of inciting hostility. I ask questions that I think are legitimate, and it just results in hostility on its own.
