  • Portable Air Conditioner Compressor hot, Capacitor bad?

Just bought it from a pawn shop. Fans all work, but I don't hear the compressor kick. Seemed like there was a slight power draw at first, but never kicked over and blew cold air.

The compressor is pretty hot. It's cooling now. Is it the capacitor?

  • Will Mold grow in My heat/AC vents on a concrete slab?

Last night my vents filled with water in a rain storm. My apartment is on a concrete foundation and the vents appear to be poured into the concrete. I have video of the water. When I turned my AC on it made the water slosh around.

There is no access to the vents because they're in the concrete, I don't think they even have ducting in them, just concrete.

Question; I have babies, Is this safe, can it be cleaned, should I just move, will mold grow in there with the heat & AC on?

Last winter my kids were sick with a cough a lot. I just assumed it was winter, but this apartment was empty for a year before I moved in. Now I'm worried I was just blowing mold into their little lungs.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. I'd hate to move, but will fro my kids.

Related links, sources, and information from experienced individuals is also much appreciated.

  • What kind of K2 should I buy and how much for my store?

Looking to sell some at my retail location and I don't know much about it other than it is not banned in my state (yet) and I think it's about 10$ a gram.

I'd like to find a wholesale deal. Anyone know of one? Also heard about "greenies" . Heard it was better, would like to purchase it as well. Also, I think it retails for 10$ a gram. Can anyone offer any clarity?

  • Can I get a home depot credit card?

I am a homemaker with no provable income at the moment. I have a few positive marks on my credit report from paid off cars, and a few smaller neg marks. I want to get a Home Depot card to help with some remodeling and build my credit. Would I be able to do this without a job?

  • How Much does KCP&L Charge to dig and bury the power line to your house?

Need to have this done on a place I'm remodeling. I need to replace the siding and trim where the meter box is. I figure if I can get them to bury it, I'm better off. When they're digging the hole, I'll hang the siding, then they put the meter box back.

Is this correct? Not sure where the power companies responsibility begins and ends. Either way I need to have the box pulled with as little out of pocket cost as possible.

    Suggestions?

  • A Little Credit Report 101?

Up until now I've always had bad credit. However, I want to turn that around. Got Kids now, want to offer them more than I ....yada yada

I got all three of my credit reports. Many things on my credit report are unpaid medical bills, many things are small amounts like 20 bucks (yeah, seriously), and many things "expire" soon.

    I want to buy a house in 24 months. Here's my plan;

Anything that expires before the 24 month period, let it expire (does that mean it just fades off into the abyss? Never to harm my credit score again? Can I do that?)

Then, pay the smaller fees first (because it's easy)

And take care of the larger ones over time.

So if my highly vague assumption of how my credit report works is correct, this will bring me to a clean slate after the 24 month period.

Now, I have to figure out how to build positive credit, quickly. Any suggestions on how I can do this with little spare cash and an existing bad credit report?

The loan amount will be for 35,000 dollars for a fixer-upper house. I hear it's hard to get a mort for an amount that small, but a loan of some sort will be needed. Maybe direction of this part is for another question.

  • Can I just write my terms out for a contract?

I'm writing a contract for rent to own on a property. The owner can't read. He's also a jerk. I don't trust him. Uneducated redneck who just happens to have something I want. No time to tell you how I really feel about him. He has made things very difficult and only recently agreed to sign a contract.

Some of my terms are that I don't want him out here why I'm keeping up my end of the contract, at least not without advance notice. I also want his broken down cars off of the lot. And if he breaches my contract, I want part or all of the funds paid toward the principal back either in payments or lump sum. I basically want to send him a check until I own the place, no further contact.

This place is in the middle of nowhere, but he's out here 2-3 times a week or more. He comes out and mows the lawn, though I have asked him not to (he mows over my flowers and whatnot). He said he wants to spray poison to kill poison sumac (which is actually stag-horn sumac), which is near my garden...where I grow food. He has been in my house when I was asleep. He pulls in here when he thinks no one is home.

We've been renting, but I've had enough. I said "You sign or I go" He said he will sign a contract. I just want to make sure my terms stick and I can take him to court with it if needed. I want to be left alone, but pay my part. A fair request.

The man is not very smart, not to be mean, but he isn't. He really can't read. Will need someone to read the contract to him. The place is beautiful and we want to stay, but not with these harassment problems.

So my question, written with an educated tone, can I just write out my terms and will they stick in court if he signs and notarizes the paperwork.

  • Can you provide the best deal on eBay for a T-Mobile Activation/Sim card.?

I don't know much about cell phones. I just call and hang up. However, I want to use this phone I just got for a T-Mobile Pre-Paid Service. Been looking on eBay and found this

    http://cgi.ebay.com/T-MOBILE-PREPAID-SIM-CARD-WITH...

Seems to be the best deal so far, but I dunno. If I buy this will I get a local number or have to choose the number that came with it. I also see that some say free nights or free mobile to mobile. Is that with all T-Mobile pre-paid phones?

Don't want to spend much more than 20 bucks. If you're just trying to get points on answers, maybe you could do a quick search and let me know if you find a better deal.

  • What are some Good Missouri outdoor landscaping plants for poor, hard, rocky soil.?

The soil on my land is very, very hard. Like clay just a few feet under. The soil was dumped on the lot 10 years ago and goes 10 feet down. It's a crushed rock/dirt mix. I grow grass and stag-horn sumac just fine, but not a plant otherwise on the 3 acres of land.

I want to landscape it with some fast growing flowering and otherwise unusual plants. I do favor Rose of Sharon, and honeysuckle bushes. However fast growing and the ability to stand up in my soil is priority.

  • Do you need light to start seeds in an incubator?

Growing a few different pepper seeds, petunias, rose of sharron, Magnolia, basil, and whatever else I come up with. I have a friend who starts them in incubators. Do I need light to do this? Heard some say to germinate with no light. I'm confused.

  • If I simply put a sim card in a t-mobile phone will it work?

Rather, should it? My phone works, but I stopped with the plan (boost is better and cheaper). I have a sim card with 50 mins on it. Do I need to call T-Mobile and have them activate the phone for pre-paid or should it just work? Doesit cost to have it switched to pre-paid?

  • What phone is cheap and good for internet? Boost Mobile Service.?

I live in a rural area and my internet co is.....well I'll refrain. My net has been down for over a week. The only way I could check eBay, mail, and so on was with a cell phone. I've decided to give it a shot myself. Boost mobile has an unlimited plan for 50 bucks, but which phone should I get? I don't need the camera, mp3, and all that jaz, but wouldn't mind. I need to be able to make calls, hang up, and check the net. Which phone should I use? I was using a blackberry. It was ok, but a far cry from an iphone. The better the surf, the better the phone. Any ideas? Know of a better plan? Does boost have those new 10" laptops?

  • What kind of plant is this?

I live in Missouri and this popped up in one of my garden beds. Seems to prefer cooler weather, blooms in the AM. I was told my soil was dumped from a nursery so who knows where it came from.
