My laptop turns on but the screen does nothing whatsoever. I've had the black screen of death before but it's not quite the same this time. I've taken battery, plug out and held on/off button for 30 seconds but no difference. I can't get onto safe mode etc. It just looks like the screen is broken, but I gave it to this guy who told me that a virus has broken it. I didn't think viruses could actually attack hardware so just double checking :)

My friend has gone away for 3 weeks and given me her turtle to look after. I think she just bought it on impulse and didn't really do any research.

and feeding a couple of dried shrimp/fish things from the pet shop every day.

I tried feeding it a bit of lettuce yesterday and it wasn't touching it but was eating his normal food (never been fed green's before) so today I soaked it in tuna juice and left it in with him, he didn't touch it at first but when I came home it was all gone :)

don't have a basking lamp yet but he has been living without one for months so should be able to manage a couple more days without one

What and how much food should I give him, how many times? I've been feeding him once every day with some dried shrimp and fish and a bit of lettuce but I've read you should give enough for them to eat for 15 minutes every 2 days but that seems like a lot to me?..

I'm moving to the UK next year with my horse. I live in a hot country where a rain sheet and turnout rug gets him through winter fine but I'm pretty sure it won't be so easy in the UK :p

I know a friend of mine in the UK uses quilts underneath rugs when it gets really cold..

Is there any websites which will give me info on different types of rugs and weights etc.?

Also, he will probably be fully clipped during the winter

I'm trying to convert tv episodes from .mkv files to .mov files in HD on 4videosoft but every time I convert an episode, the video is in slow motion and the audio in normal speed. Is there any way I can fix this so that the video and audio both run in normal speed?

What is the best diet for growing angelfish?

I just bought a angelfish..its about 1 and 1/2 inches...not counting fins

I have it in about a 8 Gallon tank in it's own just to make sure there's nothing wrong with it before I put it in my main tank with my other angels.

What's the best diet for it to promote faster growth? I have frozen bloodworms, Frozen brine shrimp (you can't get live food in the pet shops around here ) and lots of different flakes ..is there anything else I could add to my angels diets?

About 2 hours ago, my little sister spilt 7Up on my laptop.. It mostly went on the keyboard and screen..the laptop's screen went black but continued to play sound (she was watching a video) then it turned itself off within about 10 seconds..so I removed the battery and anything plugged into it and then turned it upside down and got some tissues to wipe up any visible liquid .. Then got my hair dryer and set it on cold and blew out quite a bit of water from my keyboard , any little holes around my screen and unscrewed the bottom parts of the laptop and dried that a bit but it seems the water didn't get into there..anyway it wouldn't turn on so I just left it sitting upside down for a while..now it turns on for a second and then shuts down but if I plug it in, it boots up and then takes me to a black screen saying 'no bootable device -- insert boot disc'

What shall I do? Luckily I don't have any important files on there but I would like to save the laptop if I can..

Okay so theres only one tack shop around where i live...its not very horsey around here but I want to buy a new riding hat.

I usually go to england every year but im not going this year but my dad is there now for work and asked me if i need anything..

i have never bought a hat before without trying it on soo im pretty new to this but i have measured around my head and its about

54cm..which i think is 6 5/8 in riding hat size..is this right?

also would it be better to get one size smaller which is ..53cm or 6 1/2

Ive had photoshop cs5 for about a week now and it has been working fine..before that i had cs3 and that too had no problems

yesterday i started getting an error saying "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable."

when i tried to open photoshop - so i held ctrl+alt+shift..and it worked after that

today i installed gimp..(need both photoshop and gimp)..

before i installed it (or while installing) i was using photoshop fine..

after i finished using photoshop i closed it, opened gimp and used that

now everytime i try to open photoshop it just wont :/ ive tried the ctrl+alt+shift several times and restarted but it just wont work..

photoshop stops responding when it reaches 'initializing...' and after a few seconds the error message comes up

what shall i do? shall i try and uninstall gimp and see if that helps?

i have no custom/downloaded brushes or fonts either..

My computer recently had KSOD...so i restored it to its original settings, therefore loosing all my programmes ect

I havent played sims for a while now but i want it back on my computer and want to play it again now :p

i found the box, but no disc in it...i knew where the disc was but its not there anymore...ive looked everywhere, turned the house upside down trying to find it but no luck :(

anyway, since i still have the box and the serial code...is there any way to get it without the disc? hahah

if not i will just throw a searching party for it :p

I just got a game called melbourne cup challenge/frankie dettori racing which is for windows 2000 & XP

but all my other games for xp work on windows 7

this one doesn't :(

it has installed but when i click on the icon, it tries to open but nothing happens..

i right clicked and selected troubleshoot compatibility and clicked try recommended settings.

It says settings applied: Windows XP (service pack 2)

but yeah it still doesnt work

shall i try a different setting?

or is there nothing i can do about it? :(

firefox seemed quicker but it just fails after a while on both browsers
