  • Does my State ID address have to match address on boarding pass?

My husband and I will be traveling by air for our vacation. The problem lies in our recent move to a new state. Today we went to have his license and my state ID changed to our new home. (We moved from Oklahoma to Texas) In the moving process I have lost my birth certificate and am not allowed to have my state ID changed until I acquire a new one. The processing and shipping time for a new birth certificate is said to take 10-14 business days, and Texas state IDs take 3-6 weeks after the time of applying for one.

    (now, after all of that....)

Our flights were booked with our new, current address, but my ID is still from Oklahoma. I won't be able to obtain my Texas ID before our flight leaves. Will my ID address and boarding pass info be compared or is my ID just there to prove that I am who I say I am? May seem like a silly question, but I haven't flown in over 11 years. Back when I didn't even need to take my shoes off to go through security or measure my shampoo for little bottles.

  • garbage disposal backup into bathtub?

So...I came home from work last night to find my bathtub full of chicken and noodle bits...The only reason I can really see for this is the garbage disposal backing up. I've tried plunging, tried cleaning out the drain...but to no avail, my tub just won't drain now.

The kicker is, i live in an apartment. sure, easy answer is to go to maintnence and have them fix it...and I did, first thing this morning. (didn't get home from work til 1am last night, went to maintnence about 8am this morning.) He tells me that he has too much work backed up for today and can't get to it until monday....so am i seriously without a shower until monday?!?!!?! Is there anything I can do myself short of calling a plumber? I've tried plunging, i've tried cleaning...I'm unsure how to get into the drain to use one of those snake things to see if that helps...

    suggestions, fix-its, advice?

  • Looking to move soon'ish...?

My boyfriend and I currently live in Oklahoma...paying about $480 a month for rent in an apartment.

We REALLY want to move to East Texas. Preferably looking in the Lake Jackson/Clute area.

The questions: What is the economy like there? (We both have jobs we can simply transfer to..so job hunting is not a neccessity) We're concerned with cost of living, rent, utility bills, etc...We want to find a good neighborhood that is also affordable.

    Also...

Are there ways to apply for apartments online or have applications faxed to us? We don't have the time to make trips down there multiple times to apply in person. (Yes, we know it is a risk without walking through an apartment first). My boyfriend is from the area, but he hasn't lived there in almost ten years.or more. We know things change, neighborhoods change, economy changes, etc...

any advice, suggestions, hints, tips..all welcome.

side note: We don't have any children. We already have steady jobs. -my- credit is a bit poor from a previous marriage (might effect potential apartment apps.)

  • Roommate/friend problem...?

I moved in here six months ago. At first, everything was FANTASTIC. Then...little things started building up.

First, I have two roommates. They are engaged to each other and live together. I have a boyfriend as well and we live together here too. so two couples.

Second, The other couple allowed me to move in here to help me escape an abusive relationship. I have more than shown my gratitude to them through words, actions, etc...

I have spent the past 6 months doing their dishes daily, not complaining when it's 80 degrees outside and they have the heat blasting at 90 degrees, and at first they cleaned their litter box daily...but lately they have been letting it go for WEEKS. Walking out of my bedroom is like walking into a brick wall of cat piss smell. Not to mention they are both unneutered male cats that have started spraying in my room if the door is left open.

One day I had enough and actually told them about the issues. I -politely- asked them to please do their own dishes, and to PLEASE clean the litterbox. (i did not want the cats, i did not ask for them, they are not mine in any way shape or form and they refuse to have their cats neutered). They got bent out of shape, we yelled back and forth a lot (which i have since appologized for). Now The female roomate isn't speaking to me any longer, and while they started cleaning up after themselves for a week or two..it is now back to normal. With the added effect of purposely leaving dishes, purposely turning on the heat...just to make my boyfriend and i uncomfortable.

So now that my ranting is done, here's the question....

How would you handle this problem? I've tried apologizing, small talk, jsut letting things be, etc...nothing seems to be helping.

    Serious answers only.

  • How do I handle such a touchy situation?

My husband and I met 3 years ago on a blind date. Obviously, things went well. Less than one month later we moved in together. At the same time we began dating, his ex-girlfriend gave birth to his son. Eventually, (2 years of court battles) my husband obtained full and legal custody of his son. (his son had already been living with us full time nearly from the begining). I had quit my job, and became a stay at home step-mom. I also used the money i had saved to put myself through college, for -him- to go to college. Furthermore, my father co-signed a vehicle loan for my husband shortly after he was finished with school. I relocated with him for his job. All sounds happily ever after....

Except, I am unhappy. To the point of wanting a divorce. He's a wonderful man, but I'm just not happy. And, I'm in love with my best friend. He lives 1242 miles away. Asked me to be with him. and no, I have -not- had an affair. Just in a touchy situation. Any advice?
