The one and only person on this earth I can change is myself...I'm one of those folks that choose to stop and smell the roses and Im not afraid to laugh at myself. After all, laughter is key to a joyful life.

  • Question about controlling the growth rate of a Leyland Cyprus...?

I want to plant a Leyland Cyprus tree in an 8 gallon plastic planter pot and then place the entire pot into the ground in order to control the height and width of the tree. Does anyone know if this will do the job? I only want the tree to grow about 8 or 9 feet max, so I thought if I keep the roots contained within the pot it should do the trick. Any advice/thoughts/experience on this sort of thing?

  • Where can I find vintage countertop tile in the Los Angeles area?

We live in a very old home and need to replace our kitchen sink, therefore we will lose some of the old tiles around the perimeter of that area which was probably original to the house. So I want to replace tiles with an antique style design. Looking for 4 x 4" tiles. I can drive anywhere in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Orange counties. Thanks.

  • Beautiful romantic restaurants near UCLA? Not over the top pricey but not cheap either?

We are going to the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra this Sunday at UCLA...afterwards I want to take my hub to a nice restaurant for dinner...I've looked at Tanino's Ristorante located just a couple of blocks away, and while the decor was phenomenal with an authentic Tuscan style, the reviews of the food were very scattered...so needless to say, I'm a little afraid to go there. ...does anyone have suggestions...or if you've been to Tanino's personally, could you give me your take on this restaurant? Thanks!

  • Directions to Royce Hall, UCLA ...from 10 fwy (La Verne)?

Hi guys...I am driving from the 10 fwy (La Verne) to Royce Hall at UCLA in Westwood...I have looked up Mapquest, Google Maps and Yahoo Maps...all of them give me too many different directions with too many different fwys...So my question is, if I take the 10 West (and just stay on the 10 instead of exiting to the 101, 110, etc) will it eventually take me directly to the 405? I do not want to do all these different fwys with possibility of getting lost in LA. ...what do you suggest? Thanks!

  • Good dinner theaters in Los Angeles/Orange County/Inland Empire?

Our 5 year anniversary is on it's way and I want to take my hub to a dinner theater. We live in Claremont, and we've been to the Candlelight Pavilion quite a few times, which we really enjoy. But since it's our anniversary, I'd like to go to something different. The problem is, he works the graveyard shift on Fridays and Saturdays, so that sorta limits our options...I really wanted to see the Gourmet Detective in O.C., but it's only during the weekends...does anyone know of any other musical or mystery dinners they can recommend?

  • I've noticed a lot of dead bees in our yard...what's happening?

I heard they are endangered and I'm a little worried. Early this spring they were flourishing in our flower buds, fruit trees, etc...but then...towards the end of Summer I started to notice a lot of dead bees in our yard. Also, we visited Disneyland last week and I noticed the same thing...3 dead bees. They did not look like they were stepped on...just dead.

  • My 3 year old has a lot of wax in his ear...what remedies can I use to get it out?

His right ear has had a wax clump building up for the last 2 months. I can't even see his ear drum anymore. It's too far in to get it out myself, so I was wondering if there are any pediatric ear drops I could use to loosen it up.
