No detailed explanation needed- just the basics. 2-3 sentences will suffice.

The assignment is to create a highly detailed character description. I feel as though my paper comes across as more of a story, but I am unsure whether or not it works well enough. I would love it if someone could just take a look at it and let me know any and all thoughts:)

Margareta Benun, just shy of the required retirement age, carries herself through the hallway of the school where she teaches, in a repulsive, nonchalant way. Her hips swivel in sync with her plum stomach that protrudes steeply whilst her arms extend at a 45 degree angle, and bounce lightly with every step. Likewise, her short dark hair slopes out at either side, making her head look particularly mushroom-shaped. Her hair and her questionable wardrobe only accentuate the fact that she is mentally insane.

Margareta Benun, a peculiar woman indeed. She is the kind that is very hard to forget, even though, chances are, you’d want to erase her completely. This woman was born and raised within the same 5km radius. The house she grew up in is only one major street away from the one she currently resides in. This coincidentally happens to be only a five minute walk from the hospital in which she first emerged, which happens to be right across the public school in which Margareta now works as an art teacher.

Only a few decades old, this particular school would not have been around in the prehistoric times in which Margareta had attended grade school. She in fact went to one that was closer to her first home, and that was now since closed. Technically, the school had been forced to close down because of a tragic fire. Luckily, it happened on a Saturday and no one was injured. The fire had started in a most unusual way. It was due to a terrible rat infestation, which had caused them to fumigate, which in turn is what had fueled the massive freak fire. Little did anyone know that the first rat that entered the school was in fact Margareta’s first rat. She named this one Kathy. Kathy was responsible for birthing other all the other rats that lead the infestation. Margareta had kept her at home as a pet earlier in the year, but was forced by her shrew mother to get rid of it. That was when she decided that her locker might be a good place to keep her pet. Later when all the rats were running free in the hell storm that was beset by the fumigators, one had set off a flame. No one knows how this occurred, but investigators say that the chemistry lab is where it started. Needless to say, all the rats burnt to a crisp. Margareta went into a deep mourning. As a result, she kept multiple rats as pets in the years to come. This is where most of her troubles began. No one ever quite understood her obsession with this foul creature, but she insisted on its ‘true beauty’. Some speculate that she found comfort in the rodents, and considered them friends. For years, she was the victim of bulling. “Crazy rat lady!” the kids would chant. Her only brother, Jim, would occasionally comfort her, but more than anything, would join in the humiliation. Her foul mother would only make things worse. Her mother was never pleased with the daughter she had had, and she would let it be known. And to make matters worse, Margareta’s father had died when she was young so she was grudgingly stuck with her mother. The only fatherly figure that Margareta could rely on was her Uncle Jimmy. Uncle Jimmy was far wealthier than the Benun family, and therefore felt it his moral obligation to help out where ever he could. With the exception of her uncle, Margareta never felt close to anyone in her family. She did not have many friends either. Overall, her childhood is something that she would like to suppress.

As a young adult, things got better for her and she no longer relied on Uncle Jimmy or her brother, Jim. She had started post-secondary at a nearby university. This is where she met her future husband, Jim. One thing you need to understand about Margareta is that, like a rat, she is a creature of habit; she always lived in the same areas, kept the same pets, and interacted with highly similar people. This is why many considered her utterly boring and uncultured. It should be known, that when she and Jim had children, they named the boy Jim Jr., and the girl Jamie. At about this time, her mother became very ill. Margareta took no chances and she stuck her shrew mother in a home so that she would no longer be subjected to her perils. In the midst of all this, she began her teaching job. It is a bewildering question to ask, how this delusional and unpleasant woman secured a job at the local school board. The school had obviously hired her by mistake. But due to her obsequious behavior, it is no wonder how she gained so much experience and authority. She quickly became the head of the art department and soon had dozens of other teachers below her that would do her bidding: mere peasants you could say.

So I'm a little late in planning it.. my birthday is in less than 4 days and I STILL don't know what to do,

I was thinking something quirky and really fun, but it also needs to be something that people will WANT to go to xD

So, I came up with something like:

_____Karaoke (problem is, there aren't any good places in my near vicinity)

_____Laser tag (people might think it's weird, but I think it could be really fun for old times sake. Although, then I don't know what to do after it's over because it closes so early..)

_____Bon fire/ Beach party (While this may sound fun, it will only be fun with a lot of people and a lot of alcohol, but this arises the issue of underage drinking (19+) :/ )

I plan to get drunk and high regardless, but it would be fun to have an event, so I'm asking if anyone has any advice or person experience they'd like to share :)

btw, it will be somewhere between 5-20 people

*You don't have to read the following paragraph, but i think it would help to know where i'm coming from.

I just feel like I don't do anything of any value with my life. Currently I am taking co-op as a high school course and I work as a sales associate most evenings.At my co-op placement I don't do anything! I mean nothing of ANY value. And i understand they cannot trust me because i am an intern and all, but after two whole months i still feel like i am being treated like crap. As for my job, i love it! But at the same time it really isn't any sort of accomplishment and most likely wont lead to success.

And in the midst of all this, I still haven't heard back from any universities where as my friends and others around me all have already been accepted into their programs. I even know people who have been accepted into the programs that i applied for, but have only heard bad news from.

I already feel like i'm wasting my life right now, and not to do anything of any value for another year would just continue my downward depression. I really hate not doing anything, but at the same time there is NO WAY i will even consider going back to high school for another year.

the only glimmer of hope comes from the potential supervisor job i might have at my company. it would be the lowest manager position, but its a start. What sucks about it, is that i'd have to transfer stores. the store that i'd have to go to is really far from where i live and more importantly it wont be the same people I've come to love at my job. These people are the reason why work is the only place i seem to be happy lately.

And i don't mean to be another sob story on yahoo, but i guess my question is:

What should i do?

and no offence, i really don't want to hear about how i'm over reacting and that i should calm down.. I know people have it worse, but i feel like complete crap right now and would really appreciate some life guidance.

i dont know what to write about though (topic and format)

the only reason i would do this is because i need to take another course to make up for the one im doing poorly in now.

i dont have a lot of money. i dont feel like vacating the sanctity of my living area. i cant invite too many people over and most of them already have plans. i was thinking bbq and home fireworks, but that involves planning and a group of people. i dont know if it'll work out.

suggestions on how it might? how to pull this off, what to buy, how many people to invite, so on.

i came into my room and saw it. ITS HUGE! by far the biggest one ive ever seen in real life! it is about 7cm in diameter and it has really thick legs. its brown and black and hideous! it wasnt moving when i saw it. i was really scared so i trapped it under my empty garbage bin. i dont know what to do now. i really dont want to be the one to kill it, worse, i dont want to be the one to have to dispose of it! i dont want to get near it!! ive isolated myself in a tiny corner of me room on high ground!
