  • What evil movie partnerships don't make sense?

For instance, I was watching The Dark Knight and I noticed that the Joker teaming up with the Mob at the end doesn't make any sense. The mobsters are in it for the money; the Joker is not. The mobsters run an organized enterprise; the Joker is an agent of chaos. Doesn't seem like a good partnership.

So, have you noticed other evil partnerships among villians that don't make sense, and why don't they make sense to you?

    Thanks!

  • What are some weird uses for facebook?

For instance, facebook is used by police as evidence and employers use it for background checks. What are some other unusual uses that most people DON'T know about (so stalking/creeping doesn't work). Thanks.

  • What history events taught in school that actually never happened?

So I am looking for a prelimenary list of at least 6 historical events that are/were taught in school, but are now being doubted by historians. One example is the Children's Crusade, which historians are now saying wasn't a group of children, but a group of young adults that were peasants, which obviously changes the impact the story has.

Another possible one is the Underground Railroad which did exist, but many of the things associated with it, like the "Follow the Drinking Gourd" song, never existed. Can anyone think of any others and please INCLUDE SOURCES if you have them. Thanks

P.S. To any imbecile that posts "the Holocaust", you're not funny.

  • new scott brown radio ads?

Anyone else think Brown was unwise in his choice of radio ads? I'm referring to the ones with his daughters saying "Martha is attacking our dad. He taught us that was wrong".

Don't get me wrong, Coakley's ads were stupid and politically unwise (yes martha, i heard scott brown was a republican the first time you screamed it. No need to repeat it 7 times in one ad). But I think Brown is making the same mistake. He gained in the polls because people disliked the negative Coakley ads.

Now he's passive-agressively attacking Coakely in the radio ads with his daughters (which is kind of a cheap gimick). Anyone else feel he would have been better off sticking to the issues (he would have been the only candidate to do so).

  • Why are Americans concerned about North Korea?

The U.S. gives a huge amount of food to North Korea, about 80% according to my professor. (I can't find the website that he showed us, but it was a reliable one).

It is well documented that North Korea constantly flirts with famine. So my question is why do Americans fear N. Korea? Even if we completely ignore the fact that they do not have weapons capable of reaching us, the U.S. could just pull its food supply at any time. So N. Korea would lose 80% of its food, causing much of the country to perish within a few weeks.

To me it seems that the U.S. government just wants to nip the nuclear weapon issue in the bud, but that citizens take this to a whole different level. They see the nuclear talks on the news and they think "Oh God! They are going to nuke us".

But they don't have the capable weapons, they aren't going to nuke the country that gives them 80% of their food, and we have ships sitting outside of N. Korea to shoot any missle down that is headed our way. Let's let the politicians handle this one.

  • How long do you think Crabtree will hold out?

Let's face it, the 49ers will not give him more than the $38 million he wants when last years 10th pick got something like $23 million. So either the two have to reach some sort of compromise, Crabtree has to give in, or he will sit out the season.

I'm hedging my bets he doesn't have the stones to sit out a season, so when do you think he signs? And if and when he signs, will it be a compromise between the 2 sides, or will Crabtree have completely caved?

    Cheers.

  • can you please help me out?

I'm trying this program where I blog and then make money if people click on the ads next to my blog. Thus far i have 2 clicks and have a reported earnings of $0.00. Can you help me out and click one of the ads ONCE. Please don't click multiple times, because multiple clicks nullify all the ones from the same computer. So please go to this site:

    http://www.newyorkyankeesnews.com/gurucoons/weblog...

and click on one of the ads. Thanks so much. I just want to see why i'm being credited with no money.

  • why are teams so afraid of the detroit lions?

I mean many NFL players mention the lions when on ESPN. They mention them so much that the only reasonable conclusion would be they are afraid of them and their abilities? Obviously they realize the Lions could easily win the super bowl this year.

  • Who cares if you can't raise a family on the minimum wage?

In the minimum wage debate the one arguement I can't comprehend is why some people say minimum wage should be dramatically increased because you can't raise a family on the minimum wage. First of all, let's figure out how much it would cost to raise a typical family, consisting of 2 parents and 2 children. It's estimated children cost 11,000 a year, so that's 22,000 off the bat. With housing, utilities, and other necessary expenses, i'm going to guess you need an additional 25,000. So that's 47,000. But that's $47,000 you need in income, not just what you need to make. So since people in that tax bracket have a federal tax of 25%, the two parents combined salaries need to come to 62,000.

So in order for two parents, each earning minimum wage, to earn 62,000 a year, working 40 hours a week, for 50 weeks of the year, they would have to earn $15.50 an hour. So for people who argue that the minimum wage should be raised so that people can raise a family on it, do you support raising the min. wage to $15.50, which would be a minimum wage doubling of most state's existing minimum wages.

My other arguement against this philosophy is as followed:

Say MacDonald's hires 2 new cashiers and pays them the minimum wage. One is a 40 year old man and one is a 16 year old kid. Now, you can agree or disagree with my calculations above, but you have to admit raising a family is damn expensive- if you don't agree with my 62,000 calculation, let's radically reduce it to 40,000. Now if the 40 year old cashier makes 40,000 a year, then the 16 year old kid will have to make 40,000 a year as well, assuming they both work 40 hours a week 50 weeks a year. Now do you really want teenage workers making 40,000 a year, or more than a lot of high school teachers with college degrees currently make?

    Thanks for the feedback

Does NBC accept scripts for episodes of the office? I know it's unlikely anything that an average person sends them will end up on tv, but i'm asking if scripts are accepted. Thanks
