Dendrobates, for example, was pretty awesome. Something along the lines of "Petshop of Horrors" would also be acceptable.
2 AnswersComics & Animation6 years agoCultural sensitivity to Middle-Eastern Client and Employees?
I work in home health care. One of my clients is an elderly woman with dementia. She and her family are Middle-Eastern. I also have two Middle-Eastern employees.
I was hoping for tips/advice on how to be respectful and sensitive to their culture. I'm very curious about their customs, but don't want to come off as rude.
For example, one employee does not wish to work at certain times on Friday due to her religion. Is there a way to make conversation out of this and still be respectful? Something similar to asking 'How was church?' to my Christian friends?
Any Holidays that are celebrated that I can acknowledge?
I want to build a good relationship with both my client, her family, and my employees.

1 AnswerPain & Pain Management7 years agoLow maintance garden/thistle removal, Indiana?
We have a large gardening area in our front yard from the previous homeowners. It's currently over run with weeds and thistle, and lemon balm. No one in our family really has the time to dedicate to a garden, so I'm looking for suggestions on what to plant there.
I'd like it to be low cost, low maintenance, and that comes back and covers a lot of area. Something colorful, fragrant or useful would also be nice. We do have animals, so nothing poisonous.
The area is in front of windows, so something short would be appropriate.
While we're on the subject, any ideas on how to remove the thistle without destroying my hands??

4 AnswersGarden & Landscape7 years agoMentally disabled child harassing dog/damaging property?
I get some of you may take offense, but this is becoming an issue.
My neighbor has a mentally disabled [insert politically correct label] child. Fine, whatever. My issue is that she let's the kid run free without supervision. Normally I still wouldn't have an issue, but...he's not exactly keeping his bounds.
He comes to my door, harasses and threatens my very large Boxer (who I fear may end up going through the screen and attacking the 'threat'), goes through my mail box, plays 'key board' on my car, (I suspect he's also responsible for several scrapes on my car via his toys), he constantly screams at my house, plays in the street (that's safe *sarcasm*) and our other neighbor even admitted that at one point he found the kid in his house! At this point I really don't know what to do.
What can I do at this point? Is there someone I can report to? Write a letter? At this point, I worry for my own family's rights (what if this kid decides to open my fence while the dog is back there and gets mauled?) and his safety. I would write a letter to his mother, but I believe from previous talks that she's also some level of mentally 'not all there'.

1 AnswerCelebrities8 years agoLooking for an anime?
I don't remember much of it, and it was rather odd. In it, there was an alien that was a hermaphrodite, with female genitals but a male torso and body structure, with long green hair. On the alien's home planet, he had a lover who wore bells which reminds him of his lover now. The alien sucks the life force out of people, like a vampire. A doctor who is part of the research (maybe???) falls in love with the alien and escapes with him/her, who ends up pregnant.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?

1 AnswerAdd-ons9 years agomy dog just randomly wanted out to eat grass?
It's about 2Am where I'm at and he usually doesn't want out at this hour. I let him out (he's about 2yrs old, Boxer, rescue dog) and he immediately began eating grass. Only one kind of grass, and he doesn't really want anything to do with me. I know dogs eat grass to help them vomit/settle their stomach...but so suddenly? and so vigorously?? Should I be worried??
9 AnswersDogs9 years agoLooking for a wireless USB adapter for computer?
Alright, so with AT&T raising their prices, my family has decided to drop them as our internet provider and go with Xfinity. While some of you may agree/disagree with the choice, that's not the question here.
Both of my desktops are currently not wireless, and therefore I need to buy 2 wireless adapters to make them as such. The main box will be downstairs, ~200-300 ft from the computers. The two computers will be in the same area, side my side. Both are windows 7 64-bit
Which adapter should I purchase? I need it to be compatible with my computers and with the Xfinity box - I'm just getting basic cable, nothing fancy.
2 AnswersAdd-ons9 years agoprobability questions that I'm just not getting?
alright, I'm studying for a test and using some in book questions to make sure I'm getting it. A few I don't even know where to start on. Can someone give me a walk through on how to do them?
1. Of incoming students, 64% are taking English, 55% are taking math and 15% are taking neither. Give a student is taking English, what is the probability he's taking math? Hint: use a Venn diagram, and they are dependent.
2. A jar contains 2 white and 3 black buttons. Two marbles are selected without replacement. Hint, use tree diagram.
a) what is probability that 2nd marble is white
b) probability 2nd marble white, given first marble black
3. Given Pr(a)= .48, Pr(b) = .27 find (A U B)[ reads A union B] if:
a) A and B are disjointed
now, I think I have this one. Pr(a) + )Pr(b) = (AUB) so its .48+.27=.75
b)A and B are independent
Please help!!
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoLooking to buy a good gaming computer, but I'm not a hardcore gamer?
So, I don't need something that has it's own cooling system and is already overclocked. I'm a casual PC gamer, and the games I play range from really old (Blood Rayne I) to some of the newer stuff (Bioshock 2, Dragon Age...) but nothing online or anything that requires me to have a $2,000 graphics card and $3,000 processor (in my opinion).
I'm looking for something that allows me to casual game, has good graphics and is relatively fast, but can still do all the other tasks that I need (school work) which pretty much should be part of the deal anyways.
My budget is $1,000-$1,500 I can afford something a bit higher then that, but would prefer not to.
Any suggestions? Sites are a plus!
4 AnswersDesktops1 decade agostrong material that dog will have hard time chewing through?
So I need to re-wrap a squeaky toy my dog has gnawed the fabric off from. I'd like something that is very tough without it causing harm to him (non-abrasive materials) the fabric must be able to contort into a ball shape-so nothing too stiff.
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoIs deceiving a customer into signing up for a program that isn't free legal?
My boss at work told me to do this, I refused as I believe it is immoral or even illegal. I was wondering if it was actually illegal.
we are to tell the customer that they 'qualify' for 11 free somethings(I wish to remain as anon as possible, sorry). they get 1 free something today, and the other 10 will be sent to them. we are then to ask for their credit/debit card and driver's lic. and sign them up for a 2week trial of the free something. the information we have to input into the program is as follows: credit card #, name, address, phone, email, a password, security question and then we have to hit 'i accept and understand these terms' for them, all WITHOUT the customer knowing. a confirmation sheet is then printed, which we give them and with the password WE chose written down on it.
after we sign them up for this something, we are then to tell them that it is only a free trial, and if they dont cancel at the end of 2 wks they'll get charged.
i'm uncomfortable b/c not only do the customers not really know what's happening until the end, but i'm handling very personal information. i find the process to be very deceiving and manipulative and was wondering if it has an legal merit.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agowhat should of acne treatment product is best for me?
I have mild acne in the T-zone (forehead mostly), a lot of white heads on my cheeks, blackheads on my nose and chin and pretty wide pores. My face is very oily and my hair has to be washed every other day to prevent oily-ness. I'm looking for something to treat all my issues.
I've tried proactive, neutrogena, clean & clear, and a rubbing alcohol and peroxide mix. all products reacted the same to my skin-a major improvement on acne for the first week, only for it to come back and no change on pore size or white heads.
At this point I'm open to suggestions, but have some guidelines:
1.NO PILLS!! if it's not FDA approved, there's a reason!
2. NO home treatments-you're not a dermatologist and I doubt you know what you're doing in all honesty.
3.The price of the product shouldn't exceed $60/month
4.If you're answer is 'go see a doctor' don't bother answering
3 AnswersSkin Conditions1 decade agoCan I wear my 1-Day Acuvue Moist more then one day?
For $60 for a month's supply, I'd like to make them stretch as long as I can. Therefore, can I wear them more then one day if I soak them? My Dr. said that it isn't the best idea, but I couldn't get an answer out as to -why- it isn't a good idea...
4 AnswersOptical1 decade agoI'm looking for a candy-looked like Sprees but chewy?
Spree of course in a wonka candy. I remember getting them in first grade (a long time ago since I'm now a sophomore in college). they look like sprees (brightly colored and a round 'disc shape) but were slightly chewy. They also came in a roll, like smarties do.
They not sprees, sweet-tarts, smarties or warheads. They have a resemblance to chewy sweet tarts as far as texture goes but the shape is wrong (they're ball shaped)
any ideas on what candy I have a nostalgic craving for?
