I am me....what more can I say?

  • Now, what do you think?

A new scholarship has been formed in Texas that applies to white males. A CNN interview implied that this was an agenda for white supremacy when the board member she interviewed said point blank that simply because people are white, it doesn't mean they have money laying around to go spend on college.

I have seen scholarships that I'm can't even try to apply for because of my color. I find it pointless to say that white people have been granted education for so long which is why it's okay to deny them scholarship money. It kind of seems like we're in a society that promotes equality between races but what we really do is take revenge on a race of people because of their ancestors.

    Eh. What do you think?

  • Why is the title of Darwin's book edited?

Most textbooks and people acknowledge Darwin's book to be named "The Origins of Species" or "The Origins of Species by Means of Natural Selection." Why did they conveniently edit out the real title: "The Origins of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life?"

I found it a little weird how that part sounds closer to human than it does to animals or nonhuman primates.

Aside from that, do you like it? If not, which one would you rather have as a birthstone?

  • Is this normal for a cat?

I took my cat to the vet to get spayed a few days ago and because of my busy schedule, I had them put in dissolveable stitches so I don't have to take her back just to have them taken out. When I come home at the end of the day, I check the incision site to make sure nothing happened and I noticed that she has a couple of lumps right underneath the incision.

Is it normal for her to have that? I was guessing it was the stitches. The vet told me that the stitches are on the inside so I won't see them. However, its been almost 5 days and the lump hasn't gone down at all...

  • Wouldn't you find it ironic how...?

Parents keep yelling at their kids to clean up their own messes and all that jazz. But when they go into a fast food place with their kids, the parents leave behind bigger messes than their 5 year old kids do. And then here comes the high school emplyee, cleaning up after people 3 times their own age.

I find it hysterically ironic, wouldn't you?

  • How do I get an e-mail address for....?

A publishing company. For my school newspaper, I need to contact Delacorte Press Publishing to ask them if I can use a picture of one of their book covers for the paper.

Is there a website that I could go to? I tried googling it and it didn't come up with anything...

  • Assuming a belief of Freud's was true...?

I read a psychology book that states that Freud believed that human behaviors and their actions never occur "accidently" or "by chance." That there is always an explanation and reason for the action. Assuming that is true, wouldn't that intercept with the whole idea of epiphanies? If I was told right, (which I hope I was) an epiphany is sudden realization for no apparent reason. Wouldn't Freud's belief contradict that? Or am I looking into it too strangely?

  • What do you think of....?

Demi Levato's (Is that how you spell the last name?) smile from that Camp Rock movie? I don't have a problem with the movie. It's just when she first smiled really big, it was kind of...scary to me...

  • Does anyone want to express their feelings towards...?

Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers? I see a lot of hate comments. Don't get me wrong. I don't like them either. I just want to know your reason.

My own reason for not liking Miley Cyrus is because she's just like Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. Disney will only want her until she's grown up.

  • Why is it that some people do this?

I saw some websites where people post idealistic fictional stories. I started reading a few of them and noticed that at the end of each story/chapter, the author puts "I will update tomorrow." What is it that they are updating, exactly? Their little webpages, or their writing?

It's just something to ponder because if updating generally means "improving," then why are they using the term when they really mean that they are going to write more? Why don't they just say "I'll write more later?"

  • Have you noticed the lack of manners and courtesy in teenagers?

In most high schools, do you ever hear of a majority of the student population opening doors for each other and helping out each other in the hallways? How often does someone see that kind of courtesy in high schools?

The main question I am trying to get to is: is it a good or bad thing that our youth doesn't have the common courtesy they had several generations ago?

  • Do I have to learn Old English in order to learn Gaelic?

I was told that if I want to study Gaelic, I need to learn Old English first. I was also told that Old English is very hard to learn. Is it all true? If so, what colleges (anywhere in the US) have classes like that available?

  • Do you like to name your favorite possessions?

I only name my instruments. I named the trombone I use for marching season Monty because it is really really old. Then I named my baritone Lucy (from I Love Lucy) because it likes to be stubborn. Lastly, I named my F attachment trombone Ethel, well, just because Ethel and Lucy can go together. Just like in the TV show.

  • Do you agree?

With my idea that people should "shoot for the moon before you aim for the stars?" The way I see it, a lot of people are always setting high goals for themselves. I believe it is okay to set high goals but what I am talking about is goals that are so high, that people almost can't reach it. So they end up decieving themselves. What do you think?
