I am a stay at home mom to three beautiful kids. A 5 year old girl, a 2 year old boy, and an 8 month old girl. They keep me very busy. I am happily married to the guy that I had the biggest crush on in high school. Who knew 6 years after high school we would reunite and fall in love? I just hope that some of my life experiences can help others out!
Could this be social anxiety?
My daughter over the last couple weeks has gotten worse and worse when she is in a large group. To the point that she about has a nervous break down. She is only 3 years old and she used to be just fine in groups. Its not any new groups either. We also haven't had anything different in our lives lately. What can I as a mother do to help her cope or would it be best to seek the help of a doctor?
2 AnswersToddler & Preschooler9 years agoHow can I get him to change his mind?
Okay so we are pregnant with baby number 4. We found out that it's a boy and I want to name him Nathan James. My husband wants to name him Nathan Christopher. His first name is Christopher. It wouldn't be a huge issue except that our 3 year old son is Nicholas Christopher.. I want my children to have their own name and not share it with a sibling. I've tried telling him this and he just doesn't see it that way. How can I get my point across that I refuse to give him the same middle name as our other son without being mean about it? I'm pretty sure that if I told him enough times he would go with it, but I don't want to nag him about it. I'm not that kind of wife.
3 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoGood middle name to go with Nathan?
We found out we are having another boy!! We have decided ont he frist name Nathan but can't seem to decide on a middle name! I need some good idea's. I really like old fashioned names, nothing to creative and out there. Thanks in advance!
15 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoHave any other moms dealt with this?
My 3 year old son has been diagnosed with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). He has an appt with a child phsycologist next week that can help us help him deal with it and make sure that it doesn't get worse. I want to know if any other mom's or dad's out there have dealt with it and what works for you to help them? Thanks so much in advance.
2 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoWhat is a cute baby boy name that starts with the letter N?
Both of our daughters names start with an A (not on purpose just happened that way). We are expecting and want our new sons name to start with an N to match his brother who's name is Nicholas. I can't really think of a lot of names that start with an N so if you know of any cool ones I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
24 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoWhy are they so concerned?
I just found out that I am pregnant with my 4th child. My siblings don't think that I should have any more children. I haven't even told any of them yet. I think is not their decision nor is it any of their business. I just don't want to hear the lectures from them. My other three children are well taken care of and very loved. They are pretty well behaved and great kids. They are my entire world. I am a stay at home mom and married to a great guy. I just don't understand why they are so concerned about how many children I have. Oh and by the way this is my last one. I have always wanted to have 4 children.
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWhy is this happening?
My daughter who is now 5 has become very angry all of the sudden. She used to be very sweet and calm and listened very well. Now she doesn't listen most of them time and thrown horrible temper tantrums. When she throws these tantrums I make her go sit on her bed facing the wall or she has to stand in the corner. I don't want to spank her because I don't really like to unless absolutely necessary but I am so frustrated I feel like if I were to spank her it would be hard and hurt her more than necessary and I don't want to do that. I am at a complete loss right now and don't know what to do anymore. Please refrain from stupid or mean comments. I am a real mom who is very frustrated and wanting my sweet girl back and trying to get help from other real moms. Thank you in advance.
9 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoWhat funny things have your children said lately?
My two year old son makes me laugh at least once a day. They just say the cutest things. Like yesterday, my kids and I were downstairs and I remembered my mother in law asking my son(who is 2) to get a pot for her so she could cook them dinner. She was there to baby sit while my husband and I went on a date. Well I asked him "didn't grandma ask you to get a pot for her?" He says all flustered "Oh I forgot I better go do it so grandma doesn't get so very mad with me!" then he gets to the bottom of the stairs and yells to the top "grandma don't worry I not forget about your pot I am coming!" It was so hilarious! So parents now it is your turn to brag about your kids! What funny things have they said?
7 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoHow would you deal with this?
My whole life my mother has told me that the reason she divorced my father was because he abused her and he abused us kids. I was only three when they got divorced so I don't remember at all. So I have spent my life being angry with my father for what he did. I have been working the last couple years to try and forgive him but I just couldn't. I shut him out of my life growing up. I never asked him to anything that I was in, such as piano recitals, choir performances, dance recitals. Well I was talking to my older sisters and older brother who were in their teens when my parents got divorced how they could so easily forgive our father after he did those things to them. They all had the same story, they couldn't remember ever getting beat by him and none of them saw him beat our mother. She has lied to me my whole life to keep me away from my dad and make it so I chose her side. I am so pissed off at her. I don't know if I will be able to forgive her. I don't understand why she would have to lie to me and keep me away from my dad. My question is, what would do in my situation about my mom? I already know that I get to make up for lost time with my dad and I have already started doing that. I just don't know what to do about my mom.
15 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoWhat funny things have your kids said lately?
I love hearing the funny things that kids out there say and do. I also love to share what my kids have done. It gives us all a moment to brag about our little ones. So my answer is, I took my daughter (who is 5) in to register her for kindergarten. On the way into the school she asked me if the school had any boy teachers. I told her "yeah they probably do why?" She looked at me with this really worried look on her face and said "Mommy can you make sure that I don't get a boy teacher?" I asked her "why?" She tells me, "well I heard that boys have this disease called cooties and I don't want to catch it!" Of course I explained to her that if boys had that she would have already caught it from her brother or her daddy. She tells me all serious that you can't catch it from boys in your family, duh mom. I don't think I have ever laughed at something that she said as much as I did that day. So everyone it's now your time to share if you want. What funny thing has your little one said or done lately?
10 AnswersParenting1 decade agoShould I be worried ?
My son has been taking very long naps lately. Like 3-4 hour naps when he usually takes only about 1-1 1/2 hour naps. Most the time I have to wake him up. Should I be worried? He isn't sick. No coughing, no fever, nothing. He just turned 2 and has been grumpier than usual the last couple of days.
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWhat questions to ask kindergarten teacher?
My daughter is starting kindergarten this next school year and she is my oldest so this is my first time doing this. I want to know what kind of questions to ask her teacher so that I know that they are a good teacher. My parents never really cared that much about my education and I was a drop out. I did go on to get my GED but it's always something that I wish I could go back and change, so I want to be very involved in my children's education and make sure that they get the best possible education that they can. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
6 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoHow can I feel better as a woman?
I couldn't breast feed with any of my kids. With my first, I had absolutely no milk come in at all. I tried everything. I pumped every half hour and I got nothing!! Then with my second he would not latch on at all. I kept at it and kept offering him the breast every time he would eat for about 3 months and he just wouldn't take it. I had enough milk. so I pumped and gave him that. Then with my last who is almost 3 months they found lumps in my breast (breast cancer runs very high in my family) so I had to have biopsies done and they were just too tender to even breast feed. I feel like my body has failed me. I feel like I am less of a woman and my husband tries to make me feel better but it just doesn't work. I feel like I am less of a woman. My question is, has this happened to anyone else and how can I feel better about myself as a woman?
4 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoHow did you make your baby laugh?
My baby girl is almost 3 months old so we are doing everything that we can to make her laugh for the first time. I know that she will in her own time, but I love to see her smile so I am doing the things that make her smile to see if it will get her to laugh. My oldest who is 5, the first time that she laughed(this is kind of embarassing) was when I bent down to give her a kiss and I farted. Then with my son who will be 2 tomorrow (wow how time flies) the first time that he laughed was when my husband made some funny voice. Now everytime that he makes that voice he still laughs at it. So my question is... what did you do that made your kids laugh for the first time?
9 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoKnow a good moisturizer?
I have really sensitive skin and all the face cleaners that I've used really dry out my skin. I have tried all of them out there. I've even gone to a dermatologist and the medication that they gave me made it worse. I need a really good moisturizer. Anyone know of a good one that worked for them?

Ok so I read on here at least once a day kids that ask what are the chance that I/she is pregnant?? When they haven't even had sex!!! Do they seriously not teach sex ed anymore? If these kids don't know about the birds and the bees they shouldn't be having sex right?
9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhat to get mother-in-law?
So you know how most people don't really get along with their mother in laws? Well I absolutely love mine!! She is an amazing person and raised a wonderful son who is sweet, caring, a great father, and a gentleman. I had my baby girl November 24th and had some complications afterward that kept me in the hospital for a few more days. She took care of my other two kids the whole time that I was in the hospital while my husband wasn't at home. She brought them for visits too, which made my day. When I came home she still continued to be such a huge help. She would come get the kids and take them with her to run errands or just to hang out with grandma. She went above and beyond to help me out and I appreciate it so much. I want to get her something really special to show her how much I appreciate what she has done for me and my kids. I have about a $100 to work with. Any ideas would be helpful. I asked in this section because it is the one that I am in the most and I trust your answers. Thanks so much on any ideas!!
5 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoGood exercise routine?
Ok so I just had my third and final child and I would like to get back to where I was weight wise before I had my first. I've been eating a lot healthier. The problem is the exercise. I've got three kids so i can't really go to a gym. I'm a stay at home mom and my husband works 12 hour shifts 5 days a week. So I can't really have him watch them because he gets home too late. I want a really simple routine that I can do while they are napping. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have about an hour to work with because I also want time to shower!! I asked it in this section because I trust the moms answers and you guys know what it's like to have the body changes during and after pregnancy. Thanks in advance!!
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agowhy is my dog all of the sudden barking at everything?
And how can I get him to stop? If you are going to suggest a shock collar don't even bother answering to get your two points because I believe that thing is animal cruelty and I will report you.
7 AnswersDogs1 decade agoSome ideas please!!!?
I am getting ready to potty train my son and I heard that they are a bit harder to potty train than girls. I was really lucky with my first and she caught on really quick and was completely potty trained in less than 2 weeks. I don't think the same thing will work with him. He's really afraid to sit on the toilet even on the little seat that you can put on them. I need some ideas on how to make it more fun so he's not so scared.
