  • Ads on Facebook, Yahoo, etc.=virus?

I've been getting ads on sites like Facebook, Yahoo!, etc, that are normally seen on "less secure" sites. They're they ads that tell you to click, or are a game, or try to look like a facebook notification. Under the ad, it always says "ads not by this site"

I've never noticed these type of ads before, and was wondering this could be some type of ad-ware, spy-ware or a virus.

*As I'm typing this, I have two ads, one above and one below the area where I'm typing. It have three Giraffes and tells you to click the tallest one.

    thanks.

  • Laptop off Craiglist?

I know this could end up really bad, but was wondering what you guys think of it.

I know that any laptop you can get could be infected with all sorts of stuff, or something else could be wrong, but there are some decent deals out there.

I mainly want a laptop so I can watch movies/shows and have my own computer for my music and what not. I've bought other stuff off of Craigslist, but nothing computer related.

Am I better off just forking $350+ for a new one?

    Thanks.

  • Was this a good deal?

Today I bought an Odyssey White hot #1 34 inch putter at a used sporting goods store for 35 bucks. I've been looking for a new putter since my Taylor-made Nubbins has a weird angle that doesn't allow me to get over the ball when putting.

I tried looking online for the model, but I can only fine Odyssey White hot #1 XG putters, and can't find the normal non XG ones that I bought. Just wondering if anyone has seen these for sale, or if you think it was a decent deal. I have 30 days to return it for a full refund.

  • How do you know when your clubs have had enough?

I've been using my Dad's old Wilson Staff Blade Irons since I first started golfing around 3 years ago. He said he got them in the mid 90's. I can still hit them fine, so I know they aren't done. I was just wondering how long irons usually last. I know it must depend on how much you play, but was wondering if you will start to lose distance, or the sounds will change? What starts to happen when your irons are getting too old to use? Thanks.

  • Practice Swing vs. Real Swing?

I've been taking a camera to the range lately, and I've been noticing this about my swing. When I take a practice swing, I seem more "on plane" and I seem to be in better positions throughout the swing. Then once I go to actually hit the ball, I will move my wrists early and end up being "laid off." Also, my swing can sometimes get a little flat.

I feel like the problem is mostly mental. Has anyone had this happen to them, or knows a drill I can do to help fix it? Anything would help, thanks.

  • How often do you hit SW?

I only have two wedges in my bag: PW and SW. I hit my PW about 125-130 so it gets hard to hit it about 70-100. If I have a shot around that range, I'll usually just hit a hard SW. Is this normal? Or do most people have a wedge that goes in between?

  • Driver Question (Teeing?)?

About 3 weeks ago my friend gave me an 8.5 degree Ping G2 driver since my old 10.5's (Cleveland) shaft broke and I don't have the money to get it fixed. I've been hitting the 8.5 straighter than my old 10.5 degree, but the ball flight is usually pretty low. I probably average about 270-290 on drives, with the occasional 300. I generally tee it up so about half the ball is above the head, but it still has a lowish flight. If I tee it up any higher, I sky rocket the ball. My flight isn't so low that it's a laser, its still higher than that, but it isn't anywhere close to what my 10.5 use to give me.

Is the flight supposed to be lower, or is it a combination of my swing/teeing height? I can possibly post a video later it I get a chance to hit tomorrow.

    thanks.

  • Falling alseep on back?

I have never been able to. Sometimes I'll wake up on my back, but more times than not I'm forced to sleep on my stomach. I've been having Neck pain and I think this will help. Has anyone had anything work for them?

  • Would it be OK to do this?

Almost everyday (in the afternoon) I go to a local course and practice my chipping/putting. I don't like to spend money on the range since I like to save it for the rounds. Lately, there have been a lot of people who hit at the range, and then spend the last 20 or so balls on the chipping green. They don't pick them up, they just finish off the bucket and leave the course. Is it wrong that I collect these and hit them at the range?

I haven't done this yet, but I've been thinking about it. The range usually closes at 5. Yesterday a guy left a whole bucket of balls at the chipping green and just left. I wanted to hit them, but they were about to close the range. I was going to just put them in my bag and then come back the next day, but I didn't know if that was "right."

Was I right in leaving the balls, or from now on can I pick them up and save them for the next day?

  • Iron practice suggestions?

Is the only way to really practice iron shots on the range? I hate spending 10 bucks on balls when I have my own bucket, but the field I like to hit at is public, so I can only practice there when it's empty (which is almost never). Any other way to practice iron shots?

  • Army Rangers Requirements (Eyes)?

If I end up enlisting, I would like to become a Ranger. The only thing I know of right now that would hold me back are my eyes. I have less than desirable vision, but corrected it is 20/20. I tried to go through the reserves for LAPD and got DQ'd for having a mild red/green color deficiency. I know that I won't pass the Ishira (the dot test with the numbers) but I did some reading and heard about the FALANT test. After looking at that, I think I would pass it. I saw some example slides and I can tell the difference between red/white/green.

Just wondering if they still use the FALANT test or have they moved on to a new one.

Anyone have experience with this, or has anything to share? It would be great, thanks.

Thought I should also add that I'm 20 years old right now.

  • I'm looking for this hat?

I saw it all year on the Charger's sideline. It's very similar to this hat, but it has the Chargers bolt on it:

It's all navy, and is fitted. If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know!

  • Is it OK for me to drink my whey protein drink twice a day?

I used to only drink it after my workout, but I'm trying a new diet plan that has me eating more to see if I can gain some weight. I was thinking of starting to drink my whey protein twice daily.

My diet would look like this:

Breakfast: 3 Eggs, Oatmeal or Kashi Cereal.

Snack: Berry Smoothie (with cottage cheese)

    ***Gym time***

Lunch: Some sort of lean meat, with rice and veggies or a salad.

    ***Gym time***

    Snack: Protein shake, trail mix

Dinner: Lean meat, veggies. Maybe potato or rice.

    Snack: Protein shake

***I usually go to the gym before or right after lunch depending on the day.

Is it alright If I use my whey protein drink as my protein shakes? Are they at good times of the day, or should I stop drink it twice daily?

Any other input on the diet would also be appreciated!.

    Thanks.

  • Protein Shakes Question?

I see it all the time when I'm looking at different diets for weightlifting. One in particular I saw has you eating 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. Most of the snacks consist of a protein shake. This diet has you eat Breakfast- Snack- Lunch- Snack- Dinner- Snack. They list the last snack as a protein shake.

Just wondering how you guys make your protein shakes? For my mid day snack, I usually make a fruit smoothie and add cottage cheese to it (you don't taste it), but I feel like doing that before bed would be too much. So I was wondering what other types of protein shakes they could be talking about. I have some whey protein which I only take after the gym. Would it hurt to drink that more than once a day?

PS. I am trying to gain weight, but doing it the lean way. I don't really want to add too much bulk.

  • Crazy glue removal on Ipod case?

I was an idiot and thought it would be a good idea to try and reinforce the case with some crazy glue for the screen cover because dust kept getting in. Of course I got some on the screen protector so now I can see it over the screen. The screen cover is a plastic material so you can still use the Ipod touch while it's covering it. I read that a razor blade works, but I was wondering if there's anything else.

    Thanks.

  • Weightlifting Diet Question?

    Guess I'll start with this:

I'm 5'9" and I weigh about 160 now, but I'd like to get to around 175. I've always been lean, but I'd like to gain some weight while still having that lean look. My biggest question is about my diet, and if it will help me gain lean mass, or will it just make me lose more weight?

Recently I started a new diet, here's an outline of pretty much everyday.

*I usually go to the gym either before or after lunch*

Breakfast: 2 eggs, either toast, oatmeal, or Koshi go lean cereal.

Snack: Smoothie, or yogurt with nuts.

Lunch: Some type of meat (usually chicken) with rice, or baked potato. Sometimes a salad.

Snack: Protein Shake (whey protein) and nuts/some type of veggies

Dinner: Some type of meat with a salad and/or veggies.

I probably drink about 94 oz. of water a day (three of my water bottle) and really don't drink anything else except for the smoothie or the protein shake. I try to keep each meal around the same time during the day. I also try to eat dinner before 7 or 8 and won't eat until breakfast.

    My main questions are:

1.) Will I end up losing weight with this amount of food, or will I still be able to gain lean muscle?

2.) Should I add another whey protein shake before I go to the gym (maybe during the first snack)?

3.) I try to keep my dinner low on carbs. Is this good, or does it not make that big of a difference.

If you know any other ways I could gain some weight and lean muscle please let me know!

    Thanks.

  • Which iPod should I get?

My old 30 GB video just broke so it's time for an upgrade and I've narrowed it down to two choices.

    1.) iPod Classic 120/160 GB. (about $250)

    2.)iPod touch 64 GB. (about $350)

I filled my old 30 GB up to where I had to start choosing which songs I didn't really want. Has anyone had both these iPod, or just one and wants to share? It'd be cool to have all the features of the touch, but I haven't really had a chance to use one.

Also, if anyone knows of any good deals on either of these, please let me know! Thanks.

  • Need help finding a scene?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a movie that has a scene similar to this:

An assassin or whoever kicking down a door and then shooting the people inside. Maybe putting the silencer on before.

My friend and I were thinking of a movie that has this, but we couldn't.

  • How much can I get for these ipods?

I have two ipods that no longer work, but am looking to sell them to someone who advertises to buy broken ipods.

One is a 30 GB Ipod Video. It doesn't turn on, and I'm pretty sure something is dead besides the battery, since before it died, it had the frowning ipod on the scree.

The second is a 4GB ipod Nano. The only thing that doesn't work on it is the wheel. It still turns on, and holds music.

Just wondering if anyone knows how much I could possibly get for these, or would it just be better to get it repaired?
