MOT, can I ask them not to do the emissions test?
OK, so my Diesel Mondeo is going for its MOT tomorrow, I've booked it in 5 months early as I know there are a few problems with it. I wanted to see what sort of money needs to be spent on it before doing the cambelt, as I don't wanna spend £200 on the cambelt only to find it fails on £600 worth of other stuff as I won't be having it done so that £200 went down the toilet.
The car is going to fail anyway, so can I ask the tester not to undertake the emissions test? I know on the FAQ on the VOSA website, it says the tester is supposed to ask you when the cambelt was last changed but I've never been asked.
