1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance10 years agoIs it really a good thing to allow strangers to pet your dog on a frequent basis?
Assuming that you want a dog to be protective, I have begun to question the logic behind having an "over-socialized" dog. Wouldn't it be more useful to have a dog that is neutral to people. I am not saying people shouldn't socialize their dogs, they should.
Note: this is a matter of pure preference, but please substantiate your opinion.

16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs the Vineyard Movement a good thing for Christianity?
I always choose a best answer, and it's not always the one I agree with. I feel that it is good for churches to gage where they stand with everyday people, so please be honest in your responses and elaborate.

I believe the middle east hates these two groups for very different reasons, but I am curious about what other people think.

4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIf Ron Paul was elected President, what would it do to the US economy?
Ron Paul has promised to get rid of the US central bank. What would this do to the dollar internationally, and how would it impact the US economy?
3 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoA case for Ron Paul?
I see all this hype for Ron Paul. Who the hell is that? I typically vote for the canidate that I feel has the most economic know how. Could someone make a case for Ron Paul? Basically I want to see his Resume to see if he can sit in the same room with Bloomberg, Giuliani, Dodd, Gingrich)
12 AnswersElections1 decade agoAre people over estimating Clinton's electability in the middle states?
I think people are over-estimating Clinton's potential in the 'Middle States' which are often accreditied with determining the election. Many people in the Mid-West perceive Clinton as a power-hungry, digrentled female dog. Wouldn't the Democratic party be better off with someone who has a better reputation in the middle states? (ie Bloomberg, Gravel, Dodd)

10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWas 1997 New American Century Project was the true fore-teller to the War in Iraq?
I see all this conspiracy theory stuff about how Bush was really interested in promoting our oil interests? This makes me laugh. I also think trying to "revolutionize" Iraq was a mistake, but to say it was all about oil is stupid.
I would point more to the Neo-con bend prior to the war. Neo-cons believe that the use of military dominance and foreign policy is the best way for the US to positively impact the world. They believe that if we could repeat Japan and South Korea over and over again the world would be better off. I would guess that might be a better explanation for the war in Iraq. Imagine a legitimate economy in the middle east with lots of oil?
This is not a conspiracy theory. This is fact. Just take a look at the New American Century Project charter and see who signed it in 1997. Many of Bush's appointees appear on the signature list.

4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat does breeding for conformation really accomplish?
In my time spent working with German Shepherds, I've noticed that the most unhealthy dogs are those bred specically for conformation. If the so called, "slant-backs" of American show lines and "banana backs" of German show lines have been produced in pursuit of greater conformation, how can any rational person still defend this as a suitible goal for breeding?
What is the value in a breed standard if it produces dogs that can't work due to a lack of drives and physical health? Why value form over function, and isn't that backwards?
I'm sure that many disagree with me, so please state your case and discuss...
...and don't give me some lame argument about how producing the correct angles and so forth will produce dogs suitible for a given task. That may sound good in theory, but it has proven to be pure B.S. in practice.
