  • What the heck is the deal with toilet paper?

Every store on the planet is out of TP...!?!?  I was supposed to go out with friends and vandalize my old high school -- but I can't!!!

How does the freaking supply chain work?  Or... is everybody waiting outside the store and just buying the restocked paper as soon as they open?

But... mostly... okay... so ... I get that people are worried about being stuck in their houses, so maybe buy some extra ... but most of them don't have groceries that are going to outlast a typical amount of TP... so they're going to have to go (or send someone else) shopping to restock ... so why the crazy rush on TP?!?!

I've always just purchased one of Costco's giant packs and then restock when it gets down to about 50% and that last multiple grocery trips ... even still with lock-down, maybe a couple trips -- before perishables will have gone bad if not eaten.

So, maybe the real question ... is there a large percentage of the population that was not buying toilet paper prior to the Corona virus?!  What the heck were these people doing with their poop!!!??!?!!?!??

  • Muslims, is the Sudanese condemnation of Mariam Ibrahim in line with the teaching of Islam?

My previous question about this topic was reported and deleted! I'm very sorry if I came across as offensive. It's just that I don't often hear Muslim's condemn the execution of people like Mariam and I am really hopeful that it is just a misunderstanding on my part. If you are Muslim, can you please respond to this case and help me understand the teachings of Islam in this matter.

Here is the completely relevant (and in line with Y! terms) article for Mariam Ibrahim's case:

If you find my question offensive, please accept my apology in advance and help me to understand what I have said that is offensive.

  • Does the word Islam really translate to "voluntary submission to God"?

First let me explain that I know little about Islam.

I am not trying to be inflamatory or insulting.

    So please forgive my ignorance.

I was reading on wikipedia that Islam means "voluntary submission to God".

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam

If so, why would "radical" Muslims force people to convert or be killed?

That doesn't sound very voluntary to me.

Would peace-loving Muslims prefer that radical Muslims choose a better name for their religion that means something closer to "forced submission to God"?

  • Can I use interior paint on a tree house?

I'm sure the short answer is "no" ... but... this really doesn't need to be a high-quality paint job. I told the dude at the store what I was doing and after I had painted a small section of the tree house I realized it was interior paint. Is the paint going to make my wood chip, crack and explode or will it work fine but only for a couple years rather than long enough to serve my kids' kids? If I do take it back to the store and get the right stuff, can I paint over the section I've already done with exterior paint or is that a no-no?
