What star or stars am I seeing?
I've been noticing a star or stars low in the sky just after dark. It is fairly bright and appears to be a double star. It is located in the East Southeast. My location is in midwest Ohio. I am in town so it appears just over the roof tops in the early evening. The star on the north side is brighter than the one on the south, but they appear to the naked eye to be close in proximity. I don't know why I have never noticed this object as I have been stargazing for years.
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoWhy did anyone need the so-called scientific data to realize the global warming hoax?
Our society has ultimately elevated "science" to God like status, as if it was incorruptible, and not subject to perfectly human inclinations. Common sense is all that is required to reveal the truth about climate change. Do you think common-sense is an endangered specie?
6 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoDoes The PDO correlate well with up and down temps?
Looks like a cycle to me.
At a glance
Fluctuations in PDO and global climate (20th century)
1900-20: Cold
1920-45: Warm
1945-77: Cold
1977-98: Warm
1998-Present: Cold
8 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoDo most computer games work with Windows Vista?
I've been wanting to buy this laptop, but it comes with Windows Vista Home Premium Edition built in. Would I still be able to install most computer games on my laptop?
4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoIn the last decade has the earth warmed or cooled?
From the posts on this site, there seems to be a lot of confusion. If it has cooled, is this damaging to the AGW theory?
13 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoIs it racist that Obama recieved such a large percentage of the African American vote?
Is it not obvious that African Americans voted for him mostly because of Obama's race?
And why is it he's always referred to as an African American, when he is equally white?

2 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoWhat has prevented runaway greenhouse effect in the past.?
It is generally accepted that warmer climates produce greater CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere.
If CO2 is the climate driver many people claim it is, why hasn't the climate experienced this runaway effect?
What mechanism has cooled the planet back down?
The earth warms and cools quite consistantly.
Will it cool again or do you think we've broken the time honored system?
11 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoHow far in the future will it be before humans can engineer our climate?
If you the believe the claims by many scientists concerning their understanding of earth''s climate changes, it might lead one to assume we are very close.

Here is the question: Additional Information: Question: Would you consider an electrical
engineer a climate science expert?
Deleted Answer: I seriously don't think the two words climate and
expert should be used together since when it comes right down to it, God
is really the only climate expert.
I appealed this decision, but was denied. Why?
13 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoFor AGW proponents... Is there any evidence that causes you to have doubt about the AGW theory?
Examples:
The temperature data shows a relatively flat line.
Historical records indicating other warming and cooling periods
Does it matter to you that some "respected" scientists are saying there have been more intense warming spells in the recent past?
Failing computer models?
Do any of these things give you the slightest inkling of doubt about AGW?
Do you believe consensus is important in science. Is this the main reason for your acceptance of the theory?
8 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoTo the best of our knowledge, what is the average temperature of the earth in it's discernable lifetime?
Further, what is the most appropriate temperature for all lifeforms as a whole?
6 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoDo environmentalist love AGW?
When I think of the world environmentalist, I get images of a skinny guy, long hair, and unkept beard tied to a tree taunting loggers.
Don't take me wrong, I believe we should take care of the planet, it's just the way radicals go about promoting their cause, leaves a bad taste in people's mouth. It's to a point where no one takes them seriously.
Enter AGW, the environmentalist "white horse." Might it be that many of them feel the theory gives them legitimacy? I imagine their pretty tired of being ridiculed. Everybody wants a day in the sun. However, I believe night is approaching fast and eventually all this global warming hysteria will ultimately weaken their cause.
5 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoAGW, Do the ends justify the means?
If the global warming scare makes society more environmentally aware, does that justify the politics and alarm ism promoted by many far-left liberals?
In essense, do you think it is OK to lie to people if in your own mind your intentions are good?
17 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoHow to invoke hysteria?
About a year ago where I live, we started reading about cases of Mersa, (some sort of virus or bacteria) in our local schools. For a time news agencies were publicizing every case. It was not long before it was a common discussion topic among concerned adults in the communities affected. People were frightened their children would fall ill to this potentially serious infection. We later found out that the Mersa outbreak was no outbreak at all and the number of cases were well within normal limits. The only difference was they were being reported by the media, even though there was no unusual cause for concern. Does this sound familiar? With global warming the media is obviously employing this same tactic. All they have to do is get people to focus on something. That's why we see news constantly about breaking ice and stranded polar bears. Because people are focussed the effect of seeing something quite ordinary becomes something to panic about.
4 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoWho gets to decide what is natural?
AGW advocates love to contend that using fossil fuel resources is an unnatural act. What makes harvesting a resource unnatural? All life does it in some fashion. Further, what makes natural automatically "good?" When a volcano explodes and kills thousands, is this a "good" thing because it was a natural occurrence. To most of us I'd say no, but to radical environmentalists who advocate population cuts, maybe so.
9 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoHow does the present Co2 concentration compare with those throughout earth history.?
I've read, that for most of earth's history the co2 level has been much higher and very rarely lower.
Further, it's been claimed that the earth's temperatures have been much cooler even in times of high concentration.
If this info is correct doesn't it cast serious doubt on the current AGW theory?
I've also heard about a greenhouse signature that has yet to be found. How important is this signature to the theory?
7 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoWhat do you think of the 1500 year natural warming cycle theory?
Historical evidence suggests past warmings have been more intense than the present one, at least if there is no significant further warming.
The historical evidence is well documented and clearly points to conditions that could only be caused by warmer temperatures than we are presently experiencing.
This begs the question. Are the current conditions really exceptional as many AGW believers would have us believe. Would they try to erase history to convince us of their position?
13 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoIf you were supreme leader of the world, what laws would you enact to stop AGW?
Remember, your authority is absolute and religously followed. Your power of influence is God-like.
How would you stop catastrophic global warming?
