  • What to feed a dog recovering from Mycotoxicosis (poisoning with mold)?

Does anyone know or can suggest proper diet for a dog that is just starting to eat after 4-5 days of starvation? He was very, very sick and was refusing to eat. I want to give him something lite until he is ready to eat regular dog food.

He is 3 y.o. and was poisoned after he ate moldy cheese which he took out of the garbage. And no, we don't allow him to dig in the trash or even have access to it but ... it just happened :(

    I would appreciate your suggestions.

  • HELP! My dog poisoned himself with molded cheese!?

Hi, my dog (3 yrs old) has eaten molded cheese ("philadelphia") about 10 hrs ago and is now shivering and drooling for the last 4 hours. I gave him 5 ml charcoal (crushed some coals and mixed 1 table spoon of the powder with water) an hour ago (he's about 18 pounds). Do I repeat the charcoal and is there anything else I can do about it?

    Thank you in advance

    P.S. I can't see a vet until Monday morning :(

  • Please help, my cat uses my house as a giant bathroom!?

Please help me solve this problem and get my 4 y.o. cat back in the house.

I've had enough and am out of ideas. As a result I throw my cat out of the house. She'll stay out until I find a solution to the problem, which is using my house as a giant bathroom.

I think she does it on purpose but I don't know why.

I bought her new bathroom so she can have her own (it's two cats in the house)

We treat her well, feed her, pet her etc.

I have taken her to the bathroom when I see that she needs to go

We have taken her outside when she messes up the house

    We do not beat her

We allow all our pets to go out in the yard (we have a total of two cats and a dog).

Both cats are ok with each other. They were born only 6 months apart. No fights and unsolved issues. Each cat has her own food bowl if that matters and the one that is the problem came home second.

The dog also doesn't bother the cats. He is a small bread and is the baby

All the pets are spayed and neutered.

    Where is she messing up?

    - on the kitchen counter and tables, in the sink

    - on the sofa, chairs, bed (we got rid of all the sofas and changed the mattress). I kind of understand this one and didn't really make a big deal of it because it happened when we had someone take care of the pets while we were away for a while (in 2011)

    - on shoes

    - school and other bags and suit cases

    - recently she even peed on the piano. Big problem!

    - paper

    - clothes and clean laundry

The other cat and the dog do not mess up! We live in the same house for the last 3 years. No job or routine changes. No new family members or losses.

I just don't know what to do and think anymore. We love our cat and want her back in the house but she is costing us a lot in damages :(

    Any suggestions?

  • MyHappyTicket.net - is it a legitimate site for booking flights and hotels?

I just stumble upon this site that offers half price plane tickets and hotel reservations - http://myhappyticket.net/

Although I loved the prices it kind of raises suspicions. Do you think it's a scam?

  • Matryoshki stage make up for children. Any ideas?

Next week I have to do Matryoshki make up for little children ( ages7-9 ). Any suggestions for better results? How to make the make up more durable?

I am thinking to use shire face powder to prevent from sweating.

    The cheeks will be red/pink.

What would you suggest for the cheeks of the children who have darker skins?

The eyebrows will be brown and rounded for all of them.

I am thinking to play it simple on the eyes. I would appreciate any help here. Do I just use brown eye pencil or play with colors? No mascara, right?

    Lips will be red.

Again, what would you suggest for dark completions? Would you use lip pencil to trace the lips?

I am opened for different ideas and corrections if needed.

    Thank you in advance

  • Need an interpreter!!! What is my cat saying?

Please help me understand what my cat is trying to say.

She has that kind of favorite toy - hair elastic like this: http://www.premiumgradehair.com/wp-content/uploads...

I notice that now, when she is not a baby anymore, she is carrying that elastic in her mouth and while walking around is making that strange mi aws . It sounds like she is in heat (kind of).

In the beginning I thought she wants me to play with her because she was putting the elastic in front of me so I start playing and she was responding.

Now when we have second cat and she has a play mate, she continues, from time to time to walk around the rooms with this elastic in her mouth.

It looks like she is carrying kittens in and is looking for a secluded area to put it down. She don't bring it to me anymore. And all that mi aw, mi aw.... I feel so sad for her :(

I also see that she is doing this mi aw as soon as my children go to sleep. I have to shush her every night.

So, what is she trying to say? Does she want to play? Do she for some reason has that maternal instinct and thinks that the elastic is a kitten? Why she does that only at night when we are sleeping?

It's really frustrating to not know what she trying to say and not being able to help.

Little facts: she is 9 months old now and is spayed after being in heat once. Never been pregnant.

Our new kitten is only 3 months old and is with us for a month now.

    Please help

  • Do parrots need houses or some kind of secluded area in the cage ?

Next week I am getting a parrot - Red Lourd Amazon ( I hope! ).

I found a cage big enough for me to fit in witch I think will be the best for the bird. The cage is empty so now I have to figure out what to put in. Except the must haves I was wandering if the parrot will need some kind of a house to hide in. May be a coconut shell... some leaves... ? How can I make the cage a better home?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • The Litter Box is not a playground! How to teach my kitten that?

Last night I find my kitten ( 3 months old ) playing in the litter box with her toy.

I took her out, said "NO!" and give her the toy away from the box but she took it, ran directly to the sand and start playing again.

The sand was all over the place.

How to teach her that the litter box is NOT a playground?

My other cat ( 9 months old ) doesn't do that!

  • Caring for Red Lored Amazon Parrot.?

I was initially looking for budgies for my children but was offered a Red Lored Amazon Parrot

    http://www.animalpicturesarchive.com/animal/a4/Mar...

Do you think this is a good and appropriate bird for first time owner? Do those birds have any special needs?

    What do I feed it?

Do I have to have 2 birds or 1 is more than enough?

Any way of knowing the gender of the bird?

Thank you very much for your answers.

  • I am getting Parakeet tomorrow. What should I know and have?

I only have general idea of how to take care of those parrots - I did some googleing lol.

"Beginner" is the real status I should get, so any kind of help and information is welcomed.

Do I get one or two birds? Male or female?

I am thinking of a bigger cage - something like that http://www.parakeetcare.org/parakeet-pictures/bird...

    Is it too big?

I have 2 kittens ( 9 and 4 months old). How do I make the home coming stress free for the bird/s?

What are the MUST HAVES which I have to bring along with the bird/s?

What kind of food is the best? Do I just buy seeds?

I've been looking for age signs and it says that the birds that have lots of stripes on their foreheads are young and the ones that have white are old. Is this true?

How do I recognize a young and healthy bird?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Is Paris good for children? What is there to see?

I am planning a vacation in Europe and still can not decide where to spend the most part of it London or Paris.

I know all about the romantic places, the museums the tower... Unfortunately those are not interesting places for children under 10 y. o. :( and except Disney there is nothing else I can think about.

Can you please tell me is Paris good for children? What is there to see and do?

I have 3 weeks to spend somewhere in France (Paris) and UK (London)

My other question will be about the train that links France and UK. Is it worth it? Is it interesting? Is it cheap? How do I buy tickets for it and does it stop in Paris?

Or may be there is another city in France you can recommend? I really don't know much about France so any suggestion is welcome and greatly appreciated.

  • Mars in First House, how to help my kids?

So, I was told that Mars in First House is not the best thing to have because it makes you feel like every one is attacking you.

It also gives you the urge to be first and the best - makes you competitive which is not that bad.

Can any body tell me what can be done to help my children deal with the "no body likes me! every body is my enemy!" issue?

Their Mars is almost in the end of the First house 18 degrees in Sagittarius (ASC is Scorpio).

    * Mars conjunct Pluto

    * trine Venus ( Aries in 5th house) and

    * sextile to Lilith (3th house)

The Sun (5 degrees) and the Moon (3 degrees) are in Aries on the end of 4 th house.

I guess this information is enough.

    ******

My second question is not as important but I am curious what you have to say about it.

    * Virgo Mars in First house - 6 degrees away from the Virgo ASC and square Neptune in 4th house Sagittarius

    * Sun at the end of 11th house and conjunct Saturn, square Uranus in Second house; trine Neptun in 4th house; sextile Pluto in 2nd house

    * Moon in the 2nd house

  • Recommend reasonable hotel in London.?

I am planning my first trip to London and I noticed that the hotels are really expensive.

Can you recommend something reasonable but still in a good area or at least safe for children?

I don't need anything fancy. Clean and safe will do. May be close to some kind of transportation will be the best location.

Can I find a hotel when I get there or it's safer to book ahead?
