  • How to legally put book cover images on your blog?

I want to start a book review blog and put the cover of the book I am reviewing on there. I have been trying to read fair use laws but they are kind of confusing and basically boiled down to everyone saying that if you are unsure if its "fair use" then just ask the publisher for permission. Well, I emailed a publisher about a week ago requesting permission and I havent heard anything back yet. I am wanting to post a new review everyday but it will be hard to do if it takes weeks (or months?) to get permission.

Is there a way I can legally upload an image of a book cover to my blog? Does the fact that I am using it just as a visual to help my review make it "fair use"? because I am not claiming it as my own and I will not be making money from the image.

Any info you guys can give me on the subject will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!!

  • What are some easy to chew foods for a lunchbox?

My daughter is in 1st grade, and yesterday she got hurt on her playground at school. She fell and busted her lip, skinned her nose, and knocked her front tooth loose. So, now its hard for her to bite anything off using her front teeth, because it makes her tooth hurt.

Well, today for lunch I packed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, thinking that it was soft and be easy and easy for her to chew, but she said that it still made her tooth hurt so she didn't eat lunch today. So, I am trying to figure out if there is anything that would be easy to chew that would stay good in a lunchbox for about 2.5 hours.

I thought about cutting up a hotdog in to small pieces so she wouldn't have to bite it off, but she won't eat cold hotdogs and I don't know if a warm hotdog would be good in two hours (or still warm).

Also, her lip is cut up pretty bad, so it need to be something that will not be too messy and touch her lips. Any suggestions would be great!

    Thank you all in advanced!

  • Is a necklace a bad gift to give a teacher?

My daughter's Christmas party is tomorrow at her preschool, and I totally forgot to get the teacher a present. My sister sells Avon and told me she had an extra necklace that I could give her, but I don't think it might be weired to give a teacher jewelry. It is a silver cross on a silver chain. I don't want to not get her anything but I also don't think a cheap necklace would be good either. Would it be better to just not get her a gift?

  • What is the strangest question you have ever asked your kids?

I was just curious is if there are any parents out there who have had to ask their kids weired questions that you never thought you would have to ask. For example, one question I have had to ask my kids is "who keeps sticking socks in the toilet?" Which, out of all the mischievous things that I imagined my kids doing, that was definately one that I never even imagined them doing.

  • why is the Flu vaccine legal?

I have heard that the Flu vaccine is very dangerous.(both the shot and the nasal spray) I also know someone that has had the flu vaccine and still had to be hospitalized because they caught the flu.

I have also read that when you take the vaccine it can mutate into a different stran of the virus.

So, why do people keep getting the vaccine if it is so dangerous and ineffective? And why is it even legal? Shouldn't the FDA take it off the market?

  • cheap or free fun things to do with a 4 and 6 year old?

I have two little girls, and their dad and I have just recently divorced. The whole time we were married I was a stay at home mom, so it is really hard for me adjusting to working, paying bills, and managing the money. My ex husband always did all of that. Anyways, my problem is that everytime they go to their dad's house (every other weekend) their dad takes them to do really fun things like he takes them to chuck E. Cheese, mini golf, movies and stuff like that. I would love to do all that with them to, I just don't have the money. I take them to the park a lot, and the other day I let them dress up and I hid candy all over the house and let them find it. (Kinda like a halloween meets Easter Bunny type thing) they seemed to enjoy it, but the still seem to have more fun with their dad. He is Starting to become the "fun parent" and I am the broke boreiing one. I was wondering if anyone has fun things to do with a four and six year old that is free or pretty cheap. I would really appreciate any feedback :)

    Thanks!

  • what is a good thing to pack in a school lunch for a child?

My daughter is in Kindergarten and refuses to buy a lunch at school. She has been carrying her lunch all year, but the only thing that I have found that she will really eat is pb&j sandwich and the pizza lunchables. She is kinda getting tired of eating the same thing everyday. Does anyone have any ideas of something different that I can put in her lunch? If anyone can give me any ideas or tell me what you pack your kids for lunch I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

  • how do you get a 4 year old to take her medicine?

My 4 year old daughter has a sinus infection, but I can't get her to take her antibiotics. I have tried everything! I have tried to give her a little bit of medicine, then a little bit of chocolate milk. She will take the chocolate milk good, but she spits out the medicine. I have even tried to bribe her with candy. She has had this medicine for two days and has only had half a dose of it. (She is suppose to take it twice a day.) I am worried that she is going to get worse. I told her that if she doesn't take it then I will have to take her back to the Dr. And they will have to give her a shot, but she doesn't seem to care. If anyone has any advice on how to get her to take her medicine I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance!

  • should I take my daughter to the doctor?

My 6 year old daughter has had a cold for about a week now, and just now when I picked her up from school she told me that her ear hurts, but only when she talks or chews something. She does not have a fever. We are about to have a snow storm in the next few hours. They have an after hours clinic where I live, but I am afraid to take her because I don't want to get stuck in the storm. However, I am also afraid that it will get worse in the next couple of days, and we will be stuck at the house because of all the snow.

So should I take my chances and go ahead and take her to the Dr tonight or should I just wait it out. Also if anyone has any advice on how to make an earache go away I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks :)

  • when to charge a Nintendo DS?

I got a Nintendo DS Lite for my daughter for Christmas. I was wondering if I had to charge the battery completely before she uses it or can you still play with it while is charging? Also, if it does have to be comlpetely charged, how long does it stay charged if it is not being used. Could I charge it tonight and expect it to still have some battery life left on Christmas morning?

Any information would be very helpful :)

My daughter is in Kindergarten, and is about to have a Christmas party. Her teacher asked for help with it. I volunteered to help, but I thaught I was going to help set up for the party. However, her teacher informed me today that she wants me to help plan it, and wants me to help come up with a few different ideas for games, and activities that they can do. The problem is that I have no clue what kind of games to do at the party. If anyone can give me a some ideas of what you think a kindergartener would like to do at a christmas party I would really appreciate it!!!!

  • why are my parakeets fighting?

I got 2 parakeets one day ago. I got two because I was told that they do better in pairs. However, when I woke up this morning I found them squaking and biting at each other, and they have been doing this off and on all day. Is it normal for them to fight? Do I need to put them in differnt cages? Will they learn to get along?

P.s. they are both female if that helps.

    Thanks in advance! ;)
