  • can atheist and christians be friends?

So one of my friends recently turned atheist. Now he is trying to convert everyone he knows. I understand this is a normal thing, just like when someone finds a new religion, they want to spread it to everyone. As I see him attack various people on social media, I have come to wonder...

Is it possible for atheists to be friends with christians without trying to push his morals onto them? And then the same the other way around.

I am personally a man of faith, and I have no trouble befriending religious or non-religious, or people of other faiths. It is there choice to me, and free will says it isn't my life, it is there. The best I can do is lead by example. But I find that atheists, at least the ones I encounter, find that they must challange or try to convert me all the time. Is this normal? which leads me to if atheists can let other people of faith live, without having atheist's beliefs shoved down the necks of the people of faith.

P.S. Yes i know faith might have been pushed down yours before, but I would hope logic to dicticate that the best way to win someone is not to commit the same crimes you claim they commited.

  • Are unions a free market solution?

Many people are against government regulations and want a "free market", and then I heard some say that unions are bad, aren't unions a free market solution for where government is not in? In places like Norway, unions came about due to lax government regulations, and now whenever a bill is passed, the very strong union makes sure it isn't bad for the people.

Or are unions just another form of government, separated by industry rather than states / territories?

  • How can people hate so much?

this is more of a physiology question; but what is the cause for people to put out blanket hatred? to claim that they love humans but then have it in their hearts to claim that we should have a genocide? Is there a physiologal reason for this?

  • Was Jesus a Humanist?

Teaching to love your neighbor and to be known by the love they share for each other?

I just wonder because I see a lot of so called "Christians" who spout hatred and wanting to "kill all muslims"... And seeing as Christian means Christ like, I am wondering what nature was Christ?

I don't remember him entering any other temples to destory them, or a call to the people to take them out.

  • why don't we fix the estate taxes?

if you die with lots of money, they tax it, sure that sounds fine, but what about when you die with debt? Shouldn't we in the spirit of helping poverty people, settle all debts via selling the estate, and if there isn't enough the debt is wiped clean instead of going to the children?

  • why do people take peoples word at face value?

Mainly directed at atheists, who scour the bible to "prove" it is wrong, but then spend no time figuring out if someone who commits a crime is Christian or not. So here is what I see....

Some guy claims to be Christian, then kills people. Atheists blame Christianity for this hatred. And that is where it ends, no one looks at the bible and go, "look, says you should not kill, and to turn the other cheek, so this guy must not have been Christian after all!"

Instead they just seem to accept that he must be Christian and the teachings much be evil.

So my question to atheists, why is it if a murder happens by a Christian, it is the religions fault, but when an atheist kills someone, it isn't educations fault?

  • Is atheist morality just mob mentality?

I have been watching a lot of videos surrounding atheism and morals, and from what I gathered, they are based around mob mentality.

Rape is wrong because people as a whole say it is wrong, and thus there is a law against it. Same kill murder, theft, etc. Because society has said it is wrong, people pick that up as their moral code, which again in a sense is nothing more than mob mentality, people doing something, right or wrong, because everyone else is.

So for areas not covered by law, what morality is there with atheists? Lets say donations to third world countries. Religious people should feel a desire to help out less fortunate people, almost every religion has that. So why would atheists do it? what LOGICAL reasoning do they have to help someone who will never see them?

  • How to turn a woman on?

I am slightly confused, maybe I just know a different sort of woman, but all the normal things don't work, and worst of all she won't talk to me about it. A lot of online guides suggest asking her, but her reply is to "google it" or "i don't know".

Some things I have tried and she has said did nothing for her.

    1) spending lots of time with her

    2) watching a movie and cuddling

    3) playing with beasts

    4) kissing

    5) holding hands

    6) eating food

    7) cologne

    8) gift giving

We even took one of the 5 love language tests to see hers, and she basically scored equally among all types, thus giving no clue. Anytime she does take it to show one way, the next day can be completely different. One thing I do know, is when she is working (as at one point only I was working), we tended to have it more often.

Anyone have any suggestions? At this point, I am open to all sorts of ideas.

  • Is there a good website for Islamic rebuttal to common myths?

I know there is a lot of anti-muslim websites out there that often quote one scripture out of context, as you can do in many different ways in the bible and just about any religion. I was wondering if there was a site to offer or address these issues that is being explained by a pro-muslim person.

I figure if i read one side, I should read the other side to make an informed decision.

  • what are some good movies on the history of copyright and public domain?

I once saw a video back in the 90s about the history of the public domain and the new copyright laws of today. I was wondering if anyone might either know the name of that video or any other videos that goes over the social effects of longer copyright laws.

  • how much does it cost to live in mexico?

I currently live in the states and i heard it is cheaper to live in mexico. Right now I live on about a 40k a year income and consider myself doing decent. What is a 40k lifestyle like in mexico? Or maybe a better way to explain it is how much does american middle class earn compared to mexican?

Assuming my income doesn't change from 40k american dollars a year. Would I be moving into a nicer life down there?

  • why does Yahoo answers delete some posts but not others?

I personally affilated with one of the top health companies in the world, but when I post suggestions to use my products (and i only post on questions related), my answer is deleted.

But when someone else posts about drinking red bull or some other commercial product, it isn't deleted? Can anyone explain to me why this is? Why is it okay to promote some products while others are not?

  • how can someone change their frequency?

I was doing a little internet surfing and found that when a body has a frequency of like 40'ish, cancer will start to appear. The average healthy human has a freqency of 60'ish. So I'm wondering two things.

First, is there a way to measure what my frequency is?

and second, is there a way to change the frequency?

I am not entirely sure how a frequency would be changed, but I was hoping for some references to a research site or a very good explanation on how to change a frequency. Can you just bombard your cells with a frequency and the cells in your body will start to change to that frequency? or does something else need to happen?
