  • How to stop coworkers from bringing junk food for everyone?

Okay, you may think it's awesome that my coworkers bring in pizza, donuts, cookies, cake, pastries, chocolates for everyone else to eat left in the break room, but my coworkers are fat morons who will die early or have a stroke and become half-paralyzed. I'm constantly watching my diet and walking past free junk food during the most stressful part of my day (at work) is difficult. I know you're saying, just use your will power, but what if you were trying to quit smoking and coworkers left free cigarettes in the break room? What if you were trying to quit pot and coworkers left free joints in the break room? Get my drift? Can't I get HR to pass some rule that if you bring junk food to share, you have to leave it in your cubicle and you can email everyone instead of leaving it in the break room? I'm probably not going to do this, because I'm already pushing it as a trouble maker and my boss hates me anyhow. He's one of the fat losers.

  • How to answer a "Predictive Index" Personality Test?

I'm taking an employment personality test called "Predictive Index" where it first asks: "Check those words that you feel describe the way you are expected to act by others." Then it shows ths exact same words and asks, "Check those words that you yourself believe really describe you." Obviously, I'm going to check all the good qualities on that I believe describe me (e.g., calm, popular, polite, dynamic, good humored) but my question is, should I check fewer or an equal number of words to describe how I believe others expect me to act? If I feel other people expect less of me, is that a bad thing? I tend to think people expect less of anyone until they get to know them. Or will it think I'm utterly conceited or delusional?

  • Can you explain cosmology and quantum physics?

As far as I understand, you can look out to the stars and study cosmology or you can look inside atoms and study quantum physics. Cosmology deals with relativity while quantum physics deals with quantum mechanics and the odd behavior of very, very, very tiny things inside quarks. The laws that govern both areas are different, hence, there is an attempt to find the unifying theory of all physics. Please correct me.

  • Does whisky get better with age?

I'm new to whisky/whiskey and I've drunk a lot of wine and with wine, barrel aging makes wine smoother, richer, more complex, and mellow, but I have to say, the 18 year old 20 year old whiskys and whiskeys I've had actually seem less smooth than say Maker's Mark. Is this just a naive palate? Like new wine drinkers are drawn to thick, buttery chards? With old whiskeys all I get is the woodsy, heavy oak character but actually less vanilla, toffee flavor. I actually like unoaked whiskey too which has a floral, fruity flavor. What do you get out of long aged whiskey besides more woodsy oak?

  • Why spell numbers in sentences and why not start a sentence with a number?

I write technical reports. I write a sh*tload of numbers in that report. I find it annoying that my boss thinks I should write out all numbers under 10 and never start a sentence with a number. I feel this makes it harder and not easier to read which is the original intent of these stupid grammar rules. For example:

2 x 17 results in an even number whereas 3 x 17 results in an odd number. 50% of people believe this is a trivial fact. Of them, 7 thought it was stupid while 19 felt it was just useless information. 18,000 people were surveyed, and 5 percent thought the survey itself was useless.

Here it is with all conventional grammar rules:

The equation two multiplied by 17 results in an even number whereas three multiplied by 17 results in an odd number. There are 50% of people who believe this is a trivial fact. Of them, seven thought it was stupid while 19 felt it was just useless information. There were 18,000 people surveyed, and five percent thought the survey itself was useless.

the second one is much longer, much more complicated to read quickly

  • POLL: Do you hate your boss?

My micromanaging idiot boss is driving me nuts. If you can convince me your boss is worse, you get 10 points.

  • How bad do you hate your boss?

What is some of the stupid sh$t he/she does? My boss is a micro-manager control freak who tells me to write a report with no direction and then rewrites it and then edits it while I'm sitting there. Then he keeps telling me how it's missing this and that, the very stuff he deleted! Then he tells me other people don't like the way I wrote the report and when I tell him he mostly wrote it, he accuses me of not asking him more for help writing it. He said they liked one chart I had, so he takes credit for that and accuses me of not writing the report well.

  • If you were lost in the wild, which direction is the best to walk?

Is there any logic to walking a certain direction, like a higher probability of running into a highway. If you walk west or east you might get blinded or burned by the sun. Or would you try to find a river and go downstream? What are some basic survival tips as far as where to walk? Avoid open fields or dark forests? Climb over mountains or go further to walk around them? Walk into canyons or around them?

  • Is gun control really a racist ploy?

Pretty soon the majority of Americans will be minorities, and the majority of law enforcement is white, so if guns are outlawed, then more whites will have guns than minorities. England outlawed guns because the majority of people in London are minorities and the English didn't want the minorities armed. Isn't gun control just the first step of a liberal race war?

  • Who's the most creepiest promotional character ever?

For me it's either Flo the Progressive woman or that Burger King dude in the king outfit. I think Flo would win in a death match. Flo is like that wierd aunt who lives by herself and is a bit schizophrenic and believes the CIA is taking parts of her brain out at night and they travel through the walls.

  • What is an affordable smooth, creamy, vanilla whisky?

I like Maker's Mark, but I don't like the fact that it's made mostly from corn. Any rye or barley whiskies, Irish or Scotch out there that are smooth, creamy, viscious, and vanilla under $70?

  • Why does Chef Ramsey call people "donkeys"?

Is this an English thing or is he simply calling them an "a$$" but can't say that on TV?

  • Why do football fans think MMA fans are losers?

MMA is all about manly aggression, but football fans say its sissy when all they do is hug each other in the missionary position. But then I argue, football they slap each other's rear ends and say stuff like, "switching out the tightend with a wide receiver to penetrate deep in the back field and score". They're all so obsessed with deeper penetration and opening up holes and gaps.

  • If she says her friend's band is in town for the weekend, is she inviting me?

So I dated this woman twice and I asked her what she's doing this weekend, and she says, "my friend's band is in town so we'll be at so and so club". Is that an invitation for me or a blow off? If she wanted to invite me wouldn't she say, "...so come by and check it out." but if she didn't want me to show up, wouldn't she have omitted the name of the club?

  • Why does the US give away all its top secret military technology?

It loses its top secret stealth drone to Iran, it loses a stealth helicopter to Pakistan, it loses a stealth fighter to Serbia, it loses top secret surveillance equipment in an airplane it landed in China. Is it doing this on purporse like when Soviet pilots would land MiG's in Allied countries? Why can't it just build in self-destruct explosives on the aircraft??? Or bomb the downed aircraft afterwards??? You may argue that the bombs may accidentally discharge or its added weight, but the jet fuel or bombs in a bomber may accidentally discharge and plastic explosives do not weigh a lot compared to the billions we lose when the enemy steals all our technology. The brightest minds working for DARPA invent all this, and then the dullest minds at defense contractors and the US military just give it all away.

  • Republicans, I hate liberals but come on, the rich own you?

I used to be a Republican bc I hate big government, but with Republicans you get big government anyway. Instead of say 50% social entitlements and 50% military, you simply get 49% social entitlements and 51% military. The only difference is tax cuts for the wealthy so we just borrow more from China so rich people pay less tax. Why do you keep believing Republicans care about you middle class folk or even lower upper class professionals? Why not switch to either Libertarian or Democrat? Why not revolt against the rich. Trickle down doesn't work anymore because in the past, the rich used to create jobs for Americans by investing more money from not paying taxes, but now, they either create jobs for China or invest in multi-global corporations who don't get taxed by anyone.

  • Is fiber actually bad for us?

They say that cow flatulence contributes to global warming, but how about human flatulence? There are 6.8 billion of us, and if we all ate more fiber, wouldn't we be destroying the planet? I just saw an ad for a Fiber One brownie bar and thought about this, because Fiber One anything makes me fart all day long. Half a Metamucil wafer makes me fart all day. I'm very sensitive to fiber I guess.

  • Can we once and for all agree on what next means?

Highway signs say "next exit" and really mean "this exit". Let's say you're waiting for a bus and you see a bus coming, you say, "I'm noting taking this bus, I'm taking the next bus." If it's Sunday and you say, "let's meet next Wednesday" you don't mean this Wednesday, you mean the Wednesday after this Wednesday. Am I right?
