I have over 30 years experience in the automobile industry both on the manufacturer side and on the retail side of the business. I am currently employed as an instructional designer and developer by an Asian car manufacturer. I develop performance improvement programs for automotive dealership parts and service personnel. I am fully certified as a Master Technician by ASE with certifications in all 8 technical areas plus the Advanced Engine Performance L-1 Certification. I have a BA in Anthropology from NYU and an MBA in Business Administration. I love running marathons, using photography as a creative tool and resurrecting old cars (current projects are a 1968 Chevelle and a 55 Buick Special) with my son. I have 4 Hondas (a 2003 Accord and 3 '03-'05 Civics)as daily drivers. I figure that there's no sense in knowing something if you can't use it to benefit someone. I also believe that you need to continue to learn throughout your life. I'm having a wonderful life

  • Olympus camera repair?

I have an Olympus 720 digital waterproof camera that won't power up. The battery is fully charged. Any ideas on what if any tricks there are to booting the camera or do I need to send it for repair? Any recommendations on repair places if that is the case?

I am trying to build a course in the Microsoft LCDS software and I can't find a way to copy and paste any existing text content into the templates used by the LCDS. Nor can I cut and paste text between templates/pages I've created within the LCDS. Can anyone give me a clue how to do the copy & paste or how to upload text into the LCDS?

  • 94 Cavalier 4 cyl fuel odor from engine compartment after shut down?

I have a 94 Chevy Cavalier base model 4 cylinder. About a month ago I began to notice a gasoline odor that begins to become evident about 15 minutes after shutting the car off. Over the last month I think I narrowed it down to the engine compartment and more specifically the area around the fuel pressure regulator for the fuel injector rack.

I don't smell anything when the car is running and fuel ecomomy hasn't been effected. There isn't any sign of any external leak except for a damp residue on the top of the fuel rail in front of the #4 injector but it doesn't smell like gas when I try to rub it off on a cloth. Strange thing is that the residue comes back after I clean it but I can't tell where its coming from.

Has anyone seen this before? Is it due to a leaking o-ring on the injector and if so, can the o-rings be replaced separately? Is it much work to pull the injector rack? Is there anything else you may think coud be the cause?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated

  • 1994 Chevy Cavalier--Vibration at Idle?

I have had a nasty engine vibration at idle in my 1994 Cavalier with the 4 cylinder/automatic trans that I can't seem to get my arms around. Raising the idle slightly by resting my foot on the accelerator eliminates the vibration, but I don't believe that the idle is adjustable on that car.

I have replaced the front side engine mount that was broken. I've changed the plugs and wires (distributorless ignition) and the ignition coil with no effect. Oddly, when the front struts were changed (unrelated--leaking) the vibration diminished for a few weeks.

I haven't crawled under the car to see if the lower engine mount is trashed; I understand its not as easy to replace as the front mount was.

Has anyone had experience with this condition? Any ideas? The engine otherwise runs great and the fuel economy is 25 city 32 highway so I don't think its an internal engine/fuel/ignition problem.

    Any help would be appreciated

  • 1998 Dodge Dakota--no heat?

My 1998 Dakota has no heat; the hot water hoses into and out of the heater core are hot. The mode doors work and direct air to the dash vents, defroster and floor. Problem is that the air is outside temp even when the engine is at normal operating temp. Does anyone know if the blend door is vacuum operated, cable operated or electrically operated. Also, do you know how to get to the blen door if it can be operated manually. Lastly, would a stuck hot water shut off valve cause this (I have hot water both in and out of the heater core so this may be unlikely)

    thanks in advance.
