1. At what age do Muslim children start to be told about Islam, either formally or at home? 2. How are they told this, again, formally and at home? 3. Are both the above the same for boys and girls?

A recently published study has revealed that the average height of European men has increased by approximately 11 cm (4.33 inches) over the last century. This is a fundamental aspect of the Theory of Evolution i.e. that changes in a species (average height of human males) caused by environmental factors (better food, living conditions etc.) are incorporated into the genetics of the species and passed on to the next generation (they produce children who are on average slightly taller who then produce children who are slightly taller still, etc. etc until after a century, the average total increase is 11 cm).

It is quite easy to understand (but also references a simplified version).

The only requirement is that you shelve any religious bigotry, keep an open mind and apply some common sense.

I propose this as a reasonable answer to the challenge thrown out by creationists/religious bigots to

"Give an example of any aspect of Evolution that can be shown to be true" and is a demonstrable example of evolutionary change in our own species that has happened in a remarkably short time.

I suspect there will still be some hard-liners who simply refuse to accept the facts as presented and who will come up with alternative explanations such as:-

"It was all god's work. He pinched everyone by the nose with one hand and by the big toe with the other and gently tugged so they all were stretched by about 1 mm each year which is why they ended up about 11 cm taller after 100 years"

"It is all lies, the sole purpose of all scientific research and thinking and the justification for the enormous amounts of money expended on scientific research is to debunk religion and a belief in god. It's all part of a gigantic conspiracy by the scientific community and scientists are just very stupid people who have lied themselves into a job."

"The International Standard for the metre adopted in 1793 was not actually used in this investigation and so the measurements taken 100 years ago were with a different type of tape measure to the ones taken at the present time "

Any other "explanation" you choose to dream up

If the answer is "yes", then why are there these two separate religions and does anyone have an (approximate) idea how many people on earth subscribe to each religion.

If the answer is "no", then which one is the stronger i.e. the real god. Surely, two all powerful, supreme beings cannot exist in the same universe at the same time.

Is their belief just unquestioning belief without foundation or can they offer any actual proof (I mean proper documented, scientific proof) that it is the 'word of god'.

The last time I looked into it, the debate was whether George W. Bush was the all time worst American President ever or whether he was just one of the three worst presidents.

Was any decision ever made on this?

Is there any independent evidence for the existence of jesus or the things that are supposed to have happened around the time of his birth, The Romans (and also the Jews) were pretty precise historians and things like a new star appearing in the sky or the local king slaughtering all infants under two years old are not things that would normally go unnoticed.
