  • MPG for the 24ft Budget moving truck?

I'm renting a 24ft truck from Budget next week. Does anyone happen to know what kind of miles per gallon to expect? The bulk of the driving will be on the freeway with some, but not many hills.

  • Samsung 42" plasma issue?

Hi, I have a Samsung 42" plasma thats about 4 years old now. It's model HP-R4252 if anyone is familiar with them. Anyway, the TV was on then just all of a sudden went black. It still has sound but thats it, no picture. I've checked all of the cords and everything like that.

I guess my question is, I've tried to read up on what the problem may be. Does this problem sound like it could be caused by a bad Y sustain board? If not any suggestions are welcome. I'd really like to get it working again.

  • Do you have to stop at weigh stations?

If anyone knows, I'm moving from Michigan to Tennessee this weekend. When I picked the rental truck (16ft truck from Budget with a car dolly to pull my car) the gentleman said that you have to stop at any weigh stations along the way.

I wanted to see if that was correct or does anyone have any kind of experience with it. I've just never heard of doing this, although I've never moved this far.

If I have to, what do you do at a weigh station? Do I just stop the truck on a scale or do you drive slowly or ??? Do I need any kind of paperwork or anything like that?

    Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Why is everyone dumping on the Big 3 with this "bailout"?

Here is what I don't understand about all of this.

The government is giving the banking/mortgage industry $700 billion to assist. This is a bailout, as there is no plan to repay that money. Look at AIG who got $85 billion and days after the AIG execs spent $440,000 dollars at a resort in California. Citigroup for example was given $20 billion a few weeks ago because they ask for it. There was no Congressional hearing. They made a phone call and got the money.

So tell me, how is it fair that the Big 3 must be grilled for a LOAN. Yes it's a LOAN that they MUST pay back.

So why is everyone all up in arms about a $14 billion loan when the banking/mortgage got a $700 billion dollar gift? Why is no one mad at AIG getting $85 billion as a gift? Why is no one mad at Citigroup for getting a $20 billion gift. NONE of their CEO's were asked to come to Washington to explain things.
