I have a Toshiba L305-SP6944C laptop and it's giving me problems when using Ubuntu. The thing is that the fan would start to work only at 78°C (which is a lot) and it doesn't turn off after that (keeping the good 35-40°C).

I have tried using lm-sensors and I can read ACPI Virtual Device and Core 0/Core 1 temperature but I can't do anything else, because it doesn't work anything else.

I've tried with toshset, fancontrol and others but toshiba utilies says it doesn't find a supported toshiba kernel and when usng pwmconfig it says that I don't have any pwm-able device.

I just want to be able to control the fan so it doesn't go beyong 45° (or something like that) but I can't. Only thing I can do is switch back to Windows, but I wouldn't like that.

Please, assist me with anything you can, I'm not a geek, but I know some things.

Tengo una gatita chiquita, y ya le enseñé a que haga sus necesidades en una cajita con arena, pero ya sale al jardín y al patio, y se lleva bien con los dos perritos que tengo, pero no sé como enseñarle que haga sus necesidades en el patio y no en la cajita.

Si le saco la cajita probablemente se hará en el suelo o en la alfombra.

I've realised that now pets have all kinds of diseases (diabetes, cancer, that cat AIDS, tumours, etc.) and they have to be treated properly with human or animal medication...

My granma, for instance, does not recalls pets losing hair and there were no significant diseases (apart from dystemper).

Are we killing our pets? Do they feel what we are doing to the planet? Is it that we didn't know before and animals just died and no one cared? What do you think?

El ventilador (o disipador, no se, esa cosa que da vueltas para enfriarla) de mi tarjeta Nvidia 6200 AGP 8x... comenzó a sonar de manera extraña, pero dandole un golpecito al gabinete deja de hacerlo. Me he fijado si sigue funcionando y lo hace, asi que no hay peligro de recalentamiento... Alguien tiene una teoría de porque suena?...
