  • 2006 ford diesel white smoke?

i have an 06 ford E-350 diesel, and unless its at operating temp, it misfires and puffs thick white smoke during acceleration. i know from experience that thick white smoke means the fuel has been injected but failed to ignite, plus i can feel the misfires. not a head gasket issue as it eats no coolant. mainly happens while driving during warm up but once it hits operating temp it runs like a top. could it be a cold compression issue? thanks in advance for any valuable info. also, please don't respond with "take it to a mechanic" because i am a mechanic and i'm just looking to find insider knowledge from someone that's dealt with this problem before i tear into it.

  • Where can I find a woman that will care about me as a person?

I'm a 29 year old man, in decent shape and my grandmother tells me that I'm handsome. I've had the same job for 4 years in a thriving and growing career field. I've dated women only to find that they have some secret woman agenda to take advantage of my emotions, which scares me. I have also dated (1) woman that I believe sincerely cared for me, but I f*cked that up on my own accord and deeply regret it. My father tells me that i should go to church and just start talking to women there, but thats hard for me as I'm not very social. I'm a Christian and an Iraq veteran. I don't need much, I make all the money I need and have several vehicles. I've tried the online dating thing over the years without much success, except for (1). In short, where else can I go? Are there any good women left?

  • what does 1" MOA mean for a rifle spec?

i saw the accuracy spec for a rifle rated at 1" MOA, is it implied to be at 100 yards? i understand the basics of MOA as a specification, but was just wondering how they could rate it at 1" and not have the distance. is 100 yards a standard, or am i way off here?

  • computer perfomance question!!?

i recently accuired a used computer from a friend of a friend. he cleared out the hard drive and installed windows XP and nothing else. the machine itself is an omnitech with an intel pentium three 996 MhZ and 256 MB of Ram. it has an intel(R) 82815 graphics controller with 32 MB memory. i have high speed cable internet. first, my problems. while watching some videos on youtube and other media sites, the picture gets choppy like it's loading, and when you switch to full screen mode it can't handle it at all, it just freezes on whatever was on the screen when you hit the full screen button. I know this is not by any means a fast machine, but i was wondering if i could upgrade it cheaply just to get it to play videos in full screen mode, it has two more slots to put "RAM sticks" into, and i'm wondering how slow my video card is in comparison to the average and if it's worth upgrading my video card. OR... should i just nurse this machine along and not stick any money into it while i save for a new computer. thanks!

  • how do i get the correct length on a new mountain bike chain?

i wrapped the chain around the largest front sprocket and the largest rear sprocket (with the derailer swung out of the way) and marked the chain at the first possible link to get the chain to fit around the sprokets. what i'm wondering is if thats too tight for the derailer to work properly. do i need to lengthen it any more links or is that good enough? it's an 18 speed trek and the chain is 1/2 inch pitch. thanks in advance.

  • why does my refrigerator rattle?

i know the noise is coming from the compressor assembly. i checked the mounts and they seem to be fine. when i rock the housing in its mounts slightly i can hear the rattling noise. but when the fridge is in operation, it only makes the noise at the end of the refrigeration cycle when the compressor shuts off. i know i can't fix it but i was wondering why it's making the noise and how long it could run like that. it has been making the noise for 8 months now and im surprised it hasn't cracked a line from all the flex that must be going on.

  • certain song from the film carlito's way?

it's the music that is playing when carlito goes up on the roof of an adjacent building and uses a trash can lid as an umbrella while he watches gail dance in the building across the way, i know i've heard this music in another film before. my uncle bet me that it was the music tim robbins plays in shawshank redemption when he locks himself in the wardens office, but i allready found out its not the same song. so i need to find out what was playing in carlitos way and i can win my bet. thanks in advance!

  • trial motorcycle controls?

do trial bikes have a conventional clutch operated by a lever on the handlebars, or is it a centrifugal clutch? also how many speeds does the transmission have? and as far as the brakes go, where are they located? it just seems like it would be really hard to do the things they do on trial bikes with the same control setup as a normal motorcycle
