Hoofprints
Hello! I am new to YA, but not new to horses. I have been involved with riding and training since the age of 4. My background is hunters and dressage, but enjoy western disciplines too. A few years ago, my husband told me he had enough of all this horse nonsense and it was gonna be him or the horses. I am divorced and live on the East Coast USA and enjoy traveling, gardening, and all things equine.

Can someone help me to determine a horse keeping cost comparison between the US and Italy?
I am a US citizen, and am looking at relocating to Italy within the next year. I am in the process of selling my horses and hope to be able to afford a pleasure horse in Italy. Can anyone give me an idea of the board and general upkeep costs of keeping a horse in Italy? As it looks now, I most likely will be in the Southern portion below Rome in an area called Cilento. Any helpful advise is appreciated. Thank you.

I am adult ADD and have been taking generic Ritalin for several months as the brand name is not affordable in my insurance plan. I have noticed progressively worse stomach upset/indigestion/heartburn etc on this product and is getting progressively more distressing. What course of action can I take. Simply taking otc heartburn remedies is no longer effective and obviously I cant stop taking my meds. My doctor has said there is no connection between the two, but I'm the one suffering the results. I would appreciate suggestions from the medical community. Thank you.
Medicine1 decade agoI need some suggestions for the best way to ?
safely store saddlery for a period of time.
It could be a year or more.
I may need to go abroad for an extended period of time to live with an ailing family member.
I can make arrangements for my horses, but what is the best way to deal with my tack? I don't want to sell it.
I may need to put it in a rental storage facility or similar.
Where ever it will be, it will get no attention until I return to the states and I'm concerned with mold, dry rot, etc.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
5 AnswersHorses1 decade agoHow can I keep my good, wool show pads from being ruined by moths?
I am on a hiatus from showing for a while and I have several good wool saddle blankets that I thought I stored properly. Today, I went to check on them and found some with moth holes. Suggestions? I prefer not to use mothballs. They just make me gag....but open to other suggestions.
Thanks!

1 AnswerReptiles1 decade agoGorilla in the barn?
I have a problem that I could use a little help with.
I am a divorced woman and I live alone on a small farm and have recently redid my barn so I could take in a few boarders to supplement my income. At this time I have 4 boarders. 3 women and 1 man.
He always pays his bill on time, but that is his only saving grace. He is big rude obnoxious brute. He man - handles his horse. This man I can not tolerate. I have seen him actually punch his horse in the face when the horse wouldn't stand for mounting. He is vulgar to the other ladies and obviously has no respect for women or animals. He has hit on all of us at one time or another over the past 8 months he has been here. He is making everyone uncomfortable. I even found him standing in my kitchen once (uninvited!) and I have seen him kick one of my dogs. He creeps me out. I confess to being a little afraid of him and would like to get him gone. I think if I tell him to finding another boarding situation, things will get ugly. Suggestions?

But you were never raised in the faith, are you still Jewish?
If not, what are you? I understand that people from other backgrounds can convert to Judaism, but what if you where born from Jewish parents, but never practiced the faith or grew up in a "Jewish Household"?
This is my situation, so I would truly like to know the answer to this.
Thank you.

4 AnswersHorses1 decade agoSafe Storage of old tack?
I have a couple old saddles from the 1920's thru the 1960's that I don't use on a regular basis. They are stored on racks in the house and covered, but I have noticed small tuffs of sheepskin coming loose and falling out. Is there anything I can do to keep the sheepskin intact? Why is it falling out. (we can rule out mice).
thanks !
