Does anyone know any pieces in which string players are told to hit the wood of the instrument with their fingers/hand?

Would I use about the same mass as I would use if I were using sugarpaste (fondant)?

Both of us are about grade 7 level but we will probably want to do something below that level as we only have 4 weeks to learn it. It has to be under 5 minutes.

I have been learning the Christmas Concerto (Concerto VIII) by Corelli, with my orchestra and I need to find a good recording of it to listen to. In all of the recordings that I have found, there have been lots of ornaments and other such things that are not in the original piece of music. All of the 'ornament free' performances that I have found have been very unprofessional.

Can anyone recommend a good 'extra ornaments free' version of Corelli's Concert VIII (the Christmas Concerto)?
