Hi I have been learning Japanese for some time now. I have learned the basic writings of Japanese called Hiragana and Katakana and right now I am learning Kanji.

Kanji is very hard to learn, or I don't know how to study them.

I get that Kanji can have more than one pronunciation and meaning.

For example, Kami or かみ is Hair on the head, Paper and God. 髪, 紙, 神 respectably.

I have no idea how the Japanese manage to incorporate Chinese Hanzi with their language.

When I said it is hard, I meant Kanji not Hanzi.. I think learning Hanzi is easier since one Chinese Character only has one pronunciation and one meaning unlike Japanese.

So my question is... What Language is easier to learn?

The pronunciation in Japanese is easy for me since I speak Spanish. And I get that Chinese have tonal sounds. Like if you say Ah with a soft voice it means one thing but Ah in a deeper voice means another thing... I hate that but it is what it is..

I wouldn't mind learning Chinese since I like learning their characters. I don't really pay attention to the strokes but mostly the radicals, that's why I am able to learn how to write it faster. And it is a plus since it only has one meaning unlike Japanese.

I hate the fact that Japanese is a contextual language.. How would I know if a Japanese person is talking about Hair, Paper or God??? lol.. Both Japanese and Chinese is hard and easy at the same time.

So I'm reading One Piece in Japanese and I'm stuck on this word.

It's 欲しけりゃ and くれてやる。

The full dialog is おれの財宝か？　欲しけりゃ　くれてやる　ぜ。。。

I know that おれの財宝か？ means My treasure? and I know that ぜ is use to indicate a command

and I know that 欲し is a word which means Want/desire..

what is けりゃ and くれてやる?

So basically the Japanese sentence is

富・名声・力、かつて この世のすべてを手に入れた男、海賊王・ゴール­ドロジャー。

and the English translation is

Gold Roger, The Pirate King had achieved it all. Wealth, Fame, and Power had all been his.

How does the translation work?

I mean I know that ゴール­ドロジャー is Gold Roger and that 富・名声・力 means Wealth, Fame, Power.

But how does one go about translating that?

I know that the first part says Kono Sakuhin ha Fikushon Desu.. which means this is a work of fiction.

and I know that 事件 (jiken) means Incident..

I was watching Instinct the other day, And it got me thinking...

How come we live the way we do now?.. Who or what is in control?

Why do we go to school? Why do we go to work?

Who or what set us up to live this way?

Do we live in a Matrix?... an illusion?... But why?

Who or what is the mastermind behind it all?

and no.. I am not crazy,,, I have the rights to think. If you call me crazy for asking such questions, You are ignorant.

Maybe because I hated school as a kid and also hate going to college right now.. but that's life..

I am trying to read the Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly P. Hall and I find it really hard to read..

I read maybe one paragraph and I get really bored and start looking for an audio book version, why is that??

I also hate that I see a lot of words I don't know.... which I do now.. but I know I am gaining knowledge but looking at a dictionary every minute gets boring real quick.

Okay so I live in the United States and my life is really boring..

I have no friends and I am single. I live in a ghost town that looks like it would be a perfect setting for a horror movie.

What am I doing here? its just that I enjoy the country side more than the city side.. I love nature.

But every day I wake up and go to work and then come home to eat and sleep. That's all I do.

Isn't there more to life? What is wrong with me ? How can I enjoy my life better ?

What kinds of jobs are out there.. where I can make enough money to pay bills but also spend most of my time having fun??

I used to have friends but most of them weren't real friends. And I tried having friends with similar taste in College but no luck.

I don't plan on having a wife as my life is too much to worry about already and adding kids to my life would be terrible,

I have tried a bunch of times to find a website or program (other than keyhole) to watch Live Japanese Tv Channels...

Why is it so hard to find them... I mean you can watch American tv online like Cartoon network, hbo starz...etc but when it comes to a foreign country is hard to find some? why?

So basically right now I am a CIS major but now I'm going to change my major since all the computer classes are hard for me. I am not a geek and that's why I am failing :P (no discrimination)

I can only do basic things like connect a phone line, wireless, fix problems with the PC...etc..

but in my major right now..

It all has to deal with database, java and all of those hard stuff which I am not made out for.

I don't understand computer languages but I do love human ones.

Other than computers. I love Languages and what major/degree can I go for where I can study languages? Liberal Arts ?

I don't mind being a translator all my life. I love languages and cultures.

Is there more to life than succeeding academically?

I'm thinking theres a high chance i'm going to fail college.

Is it possible to have a fun-filled, loving, prospecting life without having college or university degrees?

I don't want any kids or a wife because no one understands me and I don't want to be homeless either.

I am happy person but I go to College..

My parents are always bugging me and now my brothers too.. saying that they want me to pass and all that..

I swear, I am not made out for College and they don't understand this...

But yet society/employers expects you to have a piece of paper called a Degree in order to do things you already know how to...

I was thinking of committing suicide...

How can I be carefree ? I want to live life to the fullest and not let my family and college bring me down.
