I'm trying to identify part of a door. Can you help (no pictures, sorry)?
I'm trying to identify a part of a door. I usually see them on doors that are in houses, though I'm sure I've seen one in hotel rooms as well. The piece of hardware goes where the chain usually goes, but is a "latch" or "hinge." However, it is NOT a padlock hinge, and as far as I can tell, it has nothing to do with locking the door in any fashion.
While standing inside the house, the door hinges are on the left side of the frame. On the right side, near the top is this thing. It looks like a door hinge but only attaches the the door frame, and the other part of the "hinge" can be moved independently of the door, and can be pushed to lay flat across the door while it is closed. The only purpose I can imagine it would be for is to let you know if someone entered or left the house, because the door opening would push the hinge outward.
Anyway, I hope I was descriptive enough. Thank you for reading my question.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs5 years agoHow do I reset my Belkin wireless router to factory defaults?
I have a Belkin N Wireless Router, model: F5D8236-4 v1 and I need to reset the security password so I can change the wireless password, or if necessary, so I can reset the factory defaults. I'm running Windows 7 and I no longer have any software that came with the router.
I have the Default Gateway address from cmd, and I type that in to my address bar. No problems. Then, I click Security under Wireless. It says that I need to enter a password. I never have set a password, so I just press enter because the it says the default password is blank. It then says "Incorrect Password".
Like I said, I have never set a password up, and I assume that my roommate added a password for whatever reason. He no longer lives with me, and I have absolutely no way to contact him (disconnected cell phone, he doesn't live where he used to, etc).
Belkin apparently got rid of all of their information regarding their older type routers (I assume this one is 5 or so years old) so I can't find any info on their site.
So anyway, now I can't change the wireless password to keep the freeloaders away, and I can't reset the factory defaults because I need the password for that too.
Please and thank you.
2 AnswersAdd-ons8 years agoWhere can I find a list of all sub-domains for a domain?
I am doing a little digging on a subject for school, and I was just wondering where I could find a list of likely, if not all, possible sub-domains for a site.
One example is mail.domain.com but I need more. Thanks for your help.
1 AnswerProgramming & Design8 years agoWhat are these toys called?
I remember playing with these toys as a child (1998-2000) and I was wondering if anyone knew what they were called and/or how I could buy them.
You would buy the toys, and it would be a package of varying arms, legs and torsos; human, alien, bug, etc., and you would snap them together and create your own action figure. When complete, they would stand maybe 8 inches tall.
An example of what they look like is in Toy Story 2, when Woody falls off the shelf and into a garbage can full of toy parts. Those are broken toys, but they look very similar to the toy I am looking for.
2 AnswersToys8 years agoWhere would I get a Voxel development kit?
My friends and I have joined together to become and indie developer (don't laugh, everyone started somewhere), but we don't know how to find a Voxel development kit. A few examples of Voxel games; Ace of Spades beta, Minecraft, and Infiniminer.
We can't find one anywhere, so if anyone knows where to find one, that would be nice.
(And I don't want an answer like 'Just use Unity;' we would rather not.)

3 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoWhat is the average distance between atoms in space?
Basically, the question is all the detail you need. I am trying to figure out (I know, I'm a nerd) how the M.D. Device would work. If there is a reasonable distance between atoms, then the device should constantly spread and never stop.
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoWhy won't my PS2 turn on?
My PS2 had a little bit of a problem a while back (the disc tray wouldn't open) so I took off the top. This helped, and I got the disk out, but then left the case off. A while later, I was sick of playing inFAMOUS 2, so I tried to turn on my PS2, but the light wouldn't turn on. Now the disk tray is somehow stuck open, and the two front buttons won't do anything. Please help.
2 AnswersPlayStation10 years agoWhat does THIS mean...?
I was reading the inFAMOUS forums, and I noticed that people will say "THIS". That is all they say! What the heck does it mean? I think it has to do with agreeing to someones post, but why do they say "THIS" ? Anyway, if you could help me, that would be great.
