Something is wrong with my keyboard? Some keys are mixed up, some are unresponsive.?
Ex: My " and @ keys are completely swapped. instead of a number sign I see this £. Shift 5 and 6, do not work. Tilde does not work for either shift. Underscore does not work for either shift. I can only capitalize Z, M, N, V, C, <, >, and ? with my right shift key, as the left does not respond. All other keys are fine as far as I can tell.

5 AnswersOther - Hardware6 years agoIs my manager cheating me out of money?
I work in a cafe and make $7.50 an hour. It's my first job at eighteen and I've been there since November. When I started working, I was in college and worked 15 hours a week at the most. But then I took a semester off, and recently started working 35 hours a week.
When I worked only 15 hours I would make $120. If I only worked for a few 4 hour shifts, my check would be in the double digits, which I didn't mind. And since I've now doubled my hours, I expected doubled pay. This week I worked 31 hours, and got paid only $194.
I did my math, and right now I'm making right around what I'd make if I worked for $6 \ an hour. I considered taxes, but it still doesn't make much sense. I've also considered deductions that they might've made based on performance. But I work hard. I only use my phone when there's no customers and nothing to clean or work on. I thought that maybe it's because I sometimes go to the back and steal a chip. I don't know if this is valid.
Also, tips. As far as tips go, I'm only allowed to keep the ones directly handed to me. If they go in the tip jar, supposedly they get split evenly amongst the staff. But I've never noticed a change compared to weeks where we got a lot. Apparently they're used instead to buy new aprons.
Can someone give me advice? It's been suggested that I go talk to the manager, but I don't like confrontation. I just got on his good side too. It's almost like I'm being tested.
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment7 years agoJust had tonsillectomy. Surgeon said my tonsil had been full of pus?
I had my tonsils removed yesterday. I later learned in detail that when my doctor cut into my right tonsil, it drained a lot of pus, and that both tonsils generally just fell apart as he worked on them. Prior to surgery, I didn't remember seeing any pus pockets, nor did I know they were so brittle. I'd had chronic tonsillitis and a few episodes of strep. Can someone explain what happened to the tissue?
1 AnswerOther - Health7 years agoWhat is this patch of green skin on my face?
I had a cystic pimple on my cheek, and normally when I get these, I leave a dab of toothpaste on overnight and it dries it out, reducing swelling and speeding up the healing process. I hear that for some, this works, and others it makes the problem worse. Well it's always worked for me.
So I left the toothpaste on, it burned significantly because of the mint properties, and this morning when I washed it off I found it was way more tender than it usually is. The pimple had shrunk, but the skin around it is tinted green. At first I thought this was an infection and tried poking it with a sharp tool to see if it would drain. But nothing came out, it's quite literally just dead skin, but it burns pretty badly.
So what is this? What happened? And how should I treat it?
1 AnswerSkin Conditions8 years agoCan I have a dentist put caps on my two front teeth?
I have dental fluorosis on my two front teeth that, while not too noticeable, worsens when I sleep without a mouthpiece (for some reason). It's extremely annoying and destroys my self confidence. I was wondering if I went to the dentist, could I request that he put caps on my two front teeth? My mother said that in order to do this he would have to file them down, but I imagine you can just place them over the tooth. Is this a bad idea? I really don't want to opt for veneers, as it's just those two teeth that are a problem. Advice?
2 AnswersDental8 years agoDoes the inside of my mouth LOOK infected?
I just asked a question about my tonsils, now here's the best picture I can get of the inside of my mouth.
You can faintly see the white spots on my tonsil, but there's much more and they're brighter in person. There's also visible red dots at the back of my throat. Does it look red overall? What's going on?
sorry if the picture is sort of disgusting.
3 AnswersInfectious Diseases8 years agoHow come my tonsils keep getting infected?
For the past year my tonsils keep getting infected with both viral and bacterial infections. I got strep for the first time in my life back in March, and was prescribed medicine. There was nothing wrong with my tonsils, I just had a severely red throat and body aches. But then after I recovered I've still had numerous problems with my tonsils. Notably a few weeks ago I noticed tiny white spots on one tonsil, and went to the doctor to check for strep. Apparently it was just a viral infection. Fast forward to now, my throat has been slightly sore and I assumed it was allergies. But when I observed the inside of my mouth with a flashlight I noticed the other tonsil is now inflamed and has bulbous pus pockets.
Luckily I have some antibiotics to hold me over, but can anyone explain why this keeps happening?
3 AnswersInfectious Diseases8 years agoWhy do I feel intense ear pressure when experiencing sleep paralysis?
Every time I fall into sleep paralysis, I feel this pressure in my ears. It's sort of like pressing a cup to your ear and cutting off air circulation; a very tight feeling like your eardrums are going to burst. It's not horribly painful, just uncomfortable. I deal with sleep paralysis quite frequently, and the deeper into it I go, the heavier the pressure is.
A lot of people who deal with paralysis say that it's best to just ignore it and wait for your body to enter REM sleep naturally, but it's impossible for me with the ear situation.
Can anyone explain why this happens? And is it my imagination? It feels incredibly real, like there's an actual weight pressing against my eardrums. Relief is usually instantaneous since I've mastered waking myself up, but is there a way I can avoid it altogether?
3 AnswersDream Interpretation8 years agoSeriously, why won't my tampons go in.?
I've had my period for five years. I don't have a hymen. I'm not a virgin. I never have complications until my period starts. My house is out of pads, there's no women here to make a store run for me, and I can't go because I'm bleeding profusely. I have gone through four tampons, tried different angles, tried the leg on the toilet seat thing, tried using a mirror, and I cannot get it in. I know it's in the right place but it always stops a quarter of the way in. Not even force helps anything. I've gotten so frustrated that i've started to cry. What do I do, this is ridiculous.
3 AnswersWomen's Health8 years agoAre my eyes brown or hazel?
On my ID it says my eyes are light brown. But I always thought they changed color under certain light, particularly sunlight. And if they're hazel, are they hazel brown? Hazel green? I'm not sure what to call them and all my friends think I'm making this whole thing up.

1 AnswerOther - Beauty & Style8 years agoI fell on my ankle and it cracked?
Yesterday I tripped and bent my ankle at a near 90 degree ankle. It made a large cracking noise and I was in immense pain for about five minutes.. I even assumed it was broken. But after that the pain subsided and I walked away with a limp. I rested it on a pillow while I slept and woke up unable to move it at all. Even gravity causes it to ache. The side is slightly swollen, and certain parts become sore when pressed against. I'm able to put enough weight on it to walk. So...what happened to it? Should I get it looked at?
3 AnswersInjuries8 years agoMy dog keeps demanding attention...should I discipline her?
I have a five year old Yorkshire Terrier who thought, all of a sudden, that she rules the house, needs constant affection and for us to always give in to her wants.
If my door is shut, she'll scratch at it and refuse to stop until let her inside. I occasionally open the door and shoo her away, but she'll wait a few minutes and do it again.
If she wants to get on a bed, she'll cry, and sometimes bark, until someone picks her up, jumping around and trying to paw at said person.
Sometimes I'll be sitting, minding my own business, and she'll suddenly run up and get into my face. Not licking, or nuzzling, but rather ducking her head like she wants me to pet it.
She's always hungry. We try not to overfeed her. But she'll squeal and claw at the pantry door until someone gives her a treat or at least tells her to stop. Though the latter usually works temporarily until she's at it again.
I've tried ignoring her demands but she doesn't seem to get the message and it's only getting worse. Should I discipline her? And if so, how?
4 AnswersDogs8 years agoDo I have a decent singing voice?
I don't exactly think I'm tone-deaf, but I've always had crippling stage fright that affects me even when I record myself because I begin judging myself heavily. So if you could give me critique, that'd be fantastic.
It's very short
2 AnswersSinging8 years agoIs Art or English the better major?
So I'm graduating from high school in a few weeks, and will be enrolling in college after summer's passed. As far as majors go, I know for a fact that I want to have a job that involves creativity, personality, emotion, and imagination. These things, I find, I can evoke the best in writing and in sketching. It's what I would prefer to do for the rest of my life.
I've been writing as a hobby for much longer. I have stories on the internet that garner views of nearly 40,000 from the past two years, so I'd like to think I'm better at it, with my strongest point pertaining to my ability to write dialogue and organize plot points and ideas. But I have much more patience for drawing. I mess up quite frequently, but I never feel neglected to the point of giving it up entirely, like I have with writing. I find that it's more fun for me, even if I'm not very skilled, and I do it MUCH more often. To the point that it's almost daily, whereas writing is more weekly. The best I can do is shade, with both pencil and map pencil. People in real life ask if my drawings were something I've printed, just to give a visual idea. They seem genuinely impressed.
I'm under the impression that it's easier to find a job related to writing, as it doesn't have to be freelance. You could work under someone and write articles, or work as a screenwriter or something along those lines. And while artists tend to be more independent and be their own bosses, that can have its pros, but also its cons. You have a lesser chance at being successful, as far as I know. Not to mention with how bad the economy's been, it seems the last thing on people's mind is appreciating a lovely work of art. I wish there was some way I could change that.
I know I should do the obvious 'follow my heart' thing. But I am very much torn down the middle, and can't decide. I don't want to major in something that will grant me more money, just whatever will make me happier. While writing is more tedious and black and white, it might be more reliable, and I still enjoy it very much, and I'm known in the family for my 'way with words'. It's not easy to be happy if you're constantly struggling.
Tips? Anyone with experience?
1 AnswerOther - Arts & Humanities8 years agoShould I feed my dog or not?
Recently, my dog got very sick and was vomiting and had diarrhea. We took her to the vet, and it turned out she had a bacterial infection that caused little rips and internal bleeding in her stomach, and if not treated properly, it could very well kill her. She is also a few pounds overweight (our fault for feeding her too often) and they told us to feed her only prescribed food, and to do it in small amounts, 2-3 times a day.
My dog keeps running and jumping on me because she wants food. I put her on my bed so she could lay down, and she went and stole a little chunk of bread off a plate next to me, which she has NEVER done. She's licking the floor, chewing her paws. I feel like she feels starved, but we've already fed her. Should I give her something? Is this normal?
