  • Was FDR an "activist" but still a "conservative" fiscal president?

Of course, everyone will agree with the "activist" label. However, the two labels are often linked together too quickly. Activist clearly means quick to intervene, which FDR was. A fiscal conservative has the tendency to lean towards balancing the budget, which FDR did.

In 1933, when FDR took office, the Debt/GDP ratio was 22.38. After his second term, in 1941, the Debt/GDP ratio was 19.22.

  • What does "time wounds all heels" mean?

John Lennon said it when asked what his response was to the people who had been trying to deport him for 4+ years. I have been thinking about it, but honestly cannot think of what it means. Thank you.

  • Do Evangelicals include Deuteronomy in their version of the Bible?

It's obviously a pretty basic question, but I could not find an answer for it. I did my research and found that Martin Luther and the Protestants essentially took out 7 books of the Old Testament--the Apocrypha--but am uncertain if this is still the case today. I know multiple Evangelicals, but have never asked them this specific question.

    Thanks!

  • CLARIFICATION: Were my rights violated by the University of Notre Dame police?

Before, I failed to address why my friend and I were brought to the police station. A policeman saw us smoking marijuana and we willingly came down to the police station with him. He informed us that we were not under arrest, and thus my questioning of whether or not my rights are violated.

    1. The police told us we needed to produce, write, and sign statements. I have heard that I did not have to sign a statement of what happened, but the police told us we were required to. Is this a violation?

    2. The police told us we were not under arrest. We willingly helped them out with whatever they needed. A policeman then told us he was going to escort us in his car back to our dorm. I asked if we were could walk back to our dorm, because we were not under arrest (believing that was my right as a citizen not under arrest). The police officer looked at me grudgingly and said that we were not allowed to and drove us back. Does this violate my rights as well?

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Were my rights violated by the University of Notre Dame Security Police?

For a fair reason, my friend and I were brought to the NDSP police station. We are wondering if our rights were violated in these cases at the station:

I asked if we were allowed to walk, because we were not under arrest. The police officer looked at me grudgingly and said that we were not allowed to and drove us back. Does this violate my rights as an American citizen as well?

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Do representatives have to be from or reside in the county they represent?

Both on the Federal and State level, I am curious, and could not find anything about this on the Internet. My leanings are to say that they don't have to reside there, but most of them do because it helps their campaigning.

    Thanks

  • Does America have too many foreign bases?

Should we take away some of these foreign bases to save money back home for our stimulus bill, etc.?

For example, we have 11 bases in Germany.

  • What are some catchy slogans for a political forum?

We're expanding our online political forum and are now creating t-shirts to raise money for advertising. It's a completely non-partisan board with members from all across the political spectrum. We just discuss anything related to politics all the time. Any good ideas? It should be short enough to fit on a t-shirt.

    Thanks!!

  • What are some fun poems to imitate?

My AP English teacher assigned us a project to imitate 10 poems, and I've already done two but really am having trouble thinking of good ones to imitate. Can you think of any that would be good to imitate?

    Thanks!

  • What to name my blog on healthcare?

No partisan responses please--just an interesting title.

I'll keep asking this question until I get a good one--I've only got one good response.

Try to make a play on words or just make the name clever.
