  • Does this sound like PUPPS?

Hey ladies! okay, I am 39 weeks along and have developed this maddeningly itchy rash on my belly around and below my belly button. It's raised little bumps and doesn't look very red or anything but is the most itchy thing I have ever experienced. It also sort of feels a bit prickly if that makes sense. I haven't been exposed to any sort of new irritant or anything and it does not quite resemble or feel like heat rash, so I am at a loss on how to treat it. I'm being induced (for medical reasons) on Tuesday, so I don't have that much longer to go, but if anyone has experienced this please give me some advice on how to stop the itching and what this is! Even benadryl does not work. I really don't want to call my OB on a Sunday night about a simple rash, so any ideas would be helpful. Thank you!

  • How long were you in the hospital?

Hey mommas! I was just wondering how long your hospital stay was after you had a vaginal delivery. The hospital I am using has you stay 24-48 hours depending on what your doctor wants you to do. I was just curious how long it was for most of you. Thanks :]

  • Hair loss after delivery?

Okay this is a repost because my question never showed up, (what's up with that anyways!?) So, sorry if for some reason you saw this before/responded or if it shows up twice!

Hey there! I know that after I have the baby that I will start losing the hair I've been retaining while pregnant. I was wondering how soon that happens and if it all comes out really quickly or if it is a gradual process, etc. I was wanting to get my hair cut in this cute short, choppy style that requires little blow drying/styling to make things easier after the baby gets here. but, I didn't know if that would be bad, like if I am going to end up with bald patches or something that I should keep my hair a bit longer to cover. Any input would be helpful as I'm going on Tuesday to get a cut.

I don't want to be flabby, tired, AND balding with a bad haircut...lol. :]

  • Dumbest thing you've done with "pregnancy brain"?

So ladies, what's the dumbest/silliest thing you have done with your pregnancy induced absent-mindedness? I just got back from the grocery store where I proceeded to pick out about $150 worth of groceries and go through the checkout. But guess what I forgot? MONEY! Brilliant! So I had to come home, get my wallet and go back to the store feeling like a total moron!

I sure hope this goes away after I have this baby, but I've heard sometimes it does not. So far in the pregnancy I have also put ice cream in the pantry, forgotten to lock doors, left windows down in the rain, etc. What have you done?

  • Water breaking question?

Hey there! For those of you who have had your water break on its own I was just curious about something. Did you feel like it was going to break right before it did, and if so what did that feel like? And when it broke did you immediately know what was going on or did you think you were peeing your pants? Was it tons of fluid all at once or a trickle? I have polyhydramnios which is excess fluid and I've been told it's like a mini-flood when you have that condition which makes me want to stick around home while I'm full term. i don't want that happening at the grocery store! I'm just curious as to how it went for you. Thanks :]

  • Something I'm feeling at 37 weeks?

Hey mommas! This is sort of an embarrassing question, but I'm just wondering if what I'm feeling is pretty normal. I feel like my baby has moved into a different position and it's a bit uncomfortable. Today I am having lots of pains in my tail bone, pressure in my vagina, and the best way I can explain it is that I feel like I am now carrying around this baby in my butt...lol. This is quite uncomfortable because I fractured my tail bone a few years back and it's pretty terrible pain at this point. Sorry if that is TMI or sounds strange. I was just wondering if you think that is the baby's head engaging or something else. Thanks, I'm a first time mom and don't really know what to expect feeling-wise as I come to the end of this pregnancy. :]

  • How long after delivery did it take?

How long after you delivered your child did you start to lose your pregnancy symptoms. I know the hormones do not all immediately leave your system. I was just wondering how long it took for things like sensitivity to smell, rhinitis, nausea, swelling of feet, etc. to diminish. Was it pretty quick or did some things linger? Thanks for your answers. :]

  • How often do you feel your baby hiccuping?

Hey mommas! I was just wondering how often you feel your little one hiccuping in the womb. I'm 36 weeks and feel her have the hiccups at least once a day, sometimes twice. Now, most things I have read say this is normal and that it is a sign that the central nervous system is developed. But, last night I was reading What to Expect When You're Expecting, aka Pregnancy: Lots of Good Facts and Then a Crapload of Things That Will Make You Paranoid and Scared, that if your baby hiccups 2+ times a day for more than 10 minutes it could be a sign of a "knotted" umbilical cord. I'm going to ask my OB at my next appointment of course but I was just looking to see how often it happens to you guys. Thanks a lot :]

  • Membrane stripping question?

Hi ladies! I see a lot of talk on here of people getting their membranes stripped by their doctors when they are full term to help move things along quicker. I'm just curious as to what that procedure actually entails and what they are stripping exactly. Could someone please enlighten me?

    Thanks a lot! :]

  • 3D Ultrasound pics...just for fun! :]?

This isn't a question so if that's going to annoy you, you might want to close this now...lol.

Hi everyone! I just got back from getting a 3d ultrasound done and got some amazing pictures of our little girl! I highly recommend going and getting one, it is definitely worth the price. I just love looking at these pictures! Anyways, I'll put a link to the ones I just got done so that those of you contemplating whether to do one or not can see how much amazing detail there is.

I'd love to see yours as well!

  • Can I wear a bra during delivery?

Okay, this is a really silly thing to worry about and it will probably be the last thing on my mind while actually being in labor, but can I wear a bra, or a sports bra while I'm in labor at the hospital? I do plan on getting an epidural if that makes a difference. The reason I ask is that my boobs are just absolutely huge. I'm at a 36H right now and it's very uncomfortable for me not to wear one, plus they would be in my way!

Thanks to anyone who knows the answer. If you don't I'll just ask my doctor. :]

  • Frequent Braxton Hicks?

Hey everyone! I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant and over the past couple of days have been experiencing TONS of BH contractions. My baby "dropped" a few days ago and ever since I have been having these anywhere from every 5 minutes to as far apart as 20 minutes pretty constantly. It's not painful or anything, it just feels like a tightening and an increase in pressure, and I haven't had any signs of labor coming soon, so I was just wondering if this was pretty typical or what. I didn't know if maybe I was doing something wrong, overdoing it, or if I should call my doctor or just ignore it. Thanks a lot. :]

  • Childbirth Education Classes?

Hi everyone! I have a question about birthing classes. My husband and I were planning on taking them but I am 32 weeks now and am having a difficult time finding a class that is not full that will work with our schedules (we work fairly opposite hours right now, and I work weekends as well trying to save up as much extra money as we can). I plan on having an epidural for pain relief. I was wondering what you guys thought about the classes. I was thinking maybe I could watch videos/read some books about it instead, and also talk to the women in my life who have been through the experience. At this point I was thinking it might be more beneficial for me to put the time into newborn care/breastfeeding classes instead since it's becoming difficult to be able to do both. I'd just like to hear what you guys think about it, if you've taken the classes, plan to, or not. Also if you have any suggestions about some videos or books to look into that would be fantastic.

I appreciate your help! Thanks a lot.

  • Lightening at 32 weeks?

Hi everyone. I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant and it appears as though overnight my baby has dropped. She is visibly a lot lower, I went into work and everyone remarked on how she looks like she dropped, and I am having a lot of pressure in my pelvic area and no longer feeling her up high in my ribs. I'm concerned that this is really early. I was wondering if anyone else dropped around this time and went full term. Thanks a lot, this is my first baby and I'm not sure if this is early or not.

  • Back support/ pain relief?

Okay I am 31 weeks pregnant right now and my mid-back is killing me. My belly is pretty big and my boobs are huge now. They went from a 34D to a 34H! And I am a fairly petite person so this is starting to be really rough. Now the baby is up in my ribs and all the pressure is causing a lot of pain. I've been seeing a chiropractor, getting massages, taking warm baths, doing yoga, etc. I was wondering if anyone has tried some sort of brace or something for their back while pregnant or if something like that even exists. I feel like my muscles just can't keep up right now. Sorry for whining, but I don't know what else to try. Thank you guys for your input. :]

  • Scoliosis & Epidurals?

I am 30 weeks pregnant and have mild scoliosis in my back. I was planning on getting an epidural if possible. Today, the hospital called me to ask me to meet with an anesthesiologist for a consultation regarding whether or not they will be able to do an epidural for me. Now, I'm betting this is probably just a precautionary measure but it worries me a little bit. I was really hoping to be able to minimize my discomfort during labor. Does anyone have any experience with this? I've done some online research but am looking for personal stories/opinions. Thank you in advance. :]

  • Any ideas for middle names?

My husband and I have picked out the name Amora (Mora for short) for our baby girl due in April. So far our families don't really like the name, which is annoying, but we love it so we are sticking with it. We are having trouble with the middle name though, everything sounds like a mouthful! My husband loved Amora Lillith, which I like, but it is sort of hard to say.

Thanks so much for your input! :)

  • Nausea that came back?

I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and in the beginning of pregnancy had severe morning sickness. It eventually went away which was fantastic. Recently though, it has come back with a vengeance. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this, if it was normal, or a cause for concern. Thanks for your replies!
