help with hair colour!?
I am naturally a dark blonde. I have had my hair coloured at the salon for the past 10 years or so to a golden blonde. I can no longer afford it so I've been doing it at home but its a little more difficult than I thought. I was buying medium blondes because I was scared to go too light but wasn't liking how "dark" it was so I bought a light blonde. The problem I have is trying to get my roots the same colour as the rest of my hair. So I put the colour on my roots first and then pulled it through and it turned out much lighter than I thought but a couple shades darker on top. Can I fix this? Suggestions? Head and shoulders? V8 hot oil? Will that help strip the colour? Re-colour it a darker shade? Going to the salon to get it fixed is not an option. It doesn't look horrible, I just don't really like it. Please only serious answers from people who have experience with this.

4 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoFinger food ideas for 10 months old!?
My 10 month old daughter only wants to feed herself, which is fine with me but I am running out of ideas of what to give her everyday. She eats whole wheat toast with butter, cheese (or grilled cheese), pasta with purred carrot and chicken and little bit of tomotoe sauce, cheerios, cooked carrots, peas, beans, peppers. The only fruit she will eat is blueberries and that is on a good day. She'll let me feed her yogurt. She won't really eat pieces of chicken or ground beef. She won't eat eggs. Perhaps I need some new ideas on how to prepare it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
6 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHow can I hang a mirror on top of another mirror?
Is spray adhesive clear? How strong is it?
We have a mirror in our bathroom that was attached using something that leaked through and we have a big "x" stain basically in our mirror (from the previous owners). There is tile all around the mirror and we would like to just put a new mirror on top of the old yucky "x" stained mirror and we are wondering how we can attach it? Thanks!!

1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade ago5 month old schedule?
If you have a 5 month old (or a baby around that age) what is your baby's eating and sleeping schedule like. I know some people don't like to put a baby on a schedule but I find my daughter does well on one. I just wanted to compare to other moms. Thanks!!
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoCan I cook pasta ahead of time and then keep it warm in a crock pot for several hours?
We are going to a big family get together on the 26th. There are over 60 people in my husband's family and we do potluck. We wanted to make vodka penne but we are wondering how to keep it warm. We have to drive over an hour to get there and we won't be eating as soon as we get there. We can't really re-heat it in the oven because they will be cooking a roast in the oven and so many other people will probably have to heat things up in the oven. So I thought we could make it at our house then put it in crock pot and then plug the crock pot in when we get there. Will that work?? Will the pasta get mushy? Any other suggestions? THANKS!!!
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade ago4 month old baby suddenly waking up every 2 hours at night... help!!!?
My baby girl was sleeping 9-10 hours every night since about six weeks but the past couple of weeks she has been waking up so much. Many times a night, sometimes every 2 hours. Whats going on? What can I do? I am exhasted!
I know how lucky I have been with her sleeping and I don't mind at all getting up once or twice but every 2 hours is making me so sleep deprived and cranky. :(
9 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoSleep, eat, play schedule for a 3-4 month old.?
Hi moms and dads!
I am looking for a sample schedule of when your baby gets up, what time they eat at, when play time is, when nap times are and what time they go to bed.
My 3 1/2 month old is on a pretty good eating schedule and she is a pretty good sleeper at night, sleeps through the night (9-10) hours MOST nights but I can not get her to nap very good. She has little cat naps (20-30 mins) several times a day and only if I hold her or lay beside her on the couch or in the car or stroller. If she falls asleep in my arms and I try to transfer her to her crib or pack and play she wakes up and cries and cries. Also, I am wondering if we are putting her to bed too late, bath at 8:30, bottle and in bed by 9:30.
Sample schedules that work for you are MUCH appreciated!!

6 AnswersFishing1 decade agoDo I have to fry chicken parmesan before I bake it?
I have my chicken breaded and ready to go for supper, I usually fry it and then pop it into the oven and bake it for about 20 mins and then add cheese and sauce.
Do I have to fry it first or can I JUST bake it? If so, for how long?
7 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoActivities to do with a 3 or 4 month old?
My baby is almost 3 months old and I am just wondering what kinds of things other moms and dads do with their babies around this age? Sometimes she is content for a while other times she gets bored so easily.
Right now she plays on her activity mat and grabs at the the dangling toys. I read to her, but she has to be in the mood to sit still, she does tummy time but HATES it, I sing to her. It just seems like she doesn't want to sit still and she is trying to go somewhere!
Any and all suggestions are welcome!! Thanks.
6 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoa question about duct cleaning (ontario)?
I had 2 cats that we just got rid of because we have a newborn baby. My parents think we should get our ducts cleaned now that the cats are gone.
Does anyone know approx how much it costs? What does it really do?
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat is your sleeping/eating schedule like with a one month old?
I know you can't really have a schedule with a baby that young. I am breast feeding on demand except at night, I try to feed her around 9:30-10:30 and then put her to bed and I go to bed. Is this too late to be putting her to bed? What time do you bath baby at? We've been bathing her around 7 but does it make more sense to do it later, around 9, then feed her and put her to bed? First time mom, can you tell!??! :)
2 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoDoes anyone use Playtex VentAire Advanced bottles?
If so, how do you warm up the bottle?? Stupid question I know but the instructions say to remove cap before warming in container. I am assuming they mean the cap at the bottom where the vents are. Right now I am making the formula and warming it up in a separate bottle and then pouring it into this playtex bottle but that is obviously twice as many bottles to wash!
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agomy MIL keeps saying my baby has a "blue lip", what the heck is she talking about?
Everytime my mother in law visits she says it looks like my baby has a blue lip and needs to burp. I don't need this blue lip she talks about?? And she'll spend the whole time she is with my daughter trying to burp her.
Anyone know what this blue lip thing is all about??
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoParents- has anyone had any luck with Dunstan baby language?
I've read up on decoding baby's cries but I still can't seem to figure her out sometimes :( Has anyone else tried this and had any luck?
I know when she is hungry (the neh sound, not to mention the sucking and what not) and I think I know when she needs burped (the eh sound although 1/2 the time I can't get her to burp.) But a lot of times her cries just sound like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH screams to me and I don't know what she wants!!!!
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoa question for moms- does it get easier?
I am a first time mom to a 3 week old. I am feeling overwhelmed with this new life. I feel like all I do is breast feed, change diapers and "try" to get her to sleep. I don't feel like I have time to eat or shower or get anything done around the house. I get anxious when I try to go out with her because she will cry and want to eat, or need her diaper changed even if we're just out for an hour.
Does it get easier? Will she ever eat less often and need her diaper changed less? Will she sleep if I am not holding her?
Another question- when did you put your baby in the crib? Right now she sleeps in pack and play in our room, but she grunts and strains all night and I really can't get any sleep!
Thanks in advance moms for any advice or encouraging words!
22 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHelp with spitting up breast fed baby?
My 2 1/2 week old daughter seems to be spitting up quite a bit the past week or so. She is breast fed so I am confused because I thought only formula fed babies spit up. I do give her a bottle of expressed milk from time to time but she spits up right after eating from the breast or sometimes an hour after eating.
She is also grunting and straining a lot and acts gassy. We give her gripe water which seems to help.
I just didn't think I would have these sort of problems when breastfeeding.
Any advice??
