How do you differentiate athlete s heart from an anorexic s heart when it comes to bradycardia?
Most people with restrictive eating disorders are eventually hospitalized for low heart rates (bradycardia). But these same people often engage in extensive exercise regimes. How do you differentiate benign, athletic bradycardia from the slowing of a starved heart, and why is one considered a competitive asset while the other merits hospitalization when both are just compensatory mechanisms? I anticipate people saying that an anorexic s bradycardia would be paired with a severely underweight patient and therefore immediately obvious, but I m talking about the difference in the two hearts respective functioning.

1 AnswerBiology5 years agoDid the First Nations people of the plains geld* their horses?
*to geld is to castrate. Stallions are very difficult to handle and, if there are mares around, will fight to the death. I was wondering how the plains First Nations people handled this, especially in the decades after first being introduced to the horse, or "Great Dog" as they called it.
4 AnswersHorses5 years agoCan my parents force me to follow up on a medical referral?
I am a minor who was diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa. I spent five months as an inpatient and underwent therapy and weight restoration. I have been discharged and referred to a local doctor for weekly check ups on my weight and vitals.
I want to know if my mother can force me to follow up on this referral. I've wasted too many hours of my life on this illness. I want to be free of the whole thing completely.
6 AnswersMental Health5 years agoWhy won't he lift one leg?
There's this horse I ride who is pretty quirky. Anyway, recently he's developed an issue with lifting his front right hoof. He's fine with the others, just not this one. When you try to pick it up, he crosses it away from you.
I'm curious as to whether this is a physical issue or a behavioral problem.
He is completely sound, no sign of lameness. If it was a physical issue, what kind of condition could cause him to not want to lift one leg?

3 AnswersWords & Wordplay6 years agoWhich laptop is best for me?
I'm going into highschool and my mom needs full use of our current laptop, so we're going to buy a new one for me. I'd like something hardy and small. I'd mainly use it for my writing, watching netflix, doing projects, and surfing the web. It needs to be small and under $600. We currently have a Toshiba and I like it quite a bit. A DVD player is a bonus, and I'd like it to be 13-14 inches. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I worked really hard on this beautiful honey cake, but halfway through baking it started to overflow. I turned off the oven momentarily to clean up the mess, but forgot to turn it back on! Now the cake is sunken and awful and I don't know what to do... it's a tall 9x5 inch cake.
