We were discussing rite of passage rituals within different cultures this evening and the question was asked if the one depicted in "Brother Bear" for the native young men coming of age was the same as or similar to any know rituals. The house we've been staying at in Florida seems to have all kinds of creepy crawlies, from various spiders to cockroaches. I'd hate to take them home with me in my luggage. We don't have a problem with dangerous spiders or cockroaches where I live and I'd like to keep it that way. We were thinking of leaving our luggage in the car overnight to freeze when we get home. Other then moral beleves why should we perserve the massive expanses of north alaska tundra such as lake clark? Please give me your thoughts I'm writeing a large paper on it and could use all the advice and refrences I can get.

We are from Alaska and are currently visiting in West Texas(dry climate). We have been here 7 days, and for the past 4 days, my 15 year old has been having at least one nose bleed per day. I know that it's probably just due to the climate change, but wonder if and when I should start worrying and take him to a doctor. At first the nose bleeds were light and the blood was bright red, they are now there's quite a bit more blood and today it was very dark red. Does that mean anything? Is there anything I can do for him at home that will make them ease up or at least make him more comfortable. He's getting quite woozy and we have a week left here in Texas, any help would be much appreciated.

My great uncle has suffered a massive heart-attack. The prognosis is not good and the medical staff are asking questions about life support and a living will. So far, we are unable to find a living will. Can anyone tell me, for the state of Texas, who the responsibility would fall on to make life support decisions; His niece, who lives two blocks from him and is currently by his side, or his sister (tecnically his closest living relative) who lives thousands of miles away and is not nearly as "close" to him in the emotional sense either? Is there any consideration for proximity?

We did a pet survey for my Girl Scout troop and to my surprise, several of the girls in my troop said that they don't give their dogs rawhide chews because they were dangerous or bad for them. None of them knew why though. So now I'm very curious, esp. because I do give them to my dog occasionally.

I have a school project to write a program where clicking on option buttons displayes a diffrent picture in a picture box useing suplyed immages from the Visule Basic download. So when i get to the point where i pout my first picture in a box (im useing stacked picture boxes and if u know a better way please let me know!) the picture that was provided is very small i cant seem to change it size i even tried takeing it to paint and changeing it it. just dosent look right!

My daughters want to open up a small shop at our house. They plan to sell things they bought in bulk, as well as things they've made and some left overs from my mother's shop that she closed a couple of years ago.

They want to advertise for their shop in the neighborhood and at the nearby school.

My husband has just been offered a job with which he will be gone for two weeks, then home for two weeks. We are trying to weigh the pro's and cons, but don't know many people who have lived this way. Our children are all early teens, so as far as my work load it is much more manageable than if they were still little. I'm just wondering if any one has any helpfull insights as to the effect of such a situation on families.

In theory my husband will be a happier person, doing work he enjoys and having more time with the kids during the two weeks home (his current job has him so tired on evening and weekends that there isn't much quality time going on).

Hey this is realy stupid but i'm writing a program in wich the user types into a textbox and i want the correct answere to oppen on a form and anything that is not correct open another form please help.

This is a new behavior, not one left over from early puppy-hood. The past 6 months have been aweful and now we are considering finding a new home for her because of it.
