  • Is this a scam? (Serious Question!)?

I was on a forum site, and came across a post that mentioned a company, WWYS (We Want Your Soul). I looked them up and found their site:

    http://marineparade.net/wewantyoursoul/

So I was a little scared, but still figured it all must be a scam. So I looked further into it and found this site:

    http://www.cafemom.com/journals/read/1111403/We_Wa...

Apparently some people were actually approached and asked if they wanted to sell their souls! I'm definitely one to fall for internet scams, but please, does anyone has some proof or even can make a good argument that it's all fake? I'm honestly really scared, but I don't want to be overreacting over nothing.

  • Survey: What is your most irrational fear?

My most irrational fear is that I am very afraid of walking down hallways without bright light. I actually have to double back so many times just to make sure there's light. For example, we have an L shaped hallway, with the light switch in the middle, my room on one end, and the washroom on the other end. So while I'm getting ready for bed, I have to leave the washroom light on and the door wide open, walk to the middle light switch, the back to shut the bathroom light off. Then to my room, switch on my lamp, leave that door wide open, back to shut the hall light off, then I go back to my room. And I just can't seem to make myself go down it with the light off without jumping every time my fingers brush the wall (it's pretty narrow). I've tried putting a night light in the middle of it, but it's just not bright enough to make me comfortable. And I live in a place with lots of catwalks and alleyways. I'd never make it through them at night without my cell phone flashlight app. Thankfully it's really bright. So now that I've bared my soul, what's your most irrational fear?

I've heard this name before, something about a grinning man and a moth man. Can someone really explain who is and how these three individuals are related?

  • I wrote this in under 10 minutes, how does it sound?

I wrote this in under 10 minutes for a little speed-writing competition between friends. Honestly, how do you think it sounds? Thanks! (I posted this question before, but I just wanted some more feedback on it)

I awoke, bewildered and groggy to it hovering in front of me, its lips grazing my jawbone... I shivered so strongly my teeth chattered, I would later find out it was because I had been laying in a cold puddle. It stiffened at my movements and pulled back only enough for me to take in every detail of its demonic face. In little more than a second, I had every feature stored deep in my memory, the familiar fangs, pale face, and limp hair I had seen in so many horror movies. It was undeniably a vampire... But it wasn't this thought that made my blood run cold... It was the way it tensed its facial muscles, and slightly curled its lip, and how its eye twitched quickly and methodically, resembling the way a cat whips its tail before it pounces... The smell of the rotting blood that already coated the creature's fangs threatened to pull me back into the darkness I had been in before awaking to this nightmare. It seemed to smell my fear... A hint of a smirk crept onto its face, but it was so subtle, I suppose I could have just imagined it.... It pulled my neck closer towards it and wasted no time in sinking it fangs deep into soft flesh. I expected it to be as I had read in those vampire romance novels I had loved, a brief pain fading into a pleasurably warm sensation.. But of course that didn't happen. The pain was so intense, it felt as though boiling hot acid had been poured into my neck. My mind couldn't form a single thought, all I could do was scream, physically and mentally. The screamed seemed to echo through every ounce of my being. After what felt like hours of the excruciating pain, but what was truly less than 3 minutes, my throat was hoarse from my helpless screams and it dropped me back into the puddle. It was gone in an instant, never to be seen again... I felt my neck trying to size up the damage but my hand only met empty space... I groped again this time until I felt the blood soaked skin... But it was tough and stringy, and seemed to be pulsing under my fingers. I looked down, hoping to see my reflection, but instead I saw something that chilled me to the core... A chunk of flesh about the size of my fist.. My mind was numb, but all in a moment it hit me. That was my neck, well at least a piece of it. That damn beast had ripped a piece of my neck out!! I'd kill it, I swear I would!!... Hunt it down to the ends of the Earth and make it pay... But with each though, I grew weaker... The pain hit me all over again like a merciless truck... No, I'd never find it, never get my revenge... What good is revenge to a dead person? No, how silly I'd been. How could I think of revenge?... Maybe it was just hungry... Maybe I just imagined the evil menace in it's eyes... Yes, that's it... Maybe it really loved me... So much it just couldn't help itself... Of course... How could I have thought otherwise.......

  • How does my essay on Coke/Pepsi sound?

I just wanted your honest opinions on it. I'm in grade 11, and am supposed to write an essay comparing the benefits of investing in two companies

    Coke or Pepsi??

In past decades, the question “Coke or Pepsi?” has raged on in television commercials, supermarkets, and even among teenagers as a trite poll. But this question also has an important place in the investing world. Coca-Cola and PepsiCo Inc. They are both very successful investment giants, but they are each other’s biggest rival.

In 2009, Coca-Cola ruled with 17% of the U.S. soft drink market while Pepsi held only 9.9%. And in 2011, Coke’s brands commanded 41.9% of the total market last year compared to PepsiCo’s 29.9%. But this war concerns so much more due to the fact that each company has hundreds of affiliated brands. Some of the most popular are A&W, Bacardi, Dasani, Minute Maid, and Nestea for Coke and Tropicana, Quaker, FritoLay, Gatorade, Lipton, and Aquafina for Pepsi. By observing this list, you see that Pepsi also owns some snack companies. This extension from just beverages doesn’t seem to be really putting them ahead though.

Coke has been fairly consistent in their marketing, such as putting much support into charities and the Olympics, and therefore have had the upper hand for some years. Despite Coke’s ongoing victory, PepsiCo has put up a good fight by stepping up its marketing for its other brands with slogans promoting them as “better for you”. Pepsi has trying new tactics and hiring nutrition specialist, but regardless, Coke always seems to come out on top, leaving you to wonder, “What proof is there to make me believe Pepsi will ever get ahead?” And from my research, there really isn’t any solid evidence that they will.

In short, Coca-Cola is really the dominant one in the market, and seems as though it will stay that way. I believe that although Pepsi may one day rise above its competition, money is best put into something that has proved its worth, therefore making an investment in Coke would be a smarter way to invest your money.

  • Where are the classics? Or anything other than teen fiction?

So I was surfing the internet for some new novel suggestions, and came across the so called "Best Books Ever" list of a popular social/book site. At the top are Twilight, The Hunger Games, and Harry Potter. Now I do respect Harry Potter (although it's not a favorite of mine), but Twilight and The Hunger Games just seemed to be lacking something for me. Where are the classics??? Or even any decent modern novels? I'm 15, yet I'm surprised at modern society's choice of the "Best Books Ever". What are some of your personal favorite books? Mine would have to be Hell House by Richard Matheson, IT by Stephen King, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and Pet Sematary also by Stephen King. I'm a big horror fan. If I absolutely had to pick a teen novel/series it would be The Demonata Series by Darren Shan.

  • Please help with these Algebra II word problems?

    Part 1:

You and your best friend want to backpack through Europe. You have done some research and discovered that it will cost $2,000 for the plane ticket, rail pass, food, and lodging. You have already saved $1,500. If you invest this money in a savings account with a 3% interest rate compounded annually, how long will it take to earn enough money to go on the trip? Use the compound interest formula A = P (1 + i)n, where A is the accumulated amount, P is the principal, i is the interest rate per year, and n is the number of years.

    Part 2:

You are planning to go on the trip to Europe in 2 years. How much money will you need to invest at a 3% interest rate compounded annually in order to have $2000 in 2 years? Use the compound interest formula A = P (1 + i)n.

    Part 3:

You only have $1500 to invest and the highest interest rate you can find is 3% compounded annually. If you decide to wait 4 years to go on the trip, how much money will you have to spend on the trip? Use the compound interest formula A = P (1 + i)n.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Does anyone know this movie?

A couple years ago I was watching tv, and this movie was on about the world being destroyed. It begins with a mother, father, and son trying to survive in the now barren earth. The mother is so cold and doesn't wish to live like this anymore, so she takes off her heavy coat (the sun is blocked out so it's freezing and there are no plants except some trees) and walks outside to freeze. The movie carries on with the father and son trying to reach the coast. They believe there will be some sort of relief there. They walk through empty houses seeing the destruction and dead bodies. They find a can of Coke and they share it. The son was pretty much born after the destruction so he had never tasted it before. They find a lady in the attic of a house there and they kill her after she attempts to kill them. They keep going and are welcomed in by an elderly couple, still surviving in their house. They soon realize these people survived by becoming cannibals. They leave and are soon being tracked down by more cannibals. They see another house and search it for food, realizing more people are surviving there. They find a cellar in this house with many naked living people in it... having been kept like animals there as a food source. The father and son barely make it out alive as the people come home and realize someone has been there. They lay hidden in the tall grass just outside the house and hear the people killing and eating one of the women from the cellar. They leave in the morning, finally reaching the coast and finding it as desolate as the rest of the world. They lay down wheelbarrow of food they had managed to keep and try to sleep. A black man steals the wheelbarrow, but they realize it and follow him. When they reach him the father wants to kill the man, but they boy stands up for him. So instead the father makes the black man take off all his clother and they leave him naked in the freezing, sharp stoned clearing without even as much as shoes. After returning to the beach, the by cries and feels bad about the black man. They go back to the clearing and leave some cans of food, and some clothes on the floor, hoping he'll return and find them. On the beach, the father dies. The boy is alone for a few days, surviving with a fire and leftover food. He then finds a dog, the first animal he's seen, and follows it to a small family with children of their own. When they find he is alone they welcome him warmly into their family.

Does anyone have an idea of what movie it could be?
