I just finished rebleaching my roots (I’ve been doing this for years, yes I know what I’m doing, yes I know it’s better for have a professional do it, that’s not the question). The temperature outside is -5 degrees Fahrenheit, with a windchill of -17. I have to leave for work in half an hour. I usually just let my hair air dry after doing this, and leave even if my hair is still wet. I don’t want to do that today because I don’t want my hair to freeze. I know it can be bad to use heat on hair that was just bleached or dyed, but has anyone done it before and how bad would it be? My hair is super thick and takes hours to dry on its own.

I know all tattoos will be painful to some extent, but for my 20th birthday I’m getting my first tattoo and I have several placements in mind. I’m just wondering which parts of the body it would hurt the least. I want to get a tattoo on the side of my thigh, partly on my hip. I’m roughly 110 lbs, very thin so I have hardly any fat on my body, I know that can make a difference. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

I’m wanting to dye my hair dark purple, but because my hair is dark brown now, I need to bleach it first. I’ve bleached my hair in the past about two and a half years ago and it lightened to a pale blonde with no issues. I only have one day off a week, so I was wondering if I’d be able to bleach it in the morning and dye it at night. My hair is a little shorter than my shoulders right now, and it’s in great shape. My hair is very healthy. I’m sure it could withstand the bleaching and the dying, but I’ve been told it’s not a good idea to dye it the same day you bleach it. If I didn’t do it both in the same day I’d have to walk around with brassy blonde hair for a week and I don’t want to do that if I don’t have to. The dye I’m using is Arctic Fox semi permanent dye, if that makes a difference.

My grandmother passed away unexpectedly last weekend. I was very close with her. Her funeral is this Sunday. Today is Thursday, and I have an appointment late this afternoon to get my hair dyed purple. I’m wondering if that would be a good idea to do before the funeral. My grandmother always loved when I colored my hair, it’s like she was fascinated by it. I know if she were here she would not care what color my hair was, so long as I was happy with it. But when I called my mother this morning she told me to cancel the appointment and wait to dye it until after. I made this appointment a month ago and it’s in a few hours. I would feel bad if I cancelled on my hair dresser last minute, but also I don’t want to cause any trouble at the funeral. Should I wait to dye it, or should I just do it today knowing my grandma wouldn’t care if she were still here? Currently my hair is shoulder length and dark brown, should I just do the bleaching today? I’m 19 if that matters. Thanks in advance, please no rude comments.

I have borderline personality disorder as well as two anxiety disorders and depression, though those stem from my BPD. About two years ago I was put on Lamictal for my anger problems and moodiness. I was initially prescribed a very low dose and stay at a low dose, 100mg a day, until recently. About six months ago it was upped to 150mg a day and about a month and a half ago to 200mg a day. Since the dosage has increased I've been very emotional. I've been much more suicidal. I've always been depressed and had suicidal thoughts but it has never been this bad. I've also become more angry and irritable. The littlest things set me off, and I blow up at people for no reason. I cry over stupid things, like spilling a cup of coffee, breaking a bowl, or one of my plants dying. For the last month I've been struggling trying to figure out what has been causing these changes and the only thing I can think of is the change of dosage for the Lamictal. I looked online and everywhere I looked said it was extremely rare to have irritability, depression, and other mood changes from Lamictal. Has anyone read anything otherwise about it, or has anyone experienced the same thing as me?

My computer crashed and my operating system was deleted. I used a different PC to download Windows 10 Pro (to a flash drive) from the Microsoft website for free. Then I re-installed Windows 10 onto my PC. Now I keep getting a notification and a pop-up on the screen that won't go away that says "Windows is not activated". I tried to activate it, but it says I need a product key. Microsoft didn't provide me with a product key when I downloaded Windows 10. So is there somewhere I can get a product key? My computer runs fine but the pop-up is annoying because it takes of part of the screen and doesn't go away, and can't be minimized. Will my computer be at risk without activating Windows?

I'm very prone to getting UTIs. I used to get them every two months, but lately I've been getting them roughly every six-seven months. It's gotten to the point where I don't even need to go in and get tested for them. My doctor just prescribes me a prescription if I have one, because I've gotten at least 20 of them in the last three years, and I know exactly what to expect and what they're like. For a few days now I've felt the persistent need to urinate, and when I do pee, I pee very little. My urine is cloudy and sort of has an odor to it. I don't feel any pain though, which is odd for me. When I get them, it's usually an excruciating pain. This time I have all the symptoms BUT the pain. I feel an uncomfortable feeling, if that makes sense. I don't want to call my doctor for a prescription if it's possible I have something other than a UTI, and I can't take off time from work to see a doctor for the next week. So, is it possible to have a UTI without any pain? And even though I've always experienced pain with previous UTIs?

We have a boiler in our basement that was use to heat the house. It uses water. It doesn't have a thermostat on it or a gauge or anything on it. The only way to adjust it is by turning screws, one way (left) making the heat go up and one way (right) making it go down. My little brother was messing around with it one day without my mom or I noticing and he ended up somehow turning it so the heat upstairs is ten times warmer than the heat on the main floor. My mom and I have both tried turned the screw back to the right, which is how we would normally make the heat go down upstairs. But nothing has worked. It is still extremely hot upstairs. But if we turn it off so it cools down upstairs, it becomes freezing on the main level. Sorry for the lack of details as I know nothing about this sort of thing, I'm just trying to take care of my mom. If anyone knows anything I could try to help or knows anything about boilers it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I lost a lot of weight about six months ago but now I don't have time to work out since my schedule is so busy so I'm worried I'm gaining some of it back. I only gained back about five pounds since then but I'd like to lose the five pounds and then remain the same weight I was at. Would eating less calories help me lose a little weight or maintain the same weight? I try and eat no more than 1500 calories a day, between 1000 and 1500.

I shampooed and conditioned my hair last night, 24 hours ago. I wanted to dye my hair tomorrow morning, it will have been 36ish hours at that point since shampooing/conditioning my hair. Will this be a long enough wait between washing and dying my hair? Will the dye stick to my hair since I used conditioner the last time I washed it?

Two years ago I bleached my hair platinum. I then dyed it permanently light brown. About a year and six months ago, I permanently dyed it medium brown. A year ago, I permanently dyed it dark brown. My natural hair color is dark brown. So basically, over the past two years, my hair has been platinum, then light brown, then medium brown, then dark brown (my natural color). A month ago I dyed my hair burgundy, over the dark brown, and only my roots took the dye so it looks awful. If I use Color Oops or another hair dye remover, will it take my hair all the way back to platinum, or just back to a shade of brown? I really do not want platinum hair again. Thank you in advance.

I got contacted by two different people after making a post saying I would give away my guinea pig for free. I told them both the same thing, that I would let them know if it would work out, since both people said maybe. Now one person came to me and said they would take him, and right after that, the second person came to me and said they would take him. I don't know how to tell the second person he has already been claimed since I hate dissapointing people and I hate being the barer of bad news. How should I tell the second person the pig has been claimed? I want to be as nice about it as possible.

I take a daily anxiety medication and a mood stabilizer. I have borderline personality disorder, which causes depression, and generalized anxiety disorder. Normally I'm fine but every couple of weeks or so I get five or six days in a row where my anxiety is horrible and my depression is horrible, and I'm suicidal. I notice that my depression is almost always paired with my anxiety, unless I'm depressed for a specific reason. I've been prescribed lorazepam and I was told to only take it on the days where my anxiety and depression is bad, which is usually every two weeks or so for about five or six days, and/or when I have a panic attack. I read online reviews about the medication and some people said depression was a side effect. I'm worried about this because I don't want to take something that makes my depression worse. Has anyone taking this or any other kind of benzos and if so what did you experience?

I don't have any NyQuil, it's 10:45 pm so I'm not going to get any, I'd like to go to bed soon, if I take DayQuil will it keep me up?

I know if you're under 18 and you have a probationary license there are restrictions. You can't have more than 1 passenger, you can't drive between 12 am and 5 am, etc. But since I'm 18, do these restrictions not apply to me? I live in Wisconsin btw, and I couldn't find anything on the Wisconsin DMV website about restrictions for people who are 18 or older, I could only find restrictions for minors. Does this mean I don't have any restrictions? I can't find anything on this.

I dyed my hair burgundy, or tried to at least. My hair was all one color. The thing is, though, the bottom part of my hair was professionally dyed to match my roots. It was all dark brown, but my roots had never been dyed. Long story short, the burgundy dye stuck fantastically to my roots, but then rest of my hair... it washed out after two washes. Now my hair looks horrible :( The roots are burgundy but the rest is dark brown. Will black cover the burgundy color? Or better yet, will dark brown cover it so I can go back to my natural color?

I go through Boost Mobile now. I don't have a family plan. I pay $50 a month for unlimited everything. My friend is going to add me to her family plan, which is also through Boost Mobile. That was I pay less a month and so do the people in her family. Will I keep my phone number if I'm switching plans but not phone companies?

My iPhone 5s needs a new battery. I can buy a new battery on Amazon or eBay for $25. That's way cheaper than going through Apple or going to a place that fixes phones like Geek Squad, Batteries Plus, etc. If I buy a battery online, will a store that fixes phones swap it out with the old battery for free, or at least for cheap? I've read online from people that it only takes about half an hour to switch out the batteries, maybe even less than that, so would a place really charge me to replace it if I bring my own battery?

I have (had) a Galaxy s3 and it broke and now instead of buying a new phone I think I'm just going to get my old iPhone fixed. It's an iPhone 5s. It's been broke since last March (7 months ago). I was in the hospital and my mom left it plugged into the charger the entire four and a half days I was gone (she knows nothing about phones so didn't know this would be a bad thing) and when I got home it wouldn't turn on anymore. It was in near perfect condition before this. Does anyone have an idea of what could possibly be wrong with it or roughly how much is would cost to fix it? The phone was only a year old when it broke, it was only dropped once or twice months before this happened, never had problems with it before it broke.
