  • Do satellite TV dish antennas still need to be grounded?

So 15 years ago when we had satellite TV, I actually went to the store and bought the kit. I brought it home and installed it myself. One of the important notes was to make sure a grounding cable is installed. We eventually switched to a different provider, but last week, we decided to switch to DirecTv. Of course they no longer use the same dish antenna as previous (it is a lot bigger). My wife was home when they came out to do the install. When I got home, I noticed that they did not use the existing grounding block, and the ground wire is no longer connected to anything on the new system. So did they just forget, or do the new systems have another means of grounding?

  • How to unstick a valve in the shower.?

We have a tub/shower, with the little rod at the end of the spigot. In the down position, water comes out the spigot to fill the tub. In the up position, it closed off a valve so that water comes out the shower head. It is stuck in the up position so that it is always on the shower. What can we use to unstick it? We tried squirting a product called Kaboom up in where the mechanism is, but no luck. Would something like vinegar maybe loosen things up?

  • What's the cause of low pitched wanna rumble sound when restoring power?

When there's a power outage, and they are attempting to restore power, sometimes the lights momentarily come on, but then there's like a low pitched waaaaaa or rumble sound. What is the cause of that sound?
